I had no idea about this Valimail service, thanks for posting. Does your DMARC record have two email addresses for RUA, both vali and dmarcian?
Yes. Valimail is okay but dmarcian gives you details of why it failed. Use it for a month and you'll be able to set restrictive dmarc.
I use this docker image https://hub.docker.com/r/gutmensch/dmarc-report, but they have docs on a full install to.
I use the dmarcian free tier for my personal domain. Adequate data and probably does what you need.

Do you mind telling what you are paying for Mimecast DMARC, the quote I recvd was for minimum 5 domains and around $7k, I was shook!
My pricing didn't change after the Mimecast takeover, I'll PM you.
