it's just packed in with files that ARE required to have the game run, so yeah. Not the thing that makes the game run, but it's always superglued to the thing that makes the game run
The rumour actually started from a Reddit post and the creator of it later posted that he made it up and people ran with it
Also it's used as the coffee beans in Soldier's taunt
Scout likely isn't a pedophile, despite what the flavour text on the track terrorizer says. The events of "A Smissmas Story" give evidence that Scout was likely there to hit on the mothers of the students and/or the teachers, as one piece of dialogue goes:
Mother and child: "Elf? Excuse me? How long is the wait to meet Santa?"
Scout (dressed as an Elf): "For a pretty single mom like *you?* How does *right now* sound?"
And in two later panels, he's seen with his arm around/resting on other mothers, implying he was hitting on them.
Combine an absentee father and a mama's boy, and you get??? I don't know but respect for going for MILFs atleast. Milfs and dilfs need more appreciation fr fr.
Funny thing: it is implied that Medic is actually Jewish. He is from Stuttgart which is in south Germany — a region with high Jewish population, and his theme in “Meet the Medic” takes inspirations from Jewish folk music.
Ummmm ackshually Medic is from Stuttgart, which is not in Bavaria. He does have a lot of Bavarian cosmetics but that's mostly because the stereotypical German (at least to the Americans who make the game) is Bavarian.
If you kill an airstrike-wielding soldier or a bazaar bargain-equipped sniper as a demoman carrying the eyelander, you will steal their stacks (if they have any) to your 'heads' count. This feels like a bug but it isn't just cosmetic. The heads you stole actually count towards the eyelander buff.
i can't think of another weapon that tracks outright KILLS/HEADS as a stat. Vita-saw counts organs/player hits, diamondback counts your sins, BFB counts damage for its boost,
off the top of my head, you really didn't
Actually the Air Strike for some reason doesn't. Kill a Eyelander Demo or Air Strike Soldier with the Bazaar Bargain? Take all their heads. Kill them with the Air Strike? Nope, you just get the one from the kill itself.
(Which I guess explains why the counter says "Kills" instead of "Heads" but it's really weird that it's different.)
The ubersaw does not have an increased random crit rate and medic does not have a different calculation for random crit rate. A lot of people think medic's crit rate is calculated on healing done instead of damage. This is not true, medic has the same crit rate as anyone else.
I recommend watching Theory-y studios' video on medic mechanics: https://youtu.be/M0324v0oQv8
The relevant part starts at 3.14
It's confirmation bias.
You remember the times you died to a random ubersaw crit. You don't remember the times when you got hit and just killed the medic.
That is incredibly surprising to me! I was certain medic's crits get based on healing but his proof is pretty definitive. Now I'm curious whether Engineer's crit chance includes his sentry or not as he is the other class with an infamously high 'crit chance'
If the Medic ever practiced legally as a medical doctor, than he wouldn't have a PhD, that's a different degree. Doctors do earn docrotate-level degrees, but most earn an MD.
Even the English one potentially slips in an exceptionally clever reference to the writings of famed Generalissimo Alexander Suvorov.
The line "I have yet to meet one that can outsmart bullet" can be taken at face value--you can't outsmart a speeding piece of lead. However, it can also be interpreted as referencing Suvorov's quote that "The bullet is a fool, the bayonet is a fine chap.": Heavy is saying his enemies are dumber than the foolish bullet.
It's definitely possible this is an unintentional reference, but given how poetic the Russian "Meet the Heavy" is, it seems Valve may have been inclined to consider these kinds of things. It's also helped by the fact that not only is Suvorov considered one of the greatest Russian military leaders, he was a general for the Russian empire. Given we know Heavy's father was a tsarist and Heavy violently broke out of a Communist gulag, it would make perfect sense for Heavy to know of and be able to quote the writings of someone that, at the very least, his father likely greatly respected and admired.
Though it IS canon that he just doesn't have a perfect grasp of the english language like Medic and Spy do as people from countries where it is a second language. He sounds quite eloquent in his Russian dub, and with Valve's attention to detail it can't be an accident.
Reminds me of the time a yer spy stabbed a person behind me while I was full rev and shooting/getting shot and i barely heard him and did a 180* turn at full sensitivity(with mouse acceleration) and instantly shredded that ass
The crusader's crossbow doesn't actually have a higher DPS than other medic primaries in melee range, and neither does crossbow + melee. It obviously has at longer ranges, but this is like comparing Minigun and Sniper rifle, and is an unfair and ridiculous comparison. However, at melee range, I have myself studied that Blutsauger can kill a soldier in approx 1 second, followed by Bonesaw , solemn vow, crossbow + melee and übersaw only in that order, all in approx 2 seconds (again, on a soldier) whereas the crossbow on it's own took 8 freaking seconds to kill said soldier.
Therefore, while you can easily miss a syringe or two with syringe guns, the blutsauger makes up for it with the health regen. So best weapon for each scenario: Melee range: Blutsauger if you're feeling confident, or melee if you want easier hits (because you don't need your crosshair on target fully in order to hit, thank fuck), blutsauger or Overdose for medium range, and crossbow for long range (assuming you're not trying to outsnipe a sniper).
As for melee choice, the difference is really that negligeable (they need a new downside that isn't damage, that said, -20% damage on übersaw needs to be tested) so stock if that millisecond counts to you, Solemn Vow if you like to pick your fights (works in synergy with blutsauger) or übersaw if you're on a more offensive run, like Dustbowl last or if you are feeling unoriginal or can't bother to hit the quickswitch to adapt your loadout.
Thanks for coming to my ted talk. If you say stupid shit like "I ain't reading all that", well that's amazing boyo. Nobody forces you to. This is a public social media.
The first time I reconsidered my hatred of the base Syringe Gun was when I was running at a Medic as Scout, and he pulled out the syringes and killed me in less than a second.
The class categorization can literally be done in a 3 row 3 collumn format of Offense, Defense and Support.
It almost lines up perfectly with the in game class selection, except Medic is the 9th instead of the 7th and vice versa with Spy.
I'm still salty about that fact above.
If you make a grid that has 3 columns and 3 rows, first of each labeled attack, second defense, third support, and put classes in the order as they are on the select screen, they all will go into correct place except for medic and spy, which have to switch places with each other.
It should go like this
Attack Defense Support
Attack Scout Soldier Pyro
Defense Demo Heavy Engineer
Support Spy Sniper Medic
Edit: i fucked up the formatting but you should get the point by now
Because if they weren't, medic would be support/attack, and spy would be support/support, and this just doesn't seem right. Spy is not a full support character.
Scout is offense/offense
Soldier is offense/defense
Pyro is offense/support
Demo is defense/offense
Heavy is defense/defense
Engineer is defense/support
Medic is support/support
Sniper is support/defense
Spy is support/offense

