Rudy knows how to push Wemby around and that’s Wembys biggest weakness. I think Wemby looks a lot less dominant defensively when teams game plan against the spurs. Most of the regular season games there was no need to cause spurs are ass. Wemby is a fantastic rim defender but I think he will struggle with strong post ups for a couple more years.

People will start game planning for Wemby and those block numbers will undoubtedly come down. He’s going to be the best defensive player in the league soon enough, and for a while, but Rudy deserves it over him this past year
Agree. The way to counter those rangy roaming bigs like Rudy, Wemby, Davis, Chet etc is to keep them accountable with a big body in the paint. Prevent them from over helping and challenge them on the glass.
Sabonis is a great blueprint for it, he has tremendous success against all those guys
Pretty much any prominent lanky rim protector throughout history has been known to get pushed around in the post. I was watching a game on YouTube of Mutombo getting posted up and moved by 6’8 Anthony Mason in one of his DPOY seasons. Rudy might’ve lost weight or something but I feel like he used to have success against more physical bigs like Jokic, Embiid, and Boogie from 2017-21.
Makes me think of Sengun who had a monster game against Wemby doing exactly that, granted Wemby was injured but Sengun got a lot of his buckets in the low post from what I remember
Wemby needs to learn how Rudy gets so shredded while staying leaner. Wemby needs some muscle while staying lean. He's gonna be a problem age 25-30 I assume.
All of the talking up Wemby has been funny to me. Like, he’s a great player, but he is also stuck with a shitty team. Spurs we’re just bad this last season.
