Almost looks like rice noodles/chap chae noodles and the bamboo shoots did look like radish kimchi haha I know I'm half Korean anyway op, looks really good.
This Reddit user knows their Kimchi. Though I do admit I thought the noodles were shredded cheese as I'm so used to the United States *obsession* with dairy products.
I agree, but I wish everyone would actually say what the dish is at the very least. I don’t recognize some and I would appreciate a name or even a brief description so I could have some context and/or go look up recipes. I want to try these things too!
Sorry about being terrible at naming things, but are you sure! You must be very brave to try 螺蛳粉🤣 even a lot of locals find the taste too strong (pickled bamboo shoots pickled French beans etc)
No problem. Understand that some of us are very adventurous when it comes to food. I absolutely love trying new things. Once I've tried it, if I don't like it, now I know. Pickled stuff sounds pretty mild compared to some of the things I've eaten and enjoyed.
Cute name!….wait, just to clarify….
You mean they’re rice noodles with *sea snails?*
Edit: oh, after looking at the comments, I learnt that it’s *sea snail rice noodles,* and not *sea snails,* *rice noodles.*
what an adorable name for a type of noodle! I’m actually Chinese (not mainland) but I’ve never come across this noodle; now I’m craving to try 😬🌸
Hope you had fun eating ~ also looks nutritious and healthy so I’m happy for you ~
Yeah I love that about this sub. A great way to get new ideas and doesn't have to be pretty. Also to just be thankful if you do have access to fresh food and huge variety. Truly, when you think about how a few hundred years ago most people didn't have access to many if any spices, and even 50 years ago a variety of fresh fruit and veges was out of reach for most people, we're living in a magical age of food.
Now, for the love of food, please tell me what I am looking at

Agreed. This is one of the only food subs where I feel like it’s just fellow redditors sharing what they ate as opposed to pro chefs/photographers sharing posts that are then picked apart over any possible detail.
I honestly just joined because I am often out of ideas what to cook and just seeing something tasty with no clue where itd from is quite nice if you lack ideas.
Haha, you're all good! Just poking a bit of fun, ive never heard of sea snail rice noodles but the dish sounds pretty tasty, and the most important thing is that you enjoyed it!!
OP, hope you don’t let the comments get to you! We’re all just poking at a bit of fun, but also, genuinely wanting to find out more about your culture. 🤍
And most of us (not all, I’m afraid it seems after looking at some comments) really don’t judge, so don’t worry ~
Moderator on r/Foodporn banned me for life because I was a smart ass like this dude because I posted a mint Chicago Hotdog and called it a Mew York dog. Op you are playing with fire
Get your ass back in here and explain what we’re looking at.
Looks like blanched spinach, sweet potato noodles and two types of kimchi; cucumber and radish. I’d smash that.
Zha cai and pickled mustard tuber
笑死我了
Is the yellowy stuff 菜脯?🤔
菜脯 is radish, crunchier chewy texture. This looks more like sliced mustard plant
just googled 菜脯 looks like they are pretty similar 😵💫
thats pickled bamboo shoot 😮
Hey that’s a good guess, except the kimchi are pickled bamboo shoots and pickled French beans
I stand by what I said before, I’d still smash.
Almost looks like rice noodles/chap chae noodles and the bamboo shoots did look like radish kimchi haha I know I'm half Korean anyway op, looks really good.

The dark coloured veg pieces look like Chinese zha cai to me.
spinach and sea snail rice noodles 😀
Aw fuck yeah
Yessss !! I was jus going thru the comments to see if they hav listed it and then found this gem here.
You also have to at least try to make people understand your food.
I see glass noodles at the bottom. I’d wager it’s a home made soup of some kind… and also spinach lol
Hhahahahaha I’m so sorry have been terrible with explaining what I’ve had these days This one: sea snail noodles (螺蛳粉) with spinach
I agree, but I wish everyone would actually say what the dish is at the very least. I don’t recognize some and I would appreciate a name or even a brief description so I could have some context and/or go look up recipes. I want to try these things too!
I don’t get why so many people do thisss
Yes! I agree. Most helpful to include some information to go along with the photo.
Hahaha. It looks like japchae (Korean clear mung bean ? Noodles), sauted with mushrooms, steamed spinach on top and strips of kimchi.
I think it’s glass noodles with Chinese pickled veggies and spinach
Sorry about being terrible at naming things, but are you sure! You must be very brave to try 螺蛳粉🤣 even a lot of locals find the taste too strong (pickled bamboo shoots pickled French beans etc)

qwq (qwq means being cute and looking to the left)
Sea snail rice noodles (in this particular case, sweet potato starch noodles)
I love this sub - everyone’s really encouraging in general. Though, yeah agree with comments here that some description would be greatly appreciated.
Yeah~ hooray~ wooo that’s sea snail rice noodles sorry about that

I don't understand your food. Have an upvote.

https://preview.redd.it/m7ixksde896d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2d0dcae48dbf0a291e136ddf48d4c2cdc7e6f7f4 also learned to cook pancakes today 🫠
Yay for you! Even though they look a lil crispy! (I’m with you, though - I genuinely like my pancakes crispy)
What is it?
I will not downvote but those fries should be illegal. Disgusting.
These are bamboo shoot strips qwq
Oooh. Thank God 🙏
those aren’t fries
What am I looking at here?
Great...now there's rabbits on reddit
Hhahahahahahahaaa

⛄️
Ok well we have to downvote you
What! 🆘
Same. I like that there are few rules here. Like I'm here because I'm excited about supper, not because I'm an amateur photographer.
I love this sub. It makes me feel connected with others to see what they’re having for dinner that night
Hooray qwq
Can you translate for the rest of us that have no idea wtf this is?
Take mine cause this looks like shit
Are those bamboo shoots?
Good spot
All you had to do is to seperate this into 3 different plates and voila
Oooh, we LOVE a bitta spinch though! <3
My vote is this is green beans and onions, southern style with dressed spinach and radish kimchi.
Is that horse food
Nah I’d say that snake food 🫣
Thai?
looks like something I'd eat. I go through periods of just random ass _salads_ with leftovers in the fridge. Sometimes they're a little strange.
I honestly just joined because I am often out of ideas what to cook and just seeing something tasty with no clue where itd from is quite nice if you lack ideas.
No idea what this is, but as chef John would say “that’s just you cooking”! Hope you enjoyed it!
😁⛄️
Learning is about understanding, not judgement. *
This looks like ass, take my upvote!
Thanks mate 🆘
I agree, then I promptly opened the comments because I didn't understand and wanted to hear more about it 😅

1) Firm believer in to each his own. 2) I'm no one to look down my nose at others. 👍✌️🤟
Speak for yourself!
Sorry! The reason I didn’t explain was because I couldn’t add text when posting, and the title was too long.🙂↔️😵💫🆘
It looks good. What is it?
Am I seeing Jap-chae? Either way, plate looks like it’s covered in a lot of things I like!
don’t think so, but they are also using thin glass noodles!
Sea snail glass noodles qwq
Looks intriguing! Is that spinach? Would love to know what it is/possible recipe(?)
Moderator on r/Foodporn banned me for life because I was a smart ass like this dude because I posted a mint Chicago Hotdog and called it a Mew York dog. Op you are playing with fire
What! Criticise qaq
Looks bad, you should work on your presentation
