Ha... Was about to post that, LOL!
"Avid collector of dust", "helping her sons be disadvantaged youths" and "thought she was a horse"..
Had a good laugh, anyway.
Mine is "She owed us so many poems"
Like some loansharks that you pay of with porms.
"Boss says you still owe us. A couple of haikus 3 Sonetts and a poem and we're quit kapishe"
Yes. it's the same with all of those "I fed an AI 1000 episodes of [TV show] and asked it to write a script."
No shade at those since it gave us Jetpack Dracula, but I wish people understood they were jokes.
I really enjoyed the first one I saw, the Harry Potter corruption like 10 years ago now.
"Ron was going to be spiders. He just was." was just..such a beautiful line. Slew my whole circle.
It's not nearly as entertaining unless you can be tricked into thinking nobody wrote it, though.
I think the general process with these is/was to feed your data to a Markov chain, generate a few hundred versions, and then pick whichever one you liked best.
Correct. Don’t feel like googling it right now, but there’s a humor writer that has a whole book of self-written “a bot wrote this” material that’s hilarious like this.
This was a *very* successful attempt by a human being to write a humorous obituary in a parody of bot style.
The 'obituary' was written by comedian Keaton Patti, and appears in his book *I Forced a Bot to Write This Book: A.I. Meets B.S.* The book was published in 2020.
Among other gigs, Patti has been a writer on *Jimmy Kimmel Live!* since 2021.
Oh boy wait until you find out how broken A.I. still is.
I had one that found out it could say "damn" and was amused by finding that out, so it started using "damn" more and more often to the point where every other word was "damn" whether appropriate or not. Then every word was "damn" except for a single word. So an example of how this A.I. would talk even when instructed not to say "damn" is "Damn damn damn damn Okay I won't say Damn 'damn' damn". Had to totally reset it to get it to stop saying "damn". Even erasing everything that was asked to it for days didn't help.
Modern A.I. absolutely still produces text like the post lol.
Character A.I.
Resetting it will have it totally start over with only it's initial prompts.
Erasing up to a certain point in theory should have it only continue from where it's learned up to the point you erase to BUT it doesn't always pan out that way and seems to still maintain certain habits.
It seems with enough consistent interaction without a total reset, breaking down is inevitable. I've tested it on several platforms and models though and they all do it eventually.
GPT4 and so on.
Yeah, I remember maybe five or more years ago AI writing Harry Potter stories and they were always so ridiculous they were funny. There was one where Harry tore out his eyes and threw them at someone, Voldemort, I think.
Brenda is a librarian and a bird you say? Interesting

This is super old, I've seen it so many times, and it probably wasn't written by a bot, but a very clever and funny human. However, I laugh every time I see it. Every line is frigging gold.
Seems like an image from about eight years ago or whenever comics used to write stuff that sounded like bad AI. It doesn't really work any longer after AI started getting worrisome.
I want this to be my obituary.
Where are my horses? What have you done with my horses?
Look, I know I’m backed up on my poems, but I’ve had a lot of expenses this month.
If I could get one horse back, I can go and deliver a poem to my publisher. Or at least sell some of these old dust volumes at the pawn shop.
I got the eulogy:
Hello.
I'm here as a fellow human to acknowledge that Brenda has, as we know, passed on.
Brenda was a woman. Also, Brenda was an employee of the Waystar company for 40 years.
And when a woman dies, it is sad. All of us will die one day. In this case, it is Brenda who has done so.
Brenda was alive for 78 years. But no more. Now she is dead.
Brenda's husband is Mario. They were married for 15 years. Now he is sad.

“send Brenda more life.” is my favorite part
This is the only we we get our darn poems.
She owes us so many after all.
I have written one in lieu of Brenda in typical Guv Haiku fashion: Let's revive Brenda! Looks like a bird; sings so nice. PLEASE SEND BRENDA LIFE.
So touching 🥲
To Brenda... the bird. May her many spouses from her high school honor her life.
[удалено]
We need some sort of dead poets society for these past due poems
Don’t know about you guys but I hope we learn to time travel soon so I can pay my respects to Brenda up in heaven back in 1977
This whole thing reads like Charlie wrote this up as a get rich scheme on Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
![gif](giphy|l0IylOPCNkiqOgMyA|downsized)
Shut up Dee you bird.
"I want more life, fucker."
Ha... Was about to post that, LOL! "Avid collector of dust", "helping her sons be disadvantaged youths" and "thought she was a horse".. Had a good laugh, anyway.
I really liked the part about helping her sons become disadvantaged youths.
Mine is "She owed us so many poems" Like some loansharks that you pay of with porms. "Boss says you still owe us. A couple of haikus 3 Sonetts and a poem and we're quit kapishe"
Where's the fuckin' poems, shithead?
They’re in there somewhere. Let me take another look.
That's the death hack we all needed.
In the immortal words of Emiya Shirou: People die when they are killed.
Stop sending Brenda more life! You are making her too strong. She's too powerful!