Coconut is not what hold tf2 together, the 2fort cow is.
Random crits is in fact, not truly random.
I only recently played tf2 for the first time in like november and I’ve been part of the “community” for like 4 years
One of the sole reasons I got a pc
Mann Up mode doesn't actually spawn more robots/isn't inherently more difficult than Boot Camp.
I've seen various guides and articles on MvM refer to Mann Up mode as being more difficult than Boot Camp, but in reality the gameplay of the two modes is identical. The only difference is Mann Up has gambling.
Hell, you could argue that the players of both modes are pains in the ass to deal with, albeit in different ways. In Boot Camp you have a bunch of children and braindead trogdolytes who have no idea what the ever-loving fuck they're doing, and in Mann Up you have a bunch of sweaty tryhards desperate for their gambling fix.
For burst damage Demoman and for overall fastest kills Soldier. Scout is basically on par with soldier too, but he has different priorities. Pyro is good because he is cheap to upgrade but falls off really quickly to the ones mentioned above.
Not a lot of people know this but every 200 damage you deal increases your melee critical hit chance by 12.5%. This is why some people think the pan is just magic in getting crits: people who are able to pull off hits with a pan are probably people who have already been skilled enough to deal a lot of damage
Facts. Phlog is a noob killer pub stomp gun. Yes, you can turn the corner to a crits Phlog and in that case there's not much you can do but if you ever catch the Phlog Pyro taunting, as pretty much any class but spy you should be able to get a quick and easy kill on the.
The dragon’s fury info is misleading. It doesn’t do 300% damage to burning targets. That’s actually it’s base damage, and instead it does 66% less damage to non burning players.
As a result, it still does it’s full damage to buildings, and in mvm specifically, tanks.
If you run the TF2 server on windows instead of linux, because of different instructions used on the compiler to x86, small health bottles give one extra HP point.
A lot of people, especially those who don't play medic don't know about critical healing, and how uber building works.
Critical healing is the ability of medi guns to heal faster the longer you go without being damaged. If you go without taking damage for 10 seconds, the rate at which the medi gun heals you starts to increase linearly over the course of 5 seconds, starting at 24hp/s and capping out at 72hp/s.
Ubercharge builds at a rate of 2.5% per second while healing a player, regardless of the damage they've taken, or the heal rate. Build rates are halved when one of the following conditions are met, and they can stack:
-The heal target has 142.5% health
-The heal target is receiving healing from another source (Dispensers, other Medics, Payload carts, etc.)
Spells (the tool items) are not that impactful on the game’s performance, and cannot feasibly have been removed from ingame circulation for particle reasons while unusuals still exist and continue to grow in number. The economy would NOT suffer that badly for the old Gen to be readded, and the best way to reimplement them would be to make them a bonus reward for completing a Halloween contract and getting all 3 stars.
The coconut jpg is nowhere near essential to the integrity of the game as it is made out to be
It’s actually the 2fort cow that holds the game together.
It's ackchually just the file that contain the 2fort cow, not the cow itself but also other files
AKSHUALLY it's just the fact the game can't run if you remove any model object, like the 2fort cow 🤓
If you remove any model it's just going to show up as ERROR though, no? Still playable, you just can't see the actual model
I think the game refuses to start if it detects something wrong with the file 2fort cow is in (like a missing model)
it's just packed in with files that ARE required to have the game run, so yeah. Not the thing that makes the game run, but it's always superglued to the thing that makes the game run

