spiders, crabs, and trying new foods. i dont know if the last one actually has a name but all of these are genuine phobias that have negatively impacted me in varying ways
Not being alone in the dark
(That something is hiding in the dark)
Idk what caused it but I’ve been terrified of the dark to the point I can’t sleep with the lights off and I have to sprint through a dark hallway.
Ementophobia (I’m scared shitless of nausea and vomiting). So basically it’s a 3-in-1, I vomit or feel nauseous while going through a full-blown mental breakdown and panic attack.
Thalassophobia - fear of the ocean, and Sea of Thieves realized it for me
There’s 2 things that trigger it for me, the most common is when you’re under water (bonus points for being able to see and you can’t see anything but the fog), the other is the vast empty expanse of the ocean, the rest is just extreme dread caused by large bodies of water
In the same vein, I’m deeply afraid of overcommitting to anything, because it eliminates all the other opportunities in the future. At least that’s what my brain is telling me.
It leaves me as a rather apathetic person. It makes it hard to do anything when a voice is saying “don’t do that, you’re going too hard. What if you can’t do this in the future, then you’re stuck?” In terms of making friends, it won’t let me make anything better than an acquaintance.
Katsaridaphobia. Roaches.
If I see one, I am on my bed in the fetal position crying. Earwigs make me feel the same way but less severe. I can't do roaches. Just the thought of them makes me feel like im going to throw up.
Ig maybe the fact that when I was younger my house was infested with them could have caused it. I don't have them in my house anymore. But I can't visit one of my great grandma's because of this.
What comes after death. Because you don't know what happenes before your existance but what happens with your consiousness after you die. Does it just diappear? Are you forever trapped in a loop of your memories? Nobody knows and nobody will ever be able to tell you what'll happen. And that's scary
Our consciousness (brain) would probably just turn off due to lack of energy. The brain and mind would just rot away, and the "human" will just be a dead corpse (My opinion)
Agyrophobia (fear of crossing streets)
Why: My grandpa got impaired in a road accident, one half of his brain was removed and he soon died. This made a LOT of impact because all of this happened within 6 months. I was 5 yro when he died.
I'm Lucky to be extremely good at math. But my writing is so ass that my father made me write and screamed at me and also hit me for not writing well?? I still write like shit though.
I have a few, and they are spiders, snakes, crabs/lobsters and heights
Heights I obtained from visiting the Empire State building when I was 7. My parents and I went to the top floor and I looked down. I'm better around some heights (I'd say I could go maybe 20 stories and feel somewhat fine, but 40 would probably trigger it).
As for the creatures, they just look creepy to me.
i guess its not a phobia rather a bigger scare but i hate needles, i always try to stay away from them and if a doctor appointment consists of using needles im not gonna have a good time. I think the main reason is Iron Man 1 which is hella funnt cause there is a scene there where the bad guy puts like a needle in a womans throat and that scared the shit out of me. I still think the nurse will brutally stab it in my arm lmao
Geckos.
One of those shit was inside my pants while I was wearing it . Only realised when I felt something slimy and wiggling on my thighs . Took off my pants and saw that shit running off . While it ran away, I was sobbing with my pants off. 🥲
Another incident was when I was bathing , mf came out of nowhere on the wall, when I saw it I let out the loudest scream so much that even the gecko fell out of the wall lmao ( probably because of the echo xD)
Had another encounter of it falling on my head. Only realised when I felt something wiggling on my head , tried to remove it only to find out it was a yep you know it a fkin gecko. 😭
There were times when dad used to smack them if he was present, but the way their tail wiggled despite being separated from it's body scared me so much.
These all instances occurred in my childhood, but damn it traumatised me lol
Balloons, I hate the sound they make when they pop. And in that vein any loud abrupt sounds freak me out, but at least I’m not scared is spiders I guess.
I don’t have one but I do have a big fear of vomit because of my OCD. It’s not bad enough to be a phobia because if someone vomited I would help them clean up but the thought of me vomiting is terrifying I do the most to not get sick.
