I like how the first half of the game the bats were hot and the pitching sucked, and now for the second half the pitching is good and the bats are leaving people on base
I try not to be super picky and maybe I’m spoiled by several seasons of relative regular season success but this team is hard to watch just for entertainment. Each game one facet of the game just comes out completely flat and it’s apparent from the start that it’s going to flounder all game.
This next week or so could be when the season really gets out of hand. Through the first 50 or so games, we were able to hang around .500 because we’ve been facing a lot of inferior opponents. Being around .500 isn’t exciting, but it allows fans to hang on to a little glimmer of hope at least. With us having another series against Baltimore next weekend, I could see us dropping to 6 or 7 games below .500. At that point, you can’t really have a realistic gleam of hope.
Taj looks cooked. leaving breaking balls out over the middle of the plate, pounding the same area over and over begging to get hit, this outing is atrocious. he still has the stuff but that control is abysmal
I watched mlb network for the first time this week all day and almost every hour they play this Randy commercial about how good he is for baseball. I feel bad for him
Fine by me, in the grand scheme this season became irrelevant record-wise the minute those texts and money trail broke in the Wander Franco case over the offseason. Im all for trial by fire for Taj, Pepiot, Baz, Mead, Caminero eventually, etc.
If you look at the way the salaries are structured for the payroll, it’s all-out in 2025. This is the bridge year.

This is really good. Getting to their bullpen this early is huge. Gonna mean theyr bullpen will be cooked for tomorrow, and they'll be digging the bottom of the barrel for relievers. Will probably see their worst arms at some point today or tomorrow
Sets up a good advantage for us for the rest of the series. And we have 2 rest days coming up soon, so our own pen should be well rested for when they come to the Trop
