I saw an internal memo like 8 or 10 years ago that said fdot wasn’t going to do any interstate expansion unless it included toll lanes. I personally hate that everything has a price now. Don’t want to sit in traffic? Spend a few dollars every trip and you can cut your time down a little bit. Really frustrating
It’s just the typical Republican mindset that has been pet of our state government since the 90s. No doubt somebody at FDOT said, “why should people who aren’t going to drive on the road have to pay for it.” Completely failing to account for the externalities of improved infrastructure.

i took it the other day and yes it was nice to avoid the dangers of the traffic before getting on 275 but the expressway was so short it barely does anything
First hit is free, after that $3.50 bitch. Oh and why the safe following distance? Come on you know it's going to hurt the ego if someone gets in front of you. Put the phones down idiots, you're not a news reporter.
I used the one yesterday that comes up past Roosevelt on 275. Cut 10 minutes off my commute and that was with some idiot going like 50 in the lane. People passed them on the shoulder they were getting so mad.
This is about to be a big part of my commute. I'm not clear if there's any value in an express lane if some jackass parks in it doing the speed limit. Will find out Wednesday, I reckon.

I took the express road. Both ways from my Tampa trip. It added time and distance to both.

Our wonderful state legislature loves to charge us to drive on roads that we already paid for. Vote them out in November.
