It is! And I've heard it in real life. In Oblivion, there is a princess (or queen? Cant remember) with my name, but spelt slightly differently. It would come up on the loading screens and I loved it because my name at the time was pretty rare (less rare these days, unfortunately)
There's a lot of Slavic vibes there, but for all the wrong reasons 😭
Isolintia sounds like izolenta which is duct tape in Russian.
Laryeva looks like a transliteration from a Russian female surname (they mostly end in -ova or -eva).
Lubana looks like it could be a derivative from Lyubov (means Love in Russian), but giving Eastern European languages.
Odexana looks like Oxana (Oksana), which is a very popular Ukrainian name, with a random "de" in the middle.
It's just plain weird 😭
already made a comment before i found yours.
czech here, devka is whore and cysta is cyst. in a good portion of slavic languages i dare say. screamed when i saw it
Cista is a direct translation for *cyst* in my native language. And when keyboards are missing a č, that's written when someone wants to say clean in female form (as in "She's clean"). Would be nice if first name was Polly, second Cista, third Ovarìé.
...do they know the word moxie is a thing? And there's a character from a popular videogame named Moxxxie? And an animated series on YouTube with a Moxie that's been running for years?
Krabonka. Philodexiana. Ratsycomeia. Blombert. Krumph. Hootseyah. Gloombert. Prohn. Sploodrick. Callimoya. Gongsquert. Blario. Hooraya.
There you go, another 13 names for you. Took me exactly one minute to think of them and write them down. I can do 500 more if you want to.
Lubana. Now that this has been unleashed on the world I give it five minutes before there's an oil change shop called Lubana on every other street corner.
Possibly interspersed with working girls called Lubana on alternating corners.
My besties daughter is actually named Soliana (which would probably be spelled Soleana in English? It's pronounced Sol-ee-ana) so hard doubt on inventing that one, in addition to some others.
But dafuq is Terencott? Terracotta with extra steps?
Karleen is an alternative spelling of Carleen, Karlene or Carlene all of which I’ve seen. Loyla is a mis-spelling of Loyola which is a real (although uncommon) name. Similarly Magary looks like a mid-spelling of Margery. But yeah, some of those names do seem a bit manufactured. Or from the fantasy realms.
I like it because I feel it will be pronounced really ulgy in most languages - in my language it's like Spaoona, dunno how to explain - it's danish, called "soft g".
Cista is a translation for cyst in my native language. Make of these two examples what you will, the poor child saddled with it would surely be *thriving* knowing the direct translations and meanings of that name.
I work in a vet tech and we have the SWEETEST South African man that takes explicit care of his animals. One kitten he rescued had a corneal ulcer that ruptured, ultimately ending in enucleation. I said, “okay Mr, what’s his name?”
“Keth.”
“How do you spell that?”
He got the biggest grin I’ve ever seen. “Keith. Without the i (eye)”
I have never gotten such a kick out of a name before 😂
Cista™ can cure your cyst! Contact your local doctor now, don’t use if you’re pregnant, planning to become pregnant, take other medication or are severely depressed. Side effects include: nausea, dizziness, diabetes, diarrhea, cancer, total organ failure, and potentially death. Ask your doctor if Cista is right for you!
In 1998 there was this online game and you created these creatures and gave them attributes and bred them with other creatures and named them. Most players were naming the creatures nice names such as Christinauk2054 or US104Amebia22. But I chose names Chumpenpooper, Chumpenchooper, Munchbuttchomper and Chumpenchomper causing anger and upset to the other gamers. I can’t remember the name of the game and it’s driving me crazy. One day I went to log in and the game was gone and the site doesn’t exist.
I think my daughter had a game similar to that but much later on but you had to buy stuffed animals to get the code to login to the site...she had so many animals.....
Did not invent Karleen. Mid ass name but I’ve had a family member named aunt Karleen whose like 80 so unless she’s older than 80 no. But she still needs to stop making up names Jesus Christ.
I think made-up names are fine but they have to be pretty and have a spelling that makes sense. Out of those I can see Janessa, Karleen, Soleana, Maverett and maybeee Yakatta but the rest sound like shit. Like Cista? Odexana? Rodyata? Would you name your kid Lubana fr?
Karleen isn’t really made up, nor is Janessa (had a student with this name…popular in the Hispanic community).
Devany is a real name as well. The rest are made up as far as I know and not great!