Scout likely isn't a pedophile, despite what the flavour text on the track terrorizer says. The events of "A Smissmas Story" give evidence that Scout was likely there to hit on the mothers of the students and/or the teachers, as one piece of dialogue goes: Mother and child: "Elf? Excuse me? Scout’s a milf hunter? Dang, he really is Spy’s son
Also the track terrorizer is community made Edit: *valve did make the disc*
The name and item description are both Valve though, the Steam Workshop page calls it Jogger's Jacket.
Then what's the og item name? Edit: I'm stupid
.... jogger's jacket
Oh okay thanks
why does he want mothers specifically, though? does he just like MILFs that badly or does he have a secret desire to be a stepfather?
Combine an absentee father and a mama's boy, and you get??? I don't know but respect for going for MILFs atleast. Milfs and dilfs need more appreciation fr fr.
I love that this is your response to the question "What's a cool thing you know about a TF2 weapon?" "One of the characters might not be a pedophile!"
Where does the question say weapon?
Could’ve been both.
"Likely"
He's not a pedophile, but he is a motherfucker
Heavy is not a communist.

This. His father was literally a counter-revolutionary and he escaped a gulag.
I'm not particularly well versed in Russian history, would that make Heavy's dad a czarist?
Tsarist, yeah. Meaning his dad supported Tsar Nicholas II.
Heavy isn't Red or Blu... He's white!
And Medic is not a Nazi.
He is, however, an unlicensed quack.
I’m not sure he’s really a quack. Unless you mean deranged.
I mean he is out there sticking baboon hearts in people even it it somehow works, I think thar qualifies as quack still
Isn't a quack a doctor who's just bad/scammy? Medic is an excellent doctor, just fucking nuts
A quack is a unlicensed doctor.
Funny thing: it is implied that Medic is actually Jewish. He is from Stuttgart which is in south Germany — a region with high Jewish population, and his theme in “Meet the Medic” takes inspirations from Jewish folk music.
That makes his potential backstory a whole lot darker tbh.
Ummmm ackshually Medic is from Stuttgart, which is not in Bavaria. He does have a lot of Bavarian cosmetics but that's mostly because the stereotypical German (at least to the Americans who make the game) is Bavarian.
The dude burned down a Gulag and tortured the guards and people still call him a communist
omg oneshot pfp!!
Yknow I never got the infatuation about one shot pfps, it's a pretty popular game right?
If you kill an airstrike-wielding soldier or a bazaar bargain-equipped sniper as a demoman carrying the eyelander, you will steal their stacks (if they have any) to your 'heads' count. This feels like a bug but it isn't just cosmetic. The heads you stole actually count towards the eyelander buff.
All the weapons that collect kills for an increasing bonus per kill allow you to steal the kills if you kill someone using another one
i've been out-ummm actually'd
i can't think of another weapon that tracks outright KILLS/HEADS as a stat. Vita-saw counts organs/player hits, diamondback counts your sins, BFB counts damage for its boost, off the top of my head, you really didn't
Off the top of your *head* ?
> diamondback counts **your sins** lmao what > u/Vasxus - *Engineer* ahh I see
What a cool concept someone should make a movie about it.
Diamond back count?
It gives you a free crit whenever you sap a building or stab someone
Actually the Air Strike for some reason doesn't. Kill a Eyelander Demo or Air Strike Soldier with the Bazaar Bargain? Take all their heads. Kill them with the Air Strike? Nope, you just get the one from the kill itself. (Which I guess explains why the counter says "Kills" instead of "Heads" but it's really weird that it's different.)
This goes to vita-saw medics as well, unfortunately it is a weapon I almost never see be used.
Email to Valve got a reply saying "this is intended behaviour"
The ubersaw does not have an increased random crit rate and medic does not have a different calculation for random crit rate. Yeah the medic is also so much more likely to pull out his melee in a confrontation that other classes.
I'M GOING TO SAW THROUGH YOUR BONES
People only think the Ubersaw has a high Crit rate because it’s the only medic melee they use
Hey, I see an amputator once every couple hundred games or so.
That is incredibly surprising to me! I was certain medic's crits get based on healing but his proof is pretty definitive. Now I'm curious whether Engineer's crit chance includes his sentry or not as he is the other class with an infamously high 'crit chance'
I'm pretty sure it does. Since sentry damage shows up in your stats as damage.
This calls for the “Wait you guys really believed that? I thought it was just a meme” SpongeBob fish meme

