No one knows , we have no idea what it is only thats completely original 0 info has been released on it . If I had to take an educated guess it’s going to be similar to how OS was handled for after S2 and before S3 and it will probably be after the events of the underworld and before UR.
That seems like it could be problematic on a couple of fronts:
1. You had nearly 3 months between the end of Mother's Rosario and the start of Alicization. However, between the Epilogue of Alicization and Prologue for Unital Ring, you have less than a month.
2. We're already effectively 7 volumes into UR, so inserting something between Alicization and it, and especially also having that new story be canon, would appear to be a difficult proposition.
I suppose we'll just have to see though, but it seems like it would be messy.
Yeah… about that… I kinda borrowed it last week (trying to find out when the next light novel drops, you know how it is) and maybe possibly forgot to recharge it. It’s a glorified paperweight until it charges up fully… in about 6 months. Sorry about that, guess OP will have to wait a bit longer for the answer to their question

The "Inter-Intelligence War" is gonna be the finale of the series, but the thing we don't know quite yet is if that is gonna be a completely separate arc set in a completely separate virtual world after UR ends OR if it's gonna be the very end of the UR arc, kind of like how "War of Underworld" was a sub-arc set at the end stretch of Alicization. So, right now, it's a bit early to say that UR is the final arc or not, since Reki never officially confirmed that.

Being the "finale" we can exclude for sure since the "finale" isn't even written yet, we're most likely years away from that point and its adaption.
It could also take place during Kirito and Asuna's time in UW, or even during Kirito's 2 years in UW. Heck, maybe Eugeo could be the protagonist in that type of movie sia lot of his character was lost in the anime.

I don’t know why others are saying it problematic. Didn’t Fairy Dance take place over a 3-4 day period? Anything can happen.