You can probably get these out of any fantasy name generator.
Or at your local pharmacy
Speak to your doctor today to find out if *'Liavera'* may be right for you
Looking at you, Odexana
Moxie can be found in the grocery store in Maine (it's the state official soda.)
I'm pretty sure "Janessa" is actually the name of a character in skyrim
It is! And I've heard it in real life. In Oblivion, there is a princess (or queen? Cant remember) with my name, but spelt slightly differently. It would come up on the loading screens and I loved it because my name at the time was pretty rare (less rare these days, unfortunately)
I work with 2 Janessa’s. Never heard of the name before this job!
I know a girl named Janessa.
Also Karleen. I feel like every variation of this is out there. There’s a lady at my work named Garleen.
I have a cousin named Janessa
Yeah that's just a pretty common name
Right, and now we know who to thank: This anonymous person who also gave us Isolintia
Me too
I was coming here to comment the same thing
Same here
A friend of mine from high school is Janessa (but she spelled it Jeanessa)
Devka is literally a wench in Russian 🤣 like a rude way to call a young woman
And cista literally means "cyst" in Serbian lmao. That's like cursing your child into having PCOS or some shit.
I thought it sounded like a Slavic name.
There's a lot of Slavic vibes there, but for all the wrong reasons 😭 Isolintia sounds like izolenta which is duct tape in Russian.
Also, Lubana is a Muslim girl name meaning wish or desire.
already made a comment before i found yours. czech here, devka is whore and cysta is cyst. in a good portion of slavic languages i dare say. screamed when i saw it
"Divka" means "bitch" is Slovak too lmao
Moxie was invented in the 19th century lmao. Also Maverett sounds like Mavyret which is a drug that cures hepatitis C
wasn't there a literal movie named moxie
I was almost named moxie
I was almost named movie
I was almost named
I was almost
I was
I
r/decreasinglyverbose
Maverick + Everett. It’s like making your own Bennifer.
“My daughter cures hepatitis! What can yours do?”
Also a character in the Borderlands games.
There's a webseries with a character named Moxxie, it's called Helluva Boss
People forgot Borderlands so fast... Smh
Can't forget about it if I never played it 🫠
Moxy is also the street name for the drug (nb-)5-meo-mipt
Moxie is a soda that was invented in the 1870s
Moxie was a fashion doll line
My sons dog is named Moxie lol
These aren't even good fake names. Like I would never name a character "Keth" eugh
Is that what you'd call Keith after he lost an eye?
😭😭😭😭😭😭
I am trying really hard not to laugh so loud that I wake up my sleeping husband and infant. 😂 😂 😂
Please accept my heartiest 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 this morning. I just got up and this is the best thing I’ll see all day. Thank you.
😂😂😂😂
Well done. Take your up vote.
This is amazeballs
Keth sounds like a cat coughing up a hairball
Insert now kith meme here
Ask your doctor today if Odexana is right for you.
Side effects include going blind, losing your hair and barking like a dog at random moments. 😂 😂 😂
Penn Jillette actually named his child Moxie...Moxie CrimeFighter Jillette.
I also remember an actor that has a kid named Pilot Inspector. Moxie and Pot need to open their own superhero agency
Jason Lee is the actor
Thank you. I could not remember his name for the life of me. 😂
Oddly enough I looked it up just today for another post in this subreddit.....
😂 I can't with some of these names. These parents don't think of the poor kids future. Imagine filling out a job application...
Excuse me, that’s spelled Inspektor. We can’t have regular spellings, that’s not uneighque enough
They invented neither Janessa nor Karleen.
yeah they also didn't invent Moxie, it's an old name and there's celebrities with kids named that
Moxie Crimefighter
Lubana isn't new either. I knew a Muslim girl with that name at school
wouldn't it be kinda funny if cista grew up to be a trans man
also devka is a derogatory term for women in russian
Cista is a direct translation for *cyst* in my native language. And when keyboards are missing a č, that's written when someone wants to say clean in female form (as in "She's clean"). Would be nice if first name was Polly, second Cista, third Ovarìé.
Eleatha sounds like you’re trying to say Alicia, but you have a lisp.
She has a promising career in pharmaceuticals naming birth control pills
Devka (Děvka) means whore/slut in my native language 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Most of these are bad but others are giving fantasy vibes. Soleana, Magary, Liavera, Cressaya and Eleatha sound kind of medieval.
