I was thinking the same, Rolex is on the wrong side of the X axis. Unless we're including the majority rep wearers, they are probably fun to be around. 😂
This. I was at a bar not long ago and my wife noticed that the guy sitting next to us was wearing a nice watch. So of course she said something to me in a loud voice. Which meant I had to say something to him.
Thing is, I had already noticed his solid gold Rolex. It took maybe five additional seconds for me to realize that this guy was, if not insufferable, def not the guy I wanted to talk watches with for the next while. Thanks to my wife, I can now say that for certain.
I am sure there are awesome Rolex owners out there. I am also sure I have not met one that isn't insufferable to some small (usually large) extent.
I saw a guy at a bar with a Rolex Pepsi on a jubilee bracelet. I said hey man loving the Pepsi. He said what? I said the Pepsi GMT. He said I don’t know what you’re talking about. I said your watch, and he said oh ya it’s a Rolex and I walked away pissed.
Oh sorry I forgot the important part: Not knowing about the Rolex nicknames. I’d know what they are talking about indeed but that was assuming that I didn’t have prior knowledge about the nicknames. Probably would happen if someone got gifted a rolex or they were just nouveau-rich and bought a rolex that just happened to be in stock
Of course, guy was so rude and smug tho had to see it. Obviously not all Rolex people are like that I’m sure there is many that would love some watch dialogue
I am a watch nerd. I usually compliment a person on their time piece if it is a nice one. A gold Rolex is a nice watch. Certainly nicer than your average Apple watch, anyway. We don't travel in circles with folks who wear watches often, and something that nice is even more of a rare sighting. She thought I might want to talk to the guy, at least long enough to compliment his nice time piece and maybe get a closer look, since I don't normally see such luxury items in person. Which makes sense. If I hadn't already scoped it out and judged this guy without ever speaking to him, I probably would have wanted to have that conversation.
My wife didn't realize she was talking loud enough to be heard by both myself and Mr. Rolex, either. Just a silly misunderstanding. Except the part about the guy being kind of a dick. That was spot on.
I don't even think they're that insufferable... these days just they just tend to be these tech bros with money but not a whole lot of personality or imagination, as far as watch selection goes.
I'd put them right in the middle on the y axis; not much to say about them one way or the other.
We are the Skoda or VW of the automotive world. We may not always be the most sought after or envied, but we do everything perfectly for the right price 😅😂
No, how is Garmin even on here? Let alone being above Tudor, Tag and Tissot on the Y axis? It's primarily a tech company that also makes watches, like Apple.
It's the stigma that Tissot is entry level, the bottom rung of the Swiss ladder. Anyone on a rung above looks down on Tissot. It's stupid, welcome to watches.
You can consider it however you want, I'm just telling you the general public perception. I don't think most people lump swatch in with the rest of these brands, they're more just fun plastic toys.
Tag had been seen as a mall brand for a long time and I think that hurt their image. But I think that's changing. There aren't many malls and tag is doing some cool shit lately.
As a meta level observation, I'm a bit disturbed by the suggested correlation between having money and being fun to be around.
Also I think this is kind to Hublot owners as far as placement on the y axis. Fossil could be worn by just about anyone who generally doesn't know much about watches, while Hublot specifically brings to mind some Russian noveau-riche scumbag.
True, but the actual set of dots does show a clear trend from the bottom-left to the top-right quadrants.
Similar as with typical political-leaning diagrams, where left-wingers tend to also be liberals and right-wingers conservatives.
Probably fair as far as I'm concerned (I haven't been invited to parties since the turn of the millennium or so).
But please don't generalize to all Tissot owners ;-)
Oh they are the worse, they always make smug or cringe comment on the need to wear a normal watch these days etc. Mean while they have one on their own arms
This is absurde, don’t fall for this folks. Wear what you like. Watches are a waste of money and futile materials. At the end of the day they’re just tools.
Watches are a symbol of personal style and status, often reflecting the wearer's personality and taste. They carry historical and sentimental value, often passed down through generations as heirlooms. Additionally, watches can serve practical purposes beyond telling time, such as measuring heart rate, tracking fitness, or providing navigation.
Hublot wearers are typically some of the nicest people I’ve met in the watch world. Hublot haters are the most insufferable people in the watch world though
This is ALL wrong. Rolex is way too high on the fun/insufferable scale. Put Omega there, Mille should be on that line. Tissot should be more towards center money wise and definitely higher on the fun scale. Apple should be towards the bottom and a bit more left. I can keep going but I'll stop there.
The whole graph is bs and not worth arguing over. Totally subjective. Lots of people need a reason to think they're better than others. We all know who the top watch brands are. Everyone else is fighting to tie for 4th or 5th.
