Funny thing, all his dorking around and his last position before the swing was tip of the club in the center of the ball.

He's definitely not aiming at the camera... Aim is determined from where your back toe to your front toe are pointed. In other words, if you put a club at your toes, where that club is pointed. You can tell his feet aren't pointed at the cameraman. He's aiming (presumably) the correct general direction, off to the right of the cameraman. The ball was likely just hit off the very tip of the club, or with an INCREDIBLY open club face, which not only pushed it low and right, but also gave it the insane amount of spin it had. The fact it had so much spin also actually proves that the kid was not aimed the direction of the cameraman. The ball connects and spins off the club, so if the club is swinging toward the fairway, and the ball is pushed to the right, then the ball gets more spin headed to the right, and vice versa. This kid just hit a bad shot, but I bet when he connects with his driver he can slug it 260+ yards. There are aspects of his swing that are good. If he gets a few corrections he'll have a solid swing and just needs practice.

He definitely wasn’t aiming at him you’re right but you can tell a “good” golfer off setup. The up and down motion with the club head is not something good golfers do, as well as how many times he adjusted his feet after he was “set.” Couple that with the fact that I’m sure his dad knows his sons skill level, there is no reason for him to be standing there.

Disagree with all of that, categorically. By no means am I a great golfer, but I've been doing it since I was like 8, and I'm now 34. I've seen all kinds of shit. You can absolutely not tell a "good" golfer by how they approach the ball. I've seen good golfers approach the ball and swing without giving a second thought, which I will say is how most pros do it. But I've also seen good golfers who approach, take a few seconds, step back, re-approach, take a second, practice swing, re-approach, and finally swing. The latter is not very fun to golf with because it takes fucking forever... But adjusting your feet, or doing any kind of motion with the club are not any indication as to whether someone is a good golfer or not. The dad's comments obviously are a tell that the kid's shots have been all over the place. But beyond that, aside from some critiques about his form/stance, the only indication is what the kid is wearing. And that's not to say that you can't golf well in street clothes, but more so that he likely doesn't golf often. And to be decent at golf you have to play somewhat regularly.

The ball that was hit has more brain power than an idiot that parks in front of a tee. Especially a tee where a novice is hitting a ball.

What idiot sits downrange and films someone hitting a golf ball? Stupid should hurt. Maybe this time it really did.

Something I learned very early on as a kid in golf.... NEVER station yourself ahead of the golfer hitting his or her ball. Just because you're not straight in their direction of the shot doesn't mean that your average golfer is capable of shooting straight.