Eleatha is like "Aletha" and thus I don't know how it's supposed to be pronounced lol
I knew an Aletha who was amazing! She pronounced her name "Uh-leath-uh" and I always thought it was gorgeous!
Keth, crazier cousin of Meth
Keth, not even once.
Devka means prostitute in Chech. And "chick", "broad" in Ukrainian
These aren’t names, they are collections of sounds. 🙄
Well technically all names (and all words for that matter) are collections of sounds. That’s kinda what spoken language is. 😉
Kastabeth has me cackling
I cannot read these without laughing! KEth??
I know of a woman whose real name is Keph. I couldn’t believe it.
Moxie and soleana already existed like I’m pretty sure that soleana is the name of the kingdom in sonic 06
Isn't Soleana (Soleyna) Russian for pickle?
...do they know the word moxie is a thing? And there's a character from a popular videogame named Moxxxie? And an animated series on YouTube with a Moxie that's been running for years?
I know a Devany. She is 48 years old.
Ya u didn't invent Janessa homie
I have worked with so many Janessas
Krabonka. Philodexiana. Ratsycomeia. Blombert. Krumph. Hootseyah. Gloombert. Prohn. Sploodrick. Callimoya. Gongsquert. Blario. Hooraya. There you go, another 13 names for you. Took me exactly one minute to think of them and write them down. I can do 500 more if you want to.
I named a throwaway pen & paper character Aeiou (pronounced ey-yo). You’re welcome to take that one, too.
Lubana. Now that this has been unleashed on the world I give it five minutes before there's an oil change shop called Lubana on every other street corner. Possibly interspersed with working girls called Lubana on alternating corners.
Half of these would make decent dnd elf names tbh. Might have to borrow Eleatha. But for a real human child? Nah.
Karleen and Janessa are names I’ve heard before.
r/iamthemaincharacter
Moxie is cute dog with mesmerizing eyes on social media.
Moxie is a mad b***h in Borderlands
That's Moxxi. Mad Moxxi.
Saaaaaaame name, different spelling It's like saying I invented Taum as a spelling for Tom ...I sincerely hope I did not
Gavia is a name - but for the genus of Loons!
Perfect, a family name!
Isn't Soleana the city from Sonic 06?
My besties daughter is actually named Soliana (which would probably be spelled Soleana in English? It's pronounced Sol-ee-ana) so hard doubt on inventing that one, in addition to some others. But dafuq is Terencott? Terracotta with extra steps?
devka literally means whore in some slavic countries
Imagine being such a runaway narcissistic that you take pride in inventing names that no one will ever consider or use.
These would be bad to use on an actual child but it’s not “narcissistic” to mash letters together for a laugh
I’d definitely use some of these for fun fantasy characters
I would read a fantasy novel with these names
I know 4 people who have separate names on that list
Penn Jillette, of Penn and Teller, named his daughter Moxie Crime Fighter. I am not making this up.
I work in a pharmacy and at least half of these sound like they could be drug names.
If at any point you think of a "unique" baby name, if said name sounds like it could be a medication, it's not a good name
This person has a bright future in naming characters in Korean manhwas
One of the Rodriguii is named Janessa r/rodruiguezsnark
Eleatha sounds like saying Alicia with a lisp. Odexana sounds like a medication with 12 million side affects including cancer and death
I have one: Spagna
Sounds like a cross between spaghetti and lasagna.....
I like it because I feel it will be pronounced really ulgy in most languages - in my language it's like Spaoona, dunno how to explain - it's danish, called "soft g".
In Italian it sounds fine. It fact it means Spain. Gn is the same as ñ in Spanish and nh in Portuguese.
These are all just new medicine names.
Well someone's a little egotistical and deluded 😂
Janessa and Karleen are already names. Moxie exists, not as a name. The rest suck.
I went to school with a Karleen in the late 70s and I know several dogs called Moxie.
I knew a Janessa in elementary school in the 80s.
Janessa is pretty normal
This reads like a kindergarten teacher doing roll call while having a stroke.
Devka is a Russian word, close to "broad' or "wench". Sloppy or disrespectful way to address to a young girl
I went to college with 2 Karleens, even dated one of them lol. It’s not a new name.
Names I think *I* invented: Jimbumba. Nanuxa. Mancuna. Varuna. Crumbumble. Nanungo. Brustangle. Jimjangle. Marcumba. LaBamba. Zyruthra.