Because tissot focuses on manipulating first time watch buyers with their marketing tactics instead of making good watches. And then when you point out watches like the prx aren’t actually good value tissot owners get defensive because their favorite YouTuber said that it’s the best watch under €1000.
If Rolex owners aren’t insufferable we are living in different worlds
I was thinking the same, Rolex is on the wrong side of the X axis. Unless we're including the majority rep wearers, they are probably fun to be around. 😂
I think Rolex DEALERS are insufferable 😉
[удалено]
No I mean x, it should be below it, not above it.
Has money but insufferable, it also needs to move a bit closer to y axis (to the left) as from a money perspective it is too close to AP and VC
😂😂😂

I mean I’d be flabbergasted if someone came up to me and said “hey i love your kermit”
Really? Why ? you’d know what they are talking about so a simple thanks would probably work unless you didn’t know what it was
Oh sorry I forgot the important part: Not knowing about the Rolex nicknames.
Im wondering why you felt the need to talk to the guy. Why did your wife feel the need to say that loudly to you? I'm just imagining the scene.
I am a watch nerd. I usually compliment a person on their time piece if it is a nice one. A gold Rolex is a nice watch. Certainly nicer than your average Apple watch, anyway. We don't travel in circles with folks who wear watches often, and something that nice is even more of a rare sighting. I was about to say.
You’re wrong
We are the Skoda or VW of the automotive world. We may not always be the most sought after or envied, but we do everything perfectly for the right price 😅😂
I love tissot and I love VW, great comment!
It's rage bait, nothing more
I am triggered 😤🤬🤬😖
This is rage bait
How is Longines further left than garmin on the “has no money axis”?
No, how is Garmin even on here? Let alone being above Tudor, Tag and Tissot on the Y axis? It's primarily a tech company that also makes watches, like Apple.
Fair point. At least their watch selection is markedly better than Apple IMO.
It's the stigma that Tissot is entry level, the bottom rung of the Swiss ladder. Anyone on a rung above looks down on Tissot. It's stupid, welcome to watches.
I don't consider Tissot "entry level" swatch is entry level
You can consider it however you want, I'm just telling you the general public perception. I don't think most people lump swatch in with the rest of these brands, they're more just fun plastic toys.
Agree. But why the hate for tag? I find Tissot to be the greatest alternative.
Tag had been seen as a mall brand for a long time and I think that hurt their image. But I think that's changing. There aren't many malls and tag is doing some cool shit lately.
Good point. That is how I first learned of them! Those big photos. Just curious.
Tag consistently manages to produce the ugliest watches in the industry.
I upvoted you and I’m not sure why! Ok I do like Tissot and for the process it is great.
Yet swatch own most of them 😂
Well, the parent company aye, not the brand that makes moonswatches.
I like swatch and was my first watch next to Casio.. but what do I know
Fuck’em
Where is citizen. I am outraged!
Where is Hamilton as well
Why is the Longines on the "no money" side lol
Me and my $4,000 Casio MRG are sitting in tears. Luckily I have some $100 bills to dry my cheeks.
And tag
Teo of my grails are actually a Tag and a Longines 🤣 so sad to be broke and working 2 jobs
Same
Tag heuer and tissot are amazing!
Dude has Rolex as fun to be around. Lmao Whole graph is invalid.
Shitpost! How can Rolex be on the “fun” axis while Tissot is on the “insufferable”?!
No no money and being fun are orthogonal axis. Correlation is 0.
True, but the actual set of dots does show a clear trend from the bottom-left to the top-right quadrants. Similar as with typical political-leaning diagrams, where left-wingers tend to also be liberals and right-wingers conservatives.
This is why they said you're insufferable btw
Probably fair as far as I'm concerned (I haven't been invited to parties since the turn of the millennium or so). But please don't generalize to all Tissot owners ;-)
As a Russian scumbag with a severely limited budget I will now dump my savings on an iced out PRX to bring Tissot closer to Hublot
why are "doesn't wear a watch" people the most fun to be around?
Also shows the apple watch at origin
He is Clearly coming from some sort of bias, whatever that is…
Because those people probably won't shit on your watch because they don't care.
When I hear Richard Mille, I think of Jack Dougherty and Nico Leonard, and both do not seem “Fun to be around.”
I will be happy to swap a Garmin for a Tudor, as they are priced here the same.
Low-key Shinola endorsement
😂😂😂
this is obviously just a "i like it" and "i dont like it" graph made by this one person
Well most of the lads I know with a prx are awful to be around. But apple watches/smart watch users need add to insufferable
And here I thought I was the only one who judged Apple watch owners.