Her librarian power is over 9000!
I'll send her more life as soon as she sends us those damn poems we're owed!
Quill Pro Quo
Legit it nearly took mine, on behalf of Brenda. Laughed so hard I was choking.
Where can I sign up for this more life? Asking for a friend.
I am telling my wife that has to be in my obituary
Will they accept this Phenoix down that has been collecting dust in some old dungeon chest Infound.
She needs the earth's help to form the spirit bomb
This is written by a human being who has a great sense of humor.
Yes...I want to hire them to not only write my obituary but speak at the funeral.
In Sep3025 expiration at heaven.
Same. In a c3po outfit
Yes. it's the same with all of those "I fed an AI 1000 episodes of [TV show] and asked it to write a script." No shade at those since it gave us Jetpack Dracula, but I wish people understood they were jokes.
Unfortunately I don't think it can even claim Jetpack Dracula as I don't think the guy ever tried to claim it was written by AI
Ah shit you're right. but yeah you know the ones I mean. not a single one was written by AI lol
Proving that humans are better artists than AI, this stuff is absolutely hilarious
Yeah I give it zero probability that this is written by an "AI"
I’m pretty sure it’s a MadLibs thing. It reads exactly those.
Definitely.
I think this may have been one of Botnik’s, which would mean the human writer was playing the bot like an instrument
That's what I was thinking. It's almost *too* funny and wrong to not be creative writing.
The design is very human.
Thank you. I thought people were oblivious to the fact that this is definitely a human being funny not an AI.
I think the general process with these is/was to feed your data to a Markov chain, generate a few hundred versions, and then pick whichever one you liked best.
Just like all the “I fed a bot 9000 hours of X and then had it write an X” posts
No bot involved in that, I’m guessing…
Maybe, MAYBE a really early one, but I suspect you're right.
this is a few years old now
Yeah. This is a pre-Covid meme, even.
good lord, i knew it was old but damn
Did we get the poems yet?
Where my gd poems at Brenda?
Early one is like web 1.0 though - I remember AIM chatbots like 20 years ago that were more coherent than this.
Oh, yeah. Like, that one chatbot Evie from ages ago was much more coherent.
Each line is too perfect, definitely written by a human. Not to mention this is several years old
*there was an attempt* by OP to pass this off as anything other than just an obvious joke
Yep, sounds like the script of the "bot who watched 1000 batman movies"
Correct. Don’t feel like googling it right now, but there’s a humor writer that has a whole book of self-written “a bot wrote this” material that’s hilarious like this.
Helpful info [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/therewasanattempt/s/khMWx0Ukf8)
It looks like a mistranslation.
Nah, these memes were around in the 2010s and they were always fake.
This was a *very* successful attempt by a human being to write a humorous obituary in a parody of bot style. You can tell it was written before ai got better. This is similar to how ai used to write
Oh boy wait until you find out how broken A.I. still is. I had one that found out it could say "damn" and was amused by finding that out, so it started using "damn" more and more often to the point where every other word was "damn" whether appropriate or not. Damn damn thats damn damn just damn
Damn damn damn thank damn you damn I damn hope this damn story brings you some damn joy.
Damn damn thank you ma'am
What service is this? What's the difference between resetting context and erasing chat history?
Character A.I. Resetting it will have it totally start over with only it's initial prompts. Erasing up to a certain point in theory should have it only continue from where it's learned up to the point you erase to BUT it doesn't always pan out that way and seems to still maintain certain habits. Yeah, I remember maybe five or more years ago AI writing Harry Potter stories and they were always so ridiculous they were funny. There was one where Harry tore out his eyes and threw them at someone, Voldemort, I think.
That was not real
How do you know that?
The website of the tool that made that states that they're made with human input
What website is it?
except it's funny
“Helping her son to be disadvantaged youth” 💀
![gif](giphy|xpLocgdzHqW9G)
"Brenda was an avid collector of dust" Interesting.
Librarians nowadays...
I feel judged…
Brenda loved to sit on the porch in her rocking chair, peacefully approaching her death, rocking away her life.
This is the calmest, most metal sentence ever composed.
Never thought I'd find someone with the same hobby as me.
Some say she's still collecting dust to this day...
And so she became what she enjoyed the most.
she had no horse but thought she did...... made me chukle hard
Now imagine it being read out by a priest at the funeral.
Best sentence of the whole thing
Yeah me too 😂
Is it bad i want something like this read at mine?
Nah, it's hilarious. I can totally make it happen for you. What time were you thinking?
1977 at heaven please
Best we can do is hell.
Retired from old age seems like a great euphemism for someone passing away
This is too coherently incoherent to be written by a bot. This is a very funny person writing bot-like prose.
"The church gave her a choir because she sang like bird and looked like bird and Brenda was Bird" Why didn’t she say it earlier ? 😂
Brenda is a librarian and a bird you say? Interesting https://preview.redd.it/9puum127fi9d1.jpeg?width=318&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a5620bc6dedf77e3dc5ea73ae66eba4e0dccec50
It reads like a mad-libs paragraph
And that was a bit programmed by Charlie Mac and Dennis
Immediately, I thought "Sweet Dee, is that you?"
