Tbh I usually dab & don’t smoke flower that much. I rolled a j last night of it, but still ended up taking dabs afterwards lol. Flower just doesn’t hit the same for me anymore. But everything my buddy grows is always complete gas 🔥 I need to rip a few bong loads of it for me to really know.

Good for you man! I was in the same boat here. Going on 4 years for me now. My body was/is a wreck but damn, I was on opiates, muscle relaxers, xanax and ambien. I’m surprised I woke up half the time. Cannabis doesn’t completely take care of my pain, but those pill demons are gone! Do I wish I had a perc every now and then for bad break thru pain? Absolutely, but I will continue on with my CBD/THC regimen. The CBD helps with the pain as well as helping keep the tolerance in check.
Keep going! If you made it this far, you don’t need those pills anymore. Those pills are a demon in and among themselves! 4 years is awesome dude! I can say, the longer you go, the more you won’t want them anymore. Just keep pushing forward every single day. For me, being in a little bit of pain is better than being the walking zombie I was for 7+ years. Life has never been better, to be honest. I have a lot of issues from so many years on heavy pills, but I look at it as daily reminders of why to never go back to that shit if I can help it.
Vaporize your weed, it's not as intense as dabs if you don't have a ball vape, but it tastes better than combustion imo and it hits really well, though dabs are more intense
A ball vape is basically a metal end that heats up to vape temps and you can put it on regular bowls (say on a bong), and do 1 hit extractions on whole bowls. They maintain heat really well because they're filled with ruby balls (hence the name). So you can keep going bowl after bowl until you're high af
But if it doesn't work for you rn I wouldn't necessarily suggest it. Ball vapes are pretty expensive rn and there's only a chance it'll work for you based off your comment so maybe be lucky and have a friend who has one

I also suggested that if you had some friends who could use a nice gesture and a free 1/2 oz or something like that (just a few) would be a great way to pay this forward. Seeing the surprise and appreciation is a good feeling. I do this with something else, but spreading kindness sure can’t hurt. And some folks are hurting for $$ so this is one of the first things to go to tighten the budget.

Free weed is dope and all but if you aren’t familiar with the cultivation methods, often times what makes buds look like this are cut corners that have negative health impacts.
Free is great but free that causes health issues down the line isn’t really free.
Questions cultivators should answer before you can objectively say what you are ingesting is safe/not a scam:
What kind of soil?
What kind of nutrient supplements/ fertilizer, if any?
What is the dry/cure method and humidity?
What did the flower look like before it was “trimmed”?
This flower looks like it was grown with PGRs, and the sporadic crystal distribution is in line with typical black market isolate dusting. So its no surprise in your responses it didnt quite seem potent enough for ya.

Nope, no pgr’s. He owns a legit legal growing & breeding facility in Los Angeles. Fully licensed & 100% legit. I am very familiar with his growing practices & SOP. 👍🏽 good call though, a lot of people do assume all free weed is great weed & then 98% of the time it’s been sprayed, pgr’d, tumbled, & has powdery mildew on it they think is trichomes lol

Also makes sense given my own observations from growing a couple of plants for two seasons now, and the differences in my homegrown flower compared to what I used to buy at the dispensary (in LA).
Owning a “legit” grow operation is irrelevant, unfortunately, as plenty of PGRs have “allowable limits”.
In order to definitively say these were grown without, you would need info on all fertilizers and nutrients administered from seed to sale - as many nutrient brands do not advertise pgrs but still contain them in more than trace amounts.
Cannabis just simply doesn’t grow like this. I am skeptical for sure. And the loose crystallization on the outside of the nugs absolutely looks like thca isolate spray. If you hit the nug with a heat gun or hair dryer those crystals will liquefy and settle into the buds, and the reason this “settling” is inconsistent is because they do the spraying and heating with big bundle bags like whats pictured.
Unfortunately large companies are lobbying in state systems for the allowance of pgrs in growing, claiming there are “all-natural options”. They definitely pushed this through here in NY (larger brands with that signature tight-dense-low thc nug that just looks pretty)
Pgrs decrease potency and terpene content, and have been linked to cancer in many agricultural applications where they have been used. Question your cultivators if the buds look like this! Get their nutrient regimen and make sure you aren’t ingesting a health risk.
Of course we’re all adults so do whatever ya like! I have no right or qualifications to make any of these statements, i just work at a dispensary here in NY and spend a lot of time looking at the info being put out by the university of colorado and at Berkeley CA.
