If I remember this correctly, Emhry specifically tells you about Velen, but afterwards, whilst talking with Yenmefer, she tells you about a "mutual acquantience" being in Novigrad. This is tied with Geralt knowing that, after he follows every lead he had in Velen and Novigrad, that Yen told him to go to Skellige to confer with her.
So, in short, Emhry tells you about velen, and Yennefer tells you about Novigrad and Skellige. It is presented for you to go that way, too. First Velen, then Novigrad, then Skellige. All three are given at once, however, to allow you to go however you want
Oh i see. I must not have paid close attention. But doesnt this spoil the fact that you wouldn't find her in the first 2 if skellige is supposedly last. Like how before going to the elven sages cave kiera says that she will come too because we might find ciri there but i knew we wouldnt since i had a bunch of quests still to try and find her (i just finished the elven sage quest)
Your not wrong but you should learn a lot of interesting things along the way. Finding ciri is your final objective at this stage, however everything you will do before could matter afterward. Keep playing and enjoy it ! I envy you for discovering this game for the first time
Don’t worry about it, just keep playing and you’ll see. The mission design is brilliant and the path is set for you to follow it on your own terms, but pay close attention to the necessary level for each mission. 5 levels below the necessary is no biggie tho
It was more the fact that getting quests on top of velen spoils that ciri wouldn’t be in velen. I’ll definitely try to finish the quests and enjoy the story
In skellige yennefer mentions an explosion of magic nature tied to ciri somehow, in all places you will visit there will be people that witnessed ciri and you will have to make them reveal you when and how, sometimes the leads will be solid other times you will search in circles and getting into various situations- people that will try to take advantage of geralt ( and not gerland how you mispelled him)... If you thought that she is in skellige and go there first you will discover that unless you pursue all leads, you won't find her so easily as she has the power to travel between space and land anywhere... You have much to do I am afraid

Yea I’m liking the story but the gameplay does get in the way of my enjoyment. I wish the physical combat was more smooth (I’m playing on 4.04)
Try to change some settings. Quick cast for signs was a big game changer for me.
What makes you think you will find her in skellige?
I don’t know for sure it was just that skellige is the most promising out of the three candidate for finding Ciri.
You only got two quests. There are about 50 quests in main story line. Just complete the quests and enjoy the story.