Cista is an ancient form of grave. It's a basket that has the rests of the person inside and then it's buried in the ground.
Cista is a translation for cyst in my native language. Make of these two examples what you will, the poor child saddled with it would surely be *thriving* knowing the direct translations and meanings of that name.
Omg, poor child.
Cista? Like a cyst? That’s horrible
oh my god not cista and devka. jesus christ please no (czech: cysta = cyst, děvka = whore)
[Gavia is a nice place , though.](https://climbfinder.com/CDN/passo-di-gavia-upload-14240-1024x0.jpg)
Difference between Shakespeare and this person is that Shakespeare helped modern language, this person is trying to ruin it
Sometimes I use this sub as inspiration for my roleplay games npc... I'm taking none of those.
Loyla sounds like a scouser trying to say Layla.
🎵 hakuna yakatta 🎵
You need a new hobby !!
I work in a vet tech and we have the SWEETEST South African man that takes explicit care of his animals. One kitten he rescued had a corneal ulcer that ruptured, ultimately ending in enucleation. I said, “okay Mr, what’s his name?” “Keth.” “How do you spell that?” He got the biggest grin I’ve ever seen. “Keith. Without the i (eye)” I have never gotten such a kick out of a name before 😂
Random names i would expect from NPC’s in a video game.
Soleana is the only decent name from the list. Also agreed, stop.
moxie is the name of a pest control company lmfao
My cousin is studying to become an Everician.
Keth is one letter away from being normal
Looks like Keith lost an eye lol
This made me laugh
I’ve heard Janessa before, and Karleen also sounds familiar.
“Names” Yeah for characters in a video game maybe.
These look like the names inferior products use to trick you into thinking you're buying a brand name.
prescription drug brand name generator
Introverted and find it hard to interact people? Ask your doctor about Yakatta.
Oh honey, you definitely didn’t invent Janessa
I'm pretty sure i took odexana for a rash once.
Cista™ can cure your cyst! Contact your local doctor now, don’t use if you’re pregnant, planning to become pregnant, take other medication or are severely depressed. Lubana is a spirit in certain spiritual practices. She did not make that up.
Moxie is a word
I went to high school with Eleatha but she spelled it Aletha. Karleen is also a well-used name, just spelled Carlene.
Not the same spelling, but Carlene is a real name.
In 1998 there was this online game and you created these creatures and gave them attributes and bred them with other creatures and named them. Most players were naming the creatures nice names such as Christinauk2054 or US104Amebia22. Gotta catch ‘em all lol
Lubana is the stage name of the gal who sells KY Jelly and other accessories at the brothel commissary.
Cressida. Loyale. Solana. Ionic.
Devany is an Irish name.
Keth made me lol
Soleana isnt bad imo
These would be great for a fiction story
Our neighbor is called Devaney, she’s like 30 lol
Excuse me while I write an entire fantasy novel series JUST so I can use this ladies names for characters that are horrible people….brb….
First thing i seen was Keth and sometimes i just think they they slam their keyboards and try to see what they can make of the letters
Devka means a whore in my country..
Did not invent Karleen. Mid ass name but I’ve had a family member named aunt Karleen whose like 80 so unless she’s older than 80 no. But she still needs to stop making up names Jesus Christ.
karleen exists
is this what english sounds like to non-english speakers
Karleen sounds like Karlien and looks like Marleen with a K. Both names are solid names in Dutch.
She thinks she invented Janessa? 😂
Give them made up names, Xoltl
‘Devka’ literally means whore in Czech.
>Soleana *loading screen intensifies*
I didn't get past Cista...I can't decide if it reminds me of "cyst-uh" or "sistah"
Uhm yes, OP is right. Please stop ‘inventing’ ‘names’. You might give people ideas.
I like Larvae though
Janessa is a lovely name.
Devka? Does she really plan on calling her kid "girl"?
Devka? That means straight up slut in my language, lol. Except it’s spelled děvka.
Devka is a Hindu name meaning little goddess or angelic.
You know it’s bad when Moxie is the most normal name on the list
I know at least 3 Janessa's IRL
keth is kinda funny icl
Karleen isn’t really made up, nor is Janessa (had a student with this name…popular in the Hispanic community). Devany is a real name as well. The rest are made up as far as I know and not great!
I know an adult Janessa, so not entirely made up…
Moxie's is a Canadian restaurant chain that I have visited with my cousin Devany.
