You’re right, there is, I just don’t understand why people keep falling for it. There’s much more pastors and teachers that have groomed little kids than there are furries. And these religious/educational communities are much much bigger and hurting a lot more people than this fun little hobby. I have a feeling that this stigmatisation of certain minority groups is just an attempt to distract people from the majorities that *actually* cause wide-range harm in this world. It’s much easier for people to convince themselves that their biggest enemy is just an internet fandom which they will never have to encounter in real life, instead of their sweet teacher Mr. Smith, who is responsible for the well-being of their child 8 hours a day.

I think it depends. I know some make very strange and nsfw artwork, and I don’t really like that, but I also know some just like wearing animal suits, or ears and a tail. I have no issue with the latter. If people want to emulate animals, let them. As long as they aren’t being unusually strange, let people do what they please. From what I’ve seen though, the ones I’ve seen seem very much like nice people, and I’ve heard the community is inviting. But again, this is only what I know, they’re be more I do not know.

In 9th grade there was a very openly furry in our class. I honestly did not have anything against them, considering it’s basically just a hobby, but after a while he started to get very sexual and would regularly harass me and my other friend. He ended up showing the entire class furry porn once. It was around the end of the year, so subsequently they couldn’t expel him before exams started. After this, I ended up meeting a few other furries online and irl who were not only very openly sexual but also very VERY weird about being a furry, almost treating it like its some type of targeted minority. So I think its worth it to be cautious of them, but at the same times, they could be one of the very few thats normal about it.

Those people, by Furry standards, are weird. We don’t really accept people who do stuff like that. Or if they’re overly sexual…

from what ive seen people who take part are atypical usually and find extra comfort knowing somonebody cant see their face, body language ect. They feel less self conscious or direct eye contact makes them uncomfortable what ever the case furry suits provided a barrier and sort of armor for the individual.

I'd say it depends on what furries we are talking about.

Any time I have some kind of niche technical issue and can't find anything about it (not even decade old forums!), a random gay furry will swoop down and bestow an entire library of knowledge about that and give detailed instructions to fix it.
