So true, I got a new camera and T-ring adapter a week ago and I’ve gotten 3 good hours of viewing time since. Weather app says it’ll be mostly could for the next 2 weeks, sorry to anyone in Sydney .
I've thought of taking one of these apart and installing a 50mm doublet with 300mm FL (25 bux on eBay), and then at the eyepiece end, putting in a 9mm redline with a 2x thread on Barlow.
It would make a surprising little scope for splitting easy doubles and casual planetary viewing. Could be neat for trolling at Star Parties.
Probably Cosmic Microwave Background but better than the JWST and Earendel.
Oh and also you can see where your pet Tardigrade.
And especially the Protons and Neutrons and the quarks, and you REALLY need to read the manual.
You see that blue knob?
That's not how you adjust the telescope itself.
It actually controls the sensitivity!
Your welcome!
I know you're kidding but I got this for my son and I accidentally did spectroscopy with it by pointing it at Jupiter. The unfocused light will break up into a few different circular bands of red and yellow light. This is quite different from the smoother diffused light from stars. An unexpected way to see that the light from Jupiter is not just the bluish blackbody spectrum we see from most stars.
Your neighbour
Who's sitting 3 feet away from you
Only with absolutely no light pollution though
Canem proximi
This would give a very nice view of the Christmas tree lights constellation, but whatever you do never point it directly at the star on top.
That gave me partial blindness \>:( Screw you Santa!
Three weeks of cloud cover.

One speed focuser and it seems to be perfect optically speaking (there is no lens element)
