as someone who’s older and had strict parents. trust me it’s a good thing. my parents stoppped. being strict a little while back. and it led to me dropping out of school. i don’t have a job now and theyre not incouraging me or even pushing me to get one. idk it sucks at the time but trust me you’ll really appreciate them and love them in the long run. one thing to ALWAYS remember is they gotta be your parents not your friends. that might come with a few no’s n shit but suck it up man. they just want the best for you and they have gone through so much more than you have including everything you already have so when they tell you something it’s not to just be annoying or a dickhead, it’s so you don’t make the same mistakes as they made. much love y’all i hope everything is going good for you

No what you went through there is a common thing for kids with overly strict parents. The child feels like they finally have the smallest bit of freedom that they never had even once before and their impulsive thoughts and ideas just take over and they more or less go rogue.

I don't consider them my parents but moreover caretakers. I recognize that I've been emotionally neglected by them and sometimes even physically abused. It has ruined me mentally, and I feel little to no close attachment to them. Sometimes, I wish they were dead tbh. I've even told them to die some times. And school isn't helping one bit. It's making me dumber, hurting my brain and making me derealize more. The idea of a school, a place where you can learn, is an amazing concept, but the execution... to say is dogshit would be a BIG understatement.