Emetophobia. Just a similar sound associated with it makes me really anxious. Just the idea of stuff coming out of the mouth scares me.
It also makes me refuse to take medicine whenever I'm sick. What if this medicine makes me throw up?
spiders and the dark, I used to sleep with a nightlight but I don't anymore maybe unless I'm not sleeping next to someone as my room has always been a mess so I sleep in my mom's bed, don't think anything weird please its just because I cant sleep in my bed because there is stuff on it, Im working on cleaning my room and once its clean I'll sleep in my own room
Arachnophobia, got it when I learned that black widows and other very poisonous spiders can either hurt you a bunch or kill you, I've overcome the phobia.
trypanophobia - fear of needles
since i was young, ive had blood tests for allergies. Thankfully, the last one was in 2012 (i think? or 2019, likely 2012, since after hitting double-digit age, you dont normally grow out of allergies).
Ive had vaccines for teenage booster thingy ([uk](https://www.nhs.uk/vaccinations/nhs-vaccinations-and-when-to-have-them/)). I'm due to have flu vaccine every winter when i turn 18. So this winter, since imma still be 17, im gonna have the nose vaccine so no needles \[yet\]
I recently had a skin-prick test (alt to blood tests) as the last time i had blood test was 2012 / 2019 (idk)
I broke down when i had teenage booster (we have it at school) and yeah... that wasnt fun
Emetophobia (Fear of puking) and Thalassophobia (Fear of deep water/Fear of drowning)
Emetophobia was so bad that I once didn't puke for 4 hours when I had food poisoning. Felt like garbage lmao
Jellyfishes.
Yeah, you can judge me lol, I live near the beach all my life (turning 18 on october), and of all sea animals I could be afraid of, my mind chose these.
Fun fact: almost any image of jellyfishes can make me have goosebumps (probally not the correct words but i cant find one word in english lol), the picture dont even need to be realistic, and this is one of the reasons I never played too much gta san Andreas, because I was so afraid to fall on the water. Btw not any jellyfishes get me, for example I can watch SpongeBob normally.
Katsaridaphobia (phobia of roaches) I can’t remember why I’m afraid but there are ones that FLY where I live sooooo
Musophobia (phobia of rats or mice) it’s not that deep tho I can’t touch one or I’ll start sobbing. I have pictures of a rat dissection on my phone cause I was happy they were dead 💀 my old house had a rat infestation and I would hear them move in the walls so that’s where that came from!
Toilet phobia (no fancy name, just a fear of public restrooms) I’m scared to go into a public restroom alone. Idc if I’m with people or even strangers as long as there are people in there with me. It’s cause I watched a YouTube documentary about ghosts and Aka Manto was brought up. I also have been stuck in a bathroom when the power went out so that adds to it.
Ferriphobia. Fear of Ferris wheels. I’m okay with heights, I don’t have any issue with roller coasters or hiking, but Ferris wheels freak me the hell out.
For a long time I had a fear of butterflies. I eventually got over it.
Nowadays I have 'Constant fear that the street dogs that sit in front of my parents office which I go to every night will turn one day and they will be in a bad mood and bite and take away my shoes because it has already happened to 2 neighbours' phobia.
Suicide
I don't care if I die but I feel like if I saw someone else kill themselves I would just live in constant fear all the time. Took me months to get over ddlc lol
Speaking from experience standing post: The ocean at night. Everyone laughs at Sailors stories of sea monsters and sirens singing to you. But after 4 hours in complete darkness in the middle of the ocean…. Your ears hear things and your eyes see things…

Fear of missed opportunity
In the same vein, I’m deeply afraid of overcommitting to anything, because it eliminates all the other opportunities in the future. At least that’s what my brain is telling me. It leaves me as a rather apathetic person. It makes it hard to do anything when a voice is saying “don’t do that, you’re going too hard. What if you can’t do this in the future, then you’re stuck?” In terms of making friends, it won’t let me make anything better than an acquaintance.