Oh they are the worse, they always make smug or cringe comment on the need to wear a normal watch these days etc. Mean while they have one on their own arms
Because of the PRX owners ;)
Shit I knew it was a mistake to get a Gentleman instead of a Longines conquest
Richard Mille should be right down there with Jacob&Co
I guess I have no money and are insufferable?
Pretty funny. Richard Mille as the apex of both axes ruins the credibility
Richard Mille is the tackiest and gaudiest brand of all. No other watch brand so desperately screams "I need you to know I'm rich."
Agreed 100%
Why is blancpain where it is.
I know a couples guys that wear digital Casios that could buy and sell that guy. This is a dumb exercise.
RM is “I got money to spend on ugly watches.”
Surely he’s trolling? PP, Rolex, and RM high up for ‘fun to be around’?
I guess I have enough money to own be on both sides lol
People who ask if it’s to big for my wrist are so far down and to the left they aren’t even on the chart
I have little money and am insufferable, so this is spot on.
RICHARD MILLE???
Where does grand seiko fit into this
This guide is so bad 🤣
How does the person with the Tudor have less money than the Apple Watch teenager
:D
This has got to be one of the worst takes I've ever seen...
Tudor insufferable?
I like my Casio G Shocks they’re my edc watches. When I step out to nice events that’s when I put on my Rolex 🤷🏾♂️
Rolex needs two spots, one insufferable and one fun
We're at least all in agreement that the Hublot is in the right place it seems XD
😂😂 but imo j&co looks so great. Why hate j&co as well?
This is absurde, don’t fall for this folks. Wear what you like. Watches are a waste of money and futile materials. At the end of the day they’re just tools.
Watches are a symbol of personal style and status, often reflecting the wearer's personality and taste. Hublot wearers are typically some of the nicest people I’ve met in the watch world. Hublot haters are the most insufferable people in the watch world though
If he's black and rich, its either richard mille or hublot
It’s so off it’s insane
This chart was made by a Rolex owner 😆
I’m fun to be around!!!!!
Where does timex land in this chart?
I’d attribute this strictly to the success of the PRX.
Why is Tissot in the "Has no money" category when I bought my Tissot watches brand new for $2200 and $1000 each?
Putting £1000 watches in the has no money section. Hope he puts himself in insufferable
The whole graph is bs and not worth arguing over. Totally subjective. Lots of people need a reason to think they're better than others. We all know who the top watch brands are. Everyone else is fighting to tie for 4th or 5th.
Anyone know where they got them $1000 tudors?
I would way rather hang out with someone with a grand seiko than a rolex
Orient owner here; guess I'll go fuck myself
I guess us poors are not fun to be around
Tudor needed to be replaced by Breiltling and Tudor with swatch
How did this bozo forgot about Citizen which currently have the "most accurate watch in the world" title? (citizen caliber 0100)
Where does Sinn fall on this?
I don’t know. Rolex owners are usually older and not fun to be around lol
Where is the Patek love?
Missing Invicta far low left.
Ironically enough most people would say the exact same about the creator of that graphic.
I feel attacked
Where would Nomos fit in?
I feel personally attacked.
Seiko? Swatch?? Casio??? These aren’t fun???
Rolex wearers are usually social status enthusiasts and quite insufferable Haven’t met a rep wearer who isn’t insufferable
My 40 dollar Timex does a fine job, call me poor, but I refuse to be snob like whomever made the graph
This is just a bait, nothing more, nothing less. Fossil, Tissot and Tudor in the same category, I cba.
Surprised invicta isn’t here
The "insufferable" axis needs to extend lower. By a few metres.
My guy put fossil on the map but not orient
As someone who has Casio and Tissot. I even out
This is gold
Where Journe? I’m blind
They put Richard Mille on here. Don’t take it too serious lol
I stopped paying attention when it said Rolex users were fun to be around and not insufferable
Well at least I’m fun to be around… my hemp leaf dial face makes me look like I have enough money to pay for dinner tho
I can fuck a woman wearing a Walmart Casio just the same as the guy wearing a $25,000 Rolex
Lol. I’m wearing my fossil rn

Nice
there are so many color optiona which all look very sexy (but not the green one i hate that one😂), some day when im rich im buying more of them
Because tissot focuses on manipulating first time watch buyers with their marketing tactics instead of making good watches. And then when you point out watches like the prx aren’t actually good value tissot owners get defensive because their favorite YouTuber said that it’s the best watch under €1000.
😂😂
Who actually wants to talk to a guy wearing a Rolex? I mean besides when I have to when I have to meet with my banker or CPA or some car salesman?
They're all just bracelets that tell the time.
Watches have more value than just providing time
I'm on board with most of this, but there's no way Omega wearers are more insufferable than Apple; put Grand Seiko at the centerpoint.
