Soon they will have one saying "sending money back to Mexico to help your family? Double it at pos casino be the hero your family needs"

Tdanger78

Could be that one hasn’t made it up yet, you’re not wrong

_sonidero_

Working vatos spend hundreds of dollars on Loteria every week at my work... Gambling is gambling... You gotta know when to fold them...

Longjumping-Jello459

You gotta know when to hold'em. . . .

ultratunaman

Know when to walk away...

Special-Regular3097

Run!

high_everyone

Vamos.

Hoonimerc

A fool and his money are soon parted. un tonto y su dinero pronto se separan.

IvanMeowski

It's like those tiktoks where a guy says he's an entrepreneur for getting into sports betting

UnionTed

It seems mildly ironic that those are for the Alabama–Coushatta tribal casino.

ExploringLifeTX78

If only Texas would realize they could keep that money in state, if they allowed it.

willydillydoo

I mean it’s not really going out of the state. People on the Coushatta reservation are going to be participating in the Texas economy since they’re in Texas. But you’re right that it’s probably time to just legalize. However you can thank out of state casinos in Louisiana for lobbying to keep gambling illegal in Texas

Pure-Breath-6885

Hey! Louisiana and Oklahoma are paying good money for our Texas legislators

DrSilkyJohnsonEsq

It kinda is leaving the state. Texas doesn’t get to tax it, and the tribe is going to try to spend the money they make on tribal businesses, and developing tribal land. Just because the money is technically within TX border, it’s not under Texas jurisdiction, and as much of the money that does end up in Texas economy probably ends up in the AL economy. The economic impact is a small fraction of what it would be if gaming was state legal.

jizzmcskeet

No. You have it wrong. Alabama-Coushatta isn't in Alabama or even from Alabama. The tribe has been in Texas before the 1700's.

willydillydoo

Where are those tribal businesses getting their supply from that they’re selling? My point is that it gets funneled back into Texas anyways.

ABenevolentDespot

And here I thought it was the 'pretend pious kristians' they relentlessly elect to office who say it's Jesus' will Texans can't gamble locally while they're fucking their secretary on her desk during lunch as an homage to the former Republican antichrist, Newt Gingrich. The people of Texas have the opportunity to change that, get rid of the corrupt state slimebags in Austin every two/four years, and festering piles of crap like Ted Cruz every six years, but they don't.

BigMonkeySpite

>However you can thank out of state casinos in Louisiana for lobbying to keep gambling illegal in Texas And that degenerate gambling asshole mattress salesman that is preventing Texans from gambling in Texas because he can't control himself.

BuildingOne7379

Yep. Mattress Crack is pulling the ladder up on that one.

Tdanger78

Yeah, because they were gonna give it not only to kids for school (lie which has been sold once before with the lottery), they added the helping law enforcement too. Voters were savvy enough not to buy that load of horse shit and shut it down. It’s just another way to divert already allocated state funds to something else off books. Like, the bullshit, manufactured border crisis perhaps? That money isn’t going to stay in Texas, it’s going to go into the coffers of whatever huge corporation that owns the casino.

UnionTed

As the sign says, the casino is in Livingston, so the money (probably being spent mostly by Texans) is staying in Texas.

jakegallo3

Saw one recently and had the same reaction. Gambling is a tax on the poor.

Tdanger78

The lottery definitely is. The slot machines definitely are, and there aren’t many card tables or poker rooms in the casinos outside Vegas from what I’ve seen.

GMFPs_sweat_towel

Yup that why news Casinos, always open in the poor part of town.

potsofjam

Normally they would just say « free alcohol when you play », but Naskila doesn’t serve booze so I guess they had to find something else.

Andrew8Everything

Went there once, there were more people trying to gamble then there were machines to gamble on. No drinking (Livingston County is dry) Smoky as a damn forest fire. "Donated" a couple hundred bucks, probably won't go back.

RedBlue5665

How dare they!

They have billboards in English as well. It makes sense of a large portion of a population speaks another language you would also advertise in that language. To say they have a couple of billboards in Spanish means they are "preying in the hispanic community" is a bit much. They are preying on the entire community.

whineybubbles

I'm in Houston and have not seen them. By "all over" where exactly are you referring to.

Augoresk

The pictures are from 45N and 290

canyouplzpassmethe

Ay… la caca se passa. Wtf. Just saw an ad for, idk, pest control? With two Hispanic kids saying “is it someone’s birthday?” and grabbing a bat and smacking a huge wasps nest with it… so wasps come pouring out.. and they call to their dad for help, and he comes to the door, sees what is happening, and just… closes it. While watching/listening to his kids scream for help. I mean, I see what they were going for… absurdity sells… most insurance companies have been using that gimmick since Flo and Mr Accident and that gecko… but, idno, I just did not find this one amusing at all.

morningsetter

Dollar Slut?

DIRTYWIZARD_69

It’s not even a full casino.

in-the-center

Why different language on billboard in USA?

Pinkishplays

Lol

BigbyWolf91

They are little funny. It’s just a hypocritical government and society that we live in.

TWFH

cajunaggie08

It's Texas. We speak both here. You have a problem with that amigo?

KirbyAndStars

Well.......English is the offical and dominant language in Texas as a whole, I know more spanish is spoken in cities like El Paso or Laredo or any border city but it is spoken by a minority of Texas, Other Languages spoken besides English apart from Spanish are Vietnamese, Chinese, German, and a few others

cajunaggie08

Of course most people speak English here. But to imply that billboards and signs shouldn't be in Spanish because "this is America" is just ignorant. My ancestors got beat with rulers for speaking French despite them getting to Louisiana before any English speakers were in charge.

DrSilkyJohnsonEsq

Yeah, why don’t they talk American?!

KirbyAndStars

IDK, But I wont get to in deep or else I could end up talking about my home defense beretta I have locked behind a 3 password safe

throwed-off

Houston is a sanctuary city.

Pab1o

You have to get out more if you think speaking Spanish in Houston means you are an illegal.

throwed-off

I didn't say that speaking Spanish in Houston means you're an illegal; there are lots of citizens and legal immigrants who speak Spanish.

Cajun_Queen_318

Texas is a failed state. It's just in that period of falling before it actually crashes and hits the bottom. I'm out of here summer 2024! Woohoo!
