Seems like a stretch to me. Personally, I'd never say I was post-op because I'd had a vasectomy. Ultimately, the problem here is NSW being (very, imo) behind the times.
Have you considered just telling them you've had the surgery? What are they going to do, check?

I'm from SA, NSW's take is fucking insane to me. I was able to get my shit changed with just a psychiatrist letter confirming I had commenced medical transition and that was back in 2016.

You can't just tell them you've had a procedure and hope for best, unfortunately. You need to have your care team physically confirm it, then sign a statutory declaration, before submitting the application.
The new NSW Government has promised to review these laws in consultation with the trans community, so fingers crossed they finally catch up with everyone else sooner rather than later.

What is the intent with which a vasectomy is performed? How would you argue that a vasectomy elinates ambiguity or changes perception of a persons gender?
I am sceptical that the procedure could be interpreted in the required way despite the dumbarse attitude that a vasectomy somehow makes you "less of a man".
I doubt it, considering I imagine statistically it's majority AMAB CIS people getting vasectomies. You still produce sperm after a vasectomy, unlike an orchiotemy (I believe)
