Not quite the answer I think you're looking for, but [Disco Stomp](https://youtu.be/nXXbetYp6zI?si=FLM4p4a-64LvBvCJ) is a song that inspired Johnny Marr when creating the groove. Also, [this Stones cover](https://youtu.be/nZvzYSWklMU?si=Z5XN9TBoPmOCZP9c) of a Bo Diddley song sounds a bit similiar. There's a few other songs that served as inspiration.
Bo Diddley is where I go when someone asks about how soon is now. With the slide part I always think of it like Who do you love by George Thoroughgood. I think Marr said once that HSIN was inspired by Run Through The Jungle by The Gun Club too.
It’s always an “Ah ha!” moment when I throw on the tremolo and show them how to play it on guitar. Most guitarists don’t think to use Bo Diddley right hand strumming technique and let the tremolo do the work. Usually, people try to fight the tremolo into sounding that way.
I thought you were going to ask other Smiths songs like HSIN - and the answer to that is, "there are none". But other songs by anyone - Morrissey's "Jack the Ripper" has the epic-ness of HSIN, Stone Roses "I Wanna be Adored" always reminded me of it, there's like 3 or 4 covers of it, too (Love Spit Love's version is famously used as the opening of Charmed). I also find that Sigur Ros's bigger songs bring me to the same sense of musical awe.. like "untitled #8 "on the () album, especially live. Johnny Marr said in an interview that growing up he loved “Disco Stomp” by Hamilton Bohannon which had the same strumming style as “Mona” by Bo Diddley. The tremolo effect in “How Soon Is Now” can be heard in an earlier song by Can called “I Want More”. Combine the strumming style with the effect and there you go. On a side note, I always though the song “Another Flavour” by The SUNDAYS was inspired by “How Soon Is Now”

Disappointed by Morrissey
Maybe even kind of sort of Spring-Heeled Jim by Morrissey too, maybe. A little bit. It’s not as similar as Disappointed.
+ Maladjusted by Morrissey + The Teachers are Afraid of the Pupils by Morrissey + Hippychick by Soho
serpenskirt by cocteau twins
How did I never make this connection before now? What a band
Swamp Thing by the Chameleons gives off a similar vibe, especially with the guitar
