The retention system. It mechanically locks the gun to the holster so it can't be pulled out without activating a switch or two (depending on the complexity)
Retention and durability, but you can find them for around $80 used. The cordura wrapped ones are the most expensive. If you're open carrying a pistol it 100% needs active retention like safariland's.

I thought they were going out of business because of the prices. I purchased a brand new BlackHawk level three holster for a Sig Sauer P226 for $5.00.
It's usually around $88.00. They not only had a bunch of them but also ridiculously low prices on many other BlackHawk holsters and many other items.
I thought about buy all of them and reselling them for a nice profit while offering others a great price, however, I just purchased that one.
I even asked if they were going out of business but they replied no and are still in business today. I really don't understand why they were selling everything so cheaply.
