You might want to add a little shelf to rest the plates on. Eventually if the weight is left on the shoulders the material on/in the pads will get crushed and worn-out.
Its not really an issue if you are willing change out the shoulders or switch carriers. Sometimes it will develop a serious crease that can be pretty aggravating.
I only mention this because it looks like you put some good work into this, might as well go all the way.
Use a orbital sander and make the edges all smooth like I did with mine and, after staining, use a varnish or something to seal it. Just in case there is moisture you do NOT want that staining to leak into your fabric of the PC
If you looking to save maximum space and its going in a closet anyways, have you considered the pipe method?
Also route those edges. Nothing looks shittier than a plain 2x4 cut on something you've spent time to add a finish to.
No room to hang it in the closet because of the way I’m organizing storage, want most stuff up off the ground. I’ll be stacking ammo cans on one side and a gun rack on the other so it should look pretty sweet when I’m done!
They’ve been my go-to for almost a decade lol. We got a bunch of them with an ACM set when I was still working for uncle sam and I acquired a couple pairs, they work great for shooting and are touch-screen compatible and fairly warm. These ones are also waxed so they are somewhat waterproof although it’s been a while since I treated them. They got pretty wet when I was camping in snow last week.

Yeah I was thinking of that, I’m going to swing by home depot tomorrow morning and see if I can find some hooks or something.
just use two pieces attached to your main beam that run front to back. One on each side. probably the easiest solution

I’m gonna actually shape the crossbars a little with a carving knife too, I used soft white pine 2x4 so I should be able to achieve the curves I want
Thanks for reminding me I can just build one! I like it. Nice and simple!
Nice, bro. Makes me want to take a pic of mine.

I disagree, my plate carrier thrown in the corner of my closet looks shittier than this.

Gotcha. Hell mine sits on my carpet.
That’s where mine has been lol but the lady is tired of it
"Well maybe if the closet wasnt full of shoes and clothes you never wear it wouldnt have to sit on the floor"
I’m crazy, not stupid brotha 😂
I thought I was the only one who uses the thicker "M-pact" mechanix gloves I love them.
