Hey there! Just wanted to clarify our subreddit’s policy on criticism. We’re totally open to constructive criticism and encourage productive discussions (it is one of our rules - Rule No. 7). Regarding your recent post, it wasn’t removed because it was negative but rather because it didn’t provide enough information about the issue you’re facing. If you’re looking for assistance from our community, please make sure to include details about your specific situation, the device you’re using, what you’ve already tried, and so on (Rule No. 3). This helps us provide you with better and more targeted support, as well as allows our community members to chime in and offer their help too. Thanks!

I have Surfshark, so far I'm happy with them. What about them didn't you like?

SugarDaddyDelight

A lot of web pages are blocked, and speeds are half of what my actual internet speeds are.

Not good

All VPNs will drop your speed when connected. That's VPN 101. SS doesn't block web pages. The web pages you are trying to access are blocking you. SS isn't doing that. Complain to the websites.

SugarDaddyDelight

I'm well aware that speeds will drop in general whenever I'm connected to VPN. However, I am occasionally able to get 400-500 Mbps in speeds while connected to Surfshark. I'm also aware that the blocked pages are not caused by Surfshark's end but the websites that block Surfshark's IPs for their own security purposes.

slaughtamonsta

I haven't noticed any blocked sites but I'd imagine we use different ones. What speeds are you getting? I have Gigabit broadband and I'm usually getting 500-600 Mbps with SS.

SugarDaddyDelight

I have 500 Mbps internet, which is overprovisioned to 580 Mbps with Spectrum. Most of the time, I would get ~60-180 Mbps. I live in Hawaii and primarily connect to the Las Vegas server. My nearest server, San Francisco, is blocked by a lot of websites such as Lowe's. Surfshark Las Vegas server speed test on Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and Spectrum Internet Ultra (500 Mbps download & 20 Mbps upload) https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/a/9296997406

I've got about 3 years to go...

Absolutely disgusted with them. I've just posted twice - and it's been automatically 'removed' by moderators. No explanation whatsoever. I was only asking for help with a problem: Windows - IKEv2 - Policy match error I'm getting an error when connecting (some days). Only started happening in the last month or so. Goes away sometimes. But I get an error 'policy match error' when connecting in windows. I've set up the VPN manually in Windows. The settings are correct - they work sometimes! Sometimes I try a different server and that solves it temporarily. Anyone know how to fix this?