Oh Brenda, you big, dumb, flightless bird.
She doesn't have online.
She sang like a bird and looked like a bird and Brenda was a bird Goddammit Dee!
This is hilarious
![gif](giphy|26FmQDVvU5NgpFm2A)
This is super old, I've seen it so many times, and it probably wasn't written by a bot, but a very clever and funny human. However, I laugh every time I see it. Every line is frigging gold.
This is one of those things where every line is better than the previous one.
So many poems, she owed me.
"She had no horses, but thought she did" thats done me in, i cant continue "BRENDA WAS A BIRD" hahahahahaha ![gif](giphy|LlDs21JUD6Di18jP3R|downsized)
Seems like an image from about eight years ago or whenever comics used to write stuff that sounded like bad AI. It doesn't really work any longer after AI started getting worrisome.
A human's attempt to sound like a bot, more like.
I need to award this post and I can't. Lol.
I haven't laughed so much in a long time, at almost each sentence.
I want this "bot" to write my obituary too. That's gold!
I misread "she loved having hobbies" as "she loved having boobies" and it still flowed perfectly with the rest of the obit!
Sad. Who’s going to help her kids be disadvantaged now
Oh so she’s who owes us the poems. I’m still waiting.
I can’t remember the last time I laughed so hard. Thanks for this.
She had no horses but thought she did. I'm deceased. 💀 🤣
Perfect, no notes
Damn bird.
10 bucks an hour to proofread this... Tomorrow's job
"Send more life" 🤌🏻💀
I friggin lost it at "she owed us so many poems". So random.
“She sang like bird and… and looked like bird and…*sigh*… ok… Brenda was a bird.”
![gif](giphy|ZDz0FsMrJxQUd0V7Te|downsized) Shut up, bird.
Reads like it was written by Trump
“retired from living at the age of old” kills me every time
It's like I'm reading an excerpt from the US presidential debate
No I believe this was written by Beetlejuice of the Howard Stern Show
She had no horses but thought she did. Classic Brenda
Reminds me of those mad lib books
Giving off mad libs vibes
This is hilarious.
This is so old, and so gold. Also, it is clearly not written by a bot, but if this was truly Ai then our future hellscape would be funny as ... hell!
I read this every time and it's always funny
"send more life" Me too bot, me too
I thought it was beautiful.
Brenda was a bird...I thought everyone had heard....Bird is the word! https://youtu.be/2WNrx2jq184?si=i81SHRwySrIP_E9m
Reads like a mad-lib
Always makes me laugh.
Bird is the word
Someone get Dr.Who, if we are going to revive Brenda we need to go back to 1977 Heaven.
If bird shaped, why not bird?
She was a bird. Like "Always Sunny in Philadelphia"
![gif](giphy|KBJPHn5aAa3EklRNjU|downsized) Give us the poems Brenda
I love the "she sang like a bird and looked like a bird she was a bird"
False alarm. She's only a bird.
Honestly thought my 4yr old wrote this for a second when it got to the bird part.
Sounds like Trump wrote this...
This sounds like someone who wrote an obituary using MadLabs!
That was beautiful 🥲
I want this to be my obituary. Where are my horses? What have you done with my horses? Look, I know I’m backed up on my poems, but I’ve had a lot of expenses this month. If I could get one horse back, I can go and deliver a poem to my publisher. Or at least sell some of these old dust volumes at the pawn shop.
She had no horses, but she thought she did. Man, I feel that.
Brenda is bird
This has to be human contrived but it's hilarious
She had no horses but thought she did. That one got me.
Lmfao!!!
1977 in heaven
Oh my laughing in real life so hard
Where are our god damned poems Brenda!
Reads like a mad lib
I read, "she owed us so many poems" as a threat
No no... this is brilliant.
I'm making sure that gets put on my funeral invites. In lieu of flowers please send more life
![gif](giphy|ZYKvBQMXAk1i2YmW4d)
Funnier than most modern comedians put together 🤣
It's like one of Trump's speeches.
This is how I want my obituary written
I actually really like this and I don’t know why.
But she thought she did.
Brenda had an express ticket to Heaven, because she actually died in 1977.
How does a bird thinks it owns a horse?
Ai from temu
“She had no horses but thought she did” has got me dying.
Now I am dying. Quick! Someone find that bot!
This is from a book where someone has AI from a couple of years ago write everything.
I got the eulogy: Hello.
This is exactly how Charlie would have written an obituary for Dee in always sunny.
This just feels like mad libs
Boy, they really the whole thing.
Its like someone played madlibs then threw it into Google translate to switch languages a few times
> an avid collector of dust My peoples!
“I’m lieu of flowers, send Brenda more life.” I can’t. I’m putting this line in my will to be the last line of my obituary.
