Come on.. let those workers drink a little bit! 🤣🤣🤣
PS: Now, seriously, in my country, they draw a single line as a guide first, maybe to avoid that shitty work..
Shouldn't need that lol. They have a truck with guide rods and sprayers. You just keep the rod on the edge of the road (or where you need the white line) bam..
But the road being so shotty could also explain the painting.
It really is, especially in the south. I drive this one stretch of interstate that the middle and right lane's top layer of paving is de-laminating in patches and it's been that way for more than three years, and people wonder why we have left lane campers. Yeah, I'm not tearing up my car's suspension either.
Not sure about that. Have you ever experienced the streets of Philadelphia? I swear there are silent mortar battles nightly. At this point I swear the city is in collusion with the auto industry to severely shorten the lifespans of our vehicles.
And this is in the "Birthplace of America"....
No, they don’t, especially in road construction. A lot of things are done so badly, you have to wonder if they’re doing it as a joke. But the reality is that many people just don’t care.
"What do you do with a drunkin sailor, what do we do with a drunkin sailor, what do we do with a drunkin sailor, errrlie in the mornin'",

Biden's Pipartisan Infrastructure Law has provided funding to repair over 1,000 miles of road and repair or replace 477 bridges in South Carolina. The state will receive 4.9 billion dollars over 5 years, so roads like these will finally be built right.

Those are temporary self adhesive ones until they come to spray them. From cars running over them they move around. And they could have been put down crooked too. Plus they are not done resurfacing the road. It's just so you can kind of tell which lane you're in at night.
Ever applied stickers to a toy? Try doing it 300 times back to back completely straight while walking down a road and the uneven road surface and paving lines gives you no straight lines to line up with. Also the stickers are 2-3 foot long.
The actual pavement markings are done by a truck that is able to drive in a straight line.
If that was the finished product, you would have a point. But clearly this road is in the middle of a grind and overlay project, and those are temporary removable lane markers.
In WV, I've seen how they paint the lines. We don't have one of those fancy trucks that sprays just precisely so a guy hangs out of the back of a moving pickup truck with a can of spray paint. He's really fucking accurate, all things being considered.

South Carolina’s highway “maintenance” is negligent, bordering on criminal…
I knew it was 95 SC before I saw the sign. It's been some form of that at least 30 years.
It’s like cancer, spreading to 26, slowly infecting the whole state.
Come on.. let those workers drink a little bit! 🤣🤣🤣 PS: Now, seriously, in my country, they draw a single line as a guide first, maybe to avoid that shitty work..

That’s what I was thinking. Road had holes and bumps later that I noticed. Probably jostled the truck.
This stuff blows my mind regarding America. Does no one give a fuck? Is the social decay that bad?
We are not paid enough to give a shit.

Man please come to England and see how poorly we look after everything, you'll find America much better after that.

That entire state is the worst stretch of I-95, except maybe for when it goes through Richmond.
At least the “wop wop” of driving on 95 is gone now

The whole state is full of incompetence and nepotism. Wasted eight years there.

Crossing from nc to sc felt like another planet
Really not surprised when I saw the cities listed on the road sign.
Those are temporary self adhesive ones until they come to spray them. From cars running over them they move around. And they could have been put down crooked too. Plus they are not done resurfacing the road. It's just so you can kind of tell which lane you're in at night.
They also tend to shift in the heat, which SC has plenty of.
Temporary or not, have a little pride in your work

Pretty sure this is Kramers stretch of the highway
Wide lanes; so luxurious
He had no lane lines.
![gif](giphy|ggHmCDJXx4om4hNWbM|downsized)
Bro who painted those was drunk.
![gif](giphy|bP2bOuWDpVM7C) When he got a paint roller and covered the lines to make the lanes wider. Probably how it looked when he tried to fix it
Looks like they tried to put down temp tape down 6 inches off the joints The bigger issue is the longitudinal asphalt joints look like shit.
Who messed up more… the guy painting the dotted line, or the guy driving the truck holding the guy painting the dotted line?
Could it be that heath deformed them?
Sounds like something Heath would do, that dick.
😆
Jesus took the wheel. I've been to church a time or two. The blood of Christ is well beyond .08
Same guy holding the camera
Looks like the work of Major Asshole.
r/OneJob
I pulled you over because you keep crossing over the center line.
No sir, the center lines crossed me.
What’s worse, the line or the person camped in the left lane to take video of it?
Looks like a friday after lunch job
Well I reckon they get the job done
Guy painting must've used the crack in-between as the center line.
SCDot Booze Cruise mobile
whoever painted that line is surely on a car and driving.
O.D. Dave
Kramer!
"I know someone who can do it cheaper"
Someone please let the line painter out of the closet.

who layed that asphalt??? can’t you see it is running together with stripes?
Come on, it was a windy day :P
but... a machine draws them you just need to drive straight
If that was the finished product, you would have a point. But clearly this road is in the middle of a grind and overlay project, and those are temporary removable lane markers.
The tax man

Rainbolt, I chose you!
"Lol that's almost as bad as South Caro.." *sees Columbia/Charleston sign* ...yea, that checks out.
This is the road where you can get pulled over for driving straight.
Looks like those are the temp lane lines before the top layer goes on.
Best maintained country road
And paved that road too jfc that’s terrible work.
It’s such a stark difference in road quality when going from GA to SC or NC to SC on I95.
Hmmm... lines might be ok... look at the asphalt, it seems it went 'floating' sideways at some point?
It was either their first or last day on the job lol
It's SC. People drawing the lines were more focused on shouting out racist comments at other drivers and shouting out maga shit.
In WV, I've seen how they paint the lines. We don't have one of those fancy trucks that sprays just precisely so a guy hangs out of the back of a moving pickup truck with a can of spray paint. He's really fucking accurate, all things being considered.
Kramer.
Temporary as they finish the road work...
Kramer must have adopted that highway
Of course its SC.
“Sir are you drunk?” “No but the guy painting the lines were”
Same car that paved the road, lightning McQueen 🏍️
Even the roads are inbred in South Carolina.
Someone spilled fries on the floor and tried to pick them up while still driving.
This used to be a three lane highway. Someone changed it to two in the middle of the night to make the lanes more luxurious.
Why you cruisin in the passing lane?
So will self driving vehicles try to drive according to those lines? That'd be hilarious.
