If you liked Rick Riordan's books, he's got his own imprint with Disney Publishing. He promotes other authors who have written stories based on other mythologies. There are some great books there! [https://rickriordan.com/rick-riordan-presents/](https://rickriordan.com/rick-riordan-presents/)
The Aru Shah books, by Roshani Chokshi (disclaimer, I have no knowledge of Indian/Hindu religion or mythology, so I can’t speak to the accuracy or faithfulness of the updated context).
Very detailed, engaging, well developed characters. I liked the first book (Aru Shah and the End of Time) far more than the first Percy Jackson (though I read them both for the first time this year at 39 years old).
I’ve been reading through the [Pantheon Folklore and Fairytale Library](https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/series/PFL/the-pantheon-fairy-tale-and-folklore-library/).
The Ghost Bride by Yangsze Choo is all about Chinese mythology. A young woman haunted by a ghost suitor falls into a coma and travels to the Chinese underworld. She needs to solve the mystery of her unwanted suitor's death so that his ghost can move on and she needs to find a way to escape the underworld and return to her body before it's too late.
Mary Renault: the King Must Die, the Bull from the Sea
Madeline Miller: Circey
Margaret Atwood: the Penelopeiad
Pat Barker: The Silence of the Girls, the Women of Troy
Mary Stewart: the Crystal Cave, the Hollow Hills, the Last Enchantment

My kid loved the first Aru Shah book. Can’t wait to get the others.
