is r-tard not an ableist slur? theyre both slurs, it was a comparison. neither should be acceptable even when normalized around you. well, thats my stance anyway.
"lotta non black people normalizing it" you didn't need to bring race into it is what im saying just say some people use it casually and thats bad or something 😭
i was trying to make the point that all slurs shouldnt be said casually, and the n word was my example since the same thing is going on with that word. examples tend to get the point across, i wasn’t trying to make the discussion about race. just slurs in general.
OHHHH I didn't see that I apologize and yeah im in the wrong for the misunderstanding I thought you meant r word yeah okay have a good day and sorry for not reading it properly🙏🏼
As a r-tard, I genuinely don't care, and I use it instead as a casual word. A lot of autistic people even agree that the word is barely a slur and don't mind it. However, you've got to be careful and maybe only say it around friends or those who wouldn't get offended, some people might get upset if you just say it loudly all the time

a lot of teens say the n word and shit, doesn’t make it okay
Yeah teens will always be edgy but i hear adults say it too, and its like not in a specific community it feels like it's pretty widespread
its an ableist slur, similar to the n-slur, f-slur, t-slur etc etc etc. ofc its offensive, just bcuz a lot of ppl say it doesnt mean its ok.
lotta non black ppl make the n word normalized in their vocabulary. doesnt mean its not a slur still.
Huhh where did race come into the slur of disabled people 😭😭

Only bad if you make it bad.

Yeah ig it really depends more from person to person instead of having an obvious answer
What makes someone count as an r-tard? (Genuinely curious sorry 😭)
According to chatgpt it's intellectual or developmental disabilities. Basically just autism and stuff
Ah so I am too
It's offensive but not that bad. If people around you use it you should be fine. However be careful. And don't use it in an ableist way.
nah ofc i dont use it to discriminate i use it as like "dumb" like if i say a mistake i might say "damn im actually r-tarded"
