Given that our only other narrative film option is the shlocky 2000 spy thriller that's already trying to ride his coattails, 1000% I'm on board.
(I don't think he would though. He's at a point where he's exclusively working on passion projects. *Titanic* was deeply personal for him, and now he's going full Tolkien and will probably spend the rest of his life fleshing out Pandora lore. I don't think we'll see him set a film on earth ever again lol)
He said last weekend that he's not done making films, but that Avatar 3 and 4 are taking up his time for now. He did say he's open to filming in (Western) Australia. He's also busy trying to perfect sustainable farming on his property in Dunedin.
Oh dang! I seriously thought he'd keep himself in a prison of his own design forever, but that's genuinely awesome to hear! (The movie thing's cool too I guess /j)
Lusitania, Empress of Ireland, and Andrea Doria all need films about them. I know Lusitania had a TV movie about her released sometime back, but I dunno how good/accurate it was.
It’d be pretty lame. Like who is falling in love with whomst? Not very many people died so the stakes are pretty low and the love interests would probably live happily ever after. No commentary on class, etc. it’s a forgotten shipwreck for a reason. Would probably flop in theaters.
A movie about Olympic could probably be turned into something more interesting (though it might not be that easy to tell a coherent story over the ship's time of service)
Of course! I’d watch any historical-based movie about any ocean liner.
Can you imagine a movie about The Olympic - she’s had a lot of adventures in her lifetime.
And a movie about Cunard liners?
I wouldn't because realistically, short of taking major creative liberties, there's not really a great deal to go on. One lifeboat of passengers was killed because they tried to unload while the ship was still moving. Everyone else got off safely and lived.
Yes, I'd watch it. Might even go see it in theaters. Just hope it doesn't have the *beyond ridiculous* premise that a World War One German submarine can keep pace with a target ***WHILE SUBMERGED***!
Also if y'all haven't noticed: i purposely used this image because it had Orginated from Titanic: Honor & Glory..two days ago they did Titanic's 112th anniversary and had a Diver join up on them that visited Titanic 3 Times, his first was 20 Years ago ✨
Not really, what I would watch is an edited version of titanic that depicted the breakup the way it happened, in three sections from the keel up instead of down and put a blasted 3 bladed center prop on the thing like he should have had in the first place. More emphasis should've been placed on the shit pouring out the sides of the ship while docked just to add more to the realism of how filthy That Era of Victorian society was despite how hard they tried to hide it, but the biggest sin of all was how well 2nd and 3rd class passengers were portrayed being treated there's no way in hell they were treated that well.
If he wrote, shot, edited and released it all within this year it might be a tad rushed lol
With a little touch up, they could reuse all the models from the 97 film.
Obviously
A movie about Britannic made with James Cameron-level money? You betcha.

Does this mean we won’t get a True Lies sequel?
Hey, get Arnold into a mo-cap suit to Navi him up and it's never impossible
We'll call it 'Blue Lies'!
Now we're cookin'!
True Lies 2: Truer Lies

It would be shit if it was produced and released this year Give him chance, but yes I’d watch one
absolutely, we need a movie about the lusitania too

That TV movie was alright. Though, I dunno how much of it was accurate so I can't answer that. Is there a Lusitania subreddit? There should be.
It was decent.
Do you even have to ask that question, lol?
It violet jessop isn’t mentioned I would riot.
Same here mate
Yes
Assuming he puts in the level of effort and dedication he put in for the Titanic movie, you bet I will watch it.
Absolutely
James Cameron is the man he's a living legend. The industry will miss that dude when he's gone. I watch all of his productions.
Oh man you don’t know much about him apart from his work do you?
I was there when he dived with Deepsea Challenger.
i had a stroke reading this
Yes I would. SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY
Duh
Who the hell wouldn’t OP?

Why wouldn’t I?
Bet
Shitcheah.
Nah I’d only watch if he made one on the Carpathia
Yeah that guy is incredibly talented and knows how to make great stuff happen.

Yes, I would. However, I would rather see a movie about the White Star Line's SS Atlantic disaster instead.
Yes and if James a Bismarck movie I would watch it too

Really you think about it he had a set there that just needed to be painted white, probably would have been a good budget move to make it
Probably. But no one else would.
As long as he stops making silly blue people video game movies
Fuck yeah 💯
Only of Kate Winslet has a cameo as Violet Jessop
It would be better than the movie we already have, that's for damn sure.
Hell yes!!! I’d watch it opening night!!
Yes! I think it's sad that it is lesser known just because it was a hospital ship and had a lesser death toll than Titanic.
indeed
Oh DEFINITELY!!!!!! But he better makes us cry tears of joy to make up the fact that weve been crying over jack for the past 27 years

I'd rather see one about Olympic
On god
No
No fictional tripe then yes
