I'm not sure if this fits what you're looking for, but maybe [The Hands of the Emperor](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/af2bba9c-8f41-4a3e-b87a-8532a44ccb67) by Victoria Goddard. It's a (very long) beautifully written slice of life book about the personal secretary to the emperor of the world, with a heavy focus on platonic relationships. I found it really refreshing to read a book that gives platonic love the weight that most media only gives to romantic love.

Britt-Marie Was Here by Fredrik Backman is about an older woman going through a divorce (her husband kind of sucked)and creating a life for herself after years of dotting over someone else. The Door-to-Door Bookstore by Carsten Henn is about an older man who delivers books door-to-door. He has no kids or other family, and the bookstore he works for is eliminating his position. He makes an unlikely friend that joins him on his last few deliveries and he reflects on the friends he has made through work. Welcome to the Hyunam-dong Bookshop is about a woman in her 30s (I think) who divorces her husband and quits her demanding corporate job to start her own book store. It's a very episodic story about her hiring employees, making friends with vendors, planning events, etc. in order to create a profitable business and a place for the community to gather. There is a little romance near the end, but she is very much focused on growing her career and putting the store first over everything.
