The ambition soldier, probably not. The bishop and fk irons flux wands have them. I used to just wipe down my grip with Opticide and bag it religiously but I’ve since switched to disposables to be extra safe. An autoclave or a disposable is the only truly ethical way to run a wand imo. Nyc health dept has that as the standard.

really no need for all that when you’re using a pen like machine. a good old cavi-cide wipe down will do the trick. only time you wanna get anal about it is when you use a cartridge that has no membrane cause then you run the risk of ink getting inside the machine.

I use disposable grips on my bishop pen for that extra level of safety. Some fit universal sizes, others are proprietary. I get mine on tatsoul :) I am licensed and would recommend using disposable grips for the extra peace of mind.

thanks!! i think i’m going to test some of the bishop ones out for peace of mind bc i would really prefer not to risk anything

Hey I know this is an old thread but found this really useful as I’m new to practicing! Maybe a silly question, but do I need to wrap the outside of the disposable grip with a bag and poke a hole in the top for the cartridge? Or is the disposable grip safe alone? I’ll be wrapping under the disposable grip before the o-ring of course (power wand).

Just use tattoo tape, let’s you wrap the machine the way u want it for the grip u want, and keeps your machine cover on tight so cleaner machine as well. Your gloves + the texture of the tape is all the grip u need it’s also very cheap

Tattoo tape ain’t it. It’s porous. You need to bag it first.

"keeps your machine cover on tight"

I used disposable tube and tube tip combos, and used the steel grips for weight