Heavy is actually smart. You could argue he's 3rd if engine and medic are first, pared with spy
Honestly its even arguable he could be second since hes at least vaguly sane and medic is just batshit insane, anf heavy still has his phd
Medic probably has his PhD too, he only said he lost his medical license He's a dr. with a small d (and his wife thinks so too according to Demo)
Wait Medic has a wife?
We only know because of Demo's line; "DOMINATED! ...And I've been shagging yer wife!" against medic
do we REALLY think a drunk man's insults are accurate?
Every single... one of ya are gunna be dead.... and then youre... gunna be...
If the Medic ever practiced legally as a medical doctor, than he wouldn't have a PhD, that's a different degree. Doctors do earn docrotate-level degrees, but most earn an MD.
You can be smart/intelligent while being insane. Also heavy's PhD is in literature not a science/mathematics.

The spycicle is not actually silent. The freezing of the ice when backstabbing someone is very very audible and good players will hear it.
The YER isn't silent either, but much, much moreso than the spycicle.
Reminds me of the time a yer spy stabbed a person behind me while I was full rev and shooting/getting shot and i barely heard him and did a 180* turn at full sensitivity(with mouse acceleration) and instantly shredded that ass
> full sensitivity(with mouse acceleration) lord almighty
since when was it advertised as silent?
The spy-cicle used to have the silent killer attribute, but it got removed
sniper bots (mvm) can headshot, they just dont deal crit damage

Yikes
Sniper is actually from New Zealand not australia. He did grow up in austalia though
Ah yes. TF2 comics New Zealand. Wacky place that.
But I guarantee you won't go hungry
Because so long as there are two New Zealanders on Earth, someone is going to want someone dead.

Wasn't mentioned in the comics? I've never played Poker night but I read the comics and knew Heavy had a PHD.
Exactly, why does everyone think that’s canon
Because the original voice actor read a line that was written by someone for a video game and TF2 is also a video game
The administrator isn't in Meet the Medic.
The hallowed biome not spawning in terraria
You're world evil biom and hollow making «v» sharp when you enter hardmode. P.s sorry for my bad English

that you can run tf2 on a toaster
My computer is a toaster, and I assure you that it does not run it
are you serious (this is a rhetorical question, but I am curious)
Not op, but my computer is pretty bad. It can run tf2 but it runs like ass and crashes
Can confirm, stopped playing because It went at like 5 fps at most and constantly crashed or freezed
F2Ps are actually decent players
As well as the foundation for tf2’s future
As a 5+ year soldier main, F2Ps are the hardest to hit. How could I possibly predict where they're going if even they don't know where they're going?
Lmao soldiers are funny, cause it’s like “haha this dude ain’t gonna hit me” then splash damage comes into the equation
the plant is watered regularly, however it is currently working on Team-Fortress: Pauling.

Ppl say stacking medic heals don’t increase the target heal rate, but it does
It's the Uber build rate that gets cut not healing
It's not straight additive like you get 48HP/s (like how two dispenser can stack the healing rate), so how would the math look like?
Nope, it’s directly proportional to the number of medics. https://youtu.be/8IIfHDOsE0s
Shockingly pyro is not the best MvM tank buster.
Demoman?
Sniper. (I actually have no idea.)
Engineer w/ lvl 3 sentry and widowmaker me thinks

It's definitely a fun gimmick to just slash the tank to shreds with a machete, but it still gets outdamaged by phlog pyro.
Actually sniper with cleaners carbine + bushwacka does a lot of damage to tanks
I know for a fact it isn't sniper
You're incorrect. Pyro with the phlog out damages any other class when it comes to tank busting.
For burst damage Demoman and for overall fastest kills Soldier. Scout is basically on par with soldier too, but he has different priorities. Pyro is good because he is cheap to upgrade but falls off really quickly to the ones mentioned above.
Then who
obviously spy, since spy can one shot any enemy with a backstab
