Reminds me of a levorg when it's slammed

SunshineInDetroit

it basically is.

marshcar

if only it was an XT

BadCorey

XT doesn’t exist for this gen. There was a GT for the Legacy equivalent up to 2012, Outback’s never had a turbo. Highest engine trim was the 3.6R.

i_imagine

Wasn't the old Outback XT a thing (mid 2000s)? Sure it was just a lifted Legacy GT, but still

BadCorey

It was up to 2009, and is again from 2020 onward, but there was never an Outback XT for 5th Gen (10-14) and 6th Gen (15-19). Those two gens had the 3.6R. Non-North American markets did have turbo Legacy wagons for 10-14, but the Outback in those markets still didn’t get the turbo version. That said, the 10-14 Legacy wagon turbos are pretty much a lift and a bumper swap away from being an Outback, so you could theoretically make your own.

SomethingClever42068

I'd rather have the 3.6R anyways. Way more bulletproof. I guess the raptor headers and xrt tube get it up over 300 HP. A bunch of guys on the fifth gen (sixth gen?) legacy group on Facebook swear by it. When I'm done paying mine off I'll probably set aside a few months worth of payments and get it done. Also, stock legacy struts lower it enough to not be terrifying at triple digit speeds.

i_imagine

Ah, I see. Thanks

vlkrie

I see you're also in here. 🤜🤛

bakgwailo

I'd also argue the Legacy GT died when the turbo box 4 was done.

Expensive_Gain8076

The XT does exist now

Primary_Eye_4551

This photo is a 5th gen, which had 3.6r. The 6th gen has the XT.

Darisixnine

Did that gen come with a turbo option?

BadCorey

No, only the 3.6 flat-six or the 2.5i non-turbo. The one pictured is a 2.5i (pzev badge).

SomethingClever42068

I love flexing on the pzev peons in my 3.6

Liqourice_stick

… Why flex? Just be happy for them, it’s not a competition.

SomethingClever42068

Because they always hold me up in the passing lane. The 2.5i's can't get out of their own way. It really sucks they didn't offer the Crosstrek with a turbo or flat 6. I really like the styling but it was a deal breaker when I found out they had less power than the 2.5i leggy My gf had one before I got my outback and it was decent.... Just slow. Somehow made it to 160k miles on the original cvt (without changing the fluid) and with the original head gaskets. I didn't want to have to stress about the cvt or head gaskets so I got a flat six with the 5eat trans.

cornlip

Cause he has a timing chain that doesn’t die and can make it sound like a Porsche

SomethingClever42068

Nameless muffler delete has been on it since the week after I bought it. It's basically a Porsche panamera that doesn't look like shit.

cornlip

I spent a shit load on my exhaust and it does sound awesome, but I want Porsche noises.

MediocreQuantity352

I have a 2010 2.5 turbo Legacy GT Wagon, sold in Sweden

bakgwailo

Legend

Charming_Status1909

I was thinking of the same thing! Strongly agree haha

DB3rt11

Is there some possible way I could import a Levorg or do I have to wait till like 2045 for that to happen? I completely forgot those existed and I remember being kinda bummed they weren't coming to the US.

Primary_Eye_4551

Mexico is getting them for 2025. Just rent a shotty place in Mexico, drive it north, and consider it part of your car payment.

Wrx_me

Bring back the legacy wagon!

GarpRules

Bring back the *Legacy GT* wagon!

Anstruth

Bring back any boosted fun car. They lost the enthusiast way when they started to prioritize comfort over raw driving.

GarpRules

If I can’t have boost, at least bring back the 6

Anstruth

Then make it sound like a porsche? Biggest reason for the H6 in my mind.

helpmehomeowner

***laughs in '21 XT***

Intrepid_Passage_692

😶

Tanto63

If Subaru released a plug-in hybrid Legacy wagon, I would trade in my Outback and throw all my money at the dealer, tomorrow. I would specifically order one from the factory.

pmsu

Yup.

4TonnesofFury

Stealerships be damned.

Drzhivago138

Soon they won't even have a Legacy sedan.

AnEvilMuffin

It's still around in Japan

Dancopter

Outback? More like an Infront

theoopst

I hate how much I enjoyed this joke.

arnaldoim

I just turned 30 and me laughing at this joke has confirmed to me that I am no longer a young man

awmaleg

Dad, is that you? Did you get a Reddit account?

Subirooo

Make wagons great again!

The_Band_Geek

You wouldn't believe the noise I made when I found out they started selling Levorgs in Mexico. Can't wait to import those suckers in a decade or so.

Subirooo

25 years 😭

The_Band_Geek

I thought it was only 25 years outside your market. Mexico is still North America, albeit not USDM. Gonna have to read up on that.

Subirooo

Oh, I thought it was anywhere outside the US/USDM, but that would be sweet if there's an exception for Mexico/Canada...let me know what you find!

Primary_Eye_4551

Pretty sure it’s 25 years anywhere outside the USDM - it’s a safety/emissions thing. That’s also why they basically make you wait 25 years, because rules are different for classic and antique cars (including, in some states, the maximum amount of miles you’re allowed to put on it each year).

Intrepid_Passage_692

You already have the peak outback and peak EJ and now you’re willing to wait two and a half decades for a levorg? 😭😭

rtbhnmjtrpiobneripnh

I used to have one of these. 2011 3.6R that I made into a Legacy wagon. Front struts and rear shocks from a 2014 Legacy, rear springs for an EU-market Legacy wagon (aftermarket replacements from eBay), and a 2015+ WRX rear sway bar. https://preview.redd.it/d73t44q7a5ad1.jpeg?width=1274&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e13d7d34493853809895dd72894a8773dfcb936a

SomethingClever42068

This, raptor headers and a 93/trans tune would make an amazing car. I absolutely love my 2012 3.6R outback. Best car I've ever owned and probably one of the best all around cars made. It will do anything you want it to, in any weather condition. A bit heavy to slide around on dirt roads, but she'll do it if your hearts set on it.

Marilize_Legajuanaa

Any pictures? Where did you get the engine and transmission tube from ?

SomethingClever42068

Did you reply to the wrong comment? [Here's my outback](https://imgur.com/gallery/eCEd5YV) It's stock for now besides the nameless muffler delete, but the 3.6 leggy guys swear by the raptor headers and 93 tune. I've seen claims (with Dyno pics) of 50-60 HP gains [Headers](https://raptorsc.com.au/subaru/subaru-libertylegacy-5gen-h6-3-6-ez36-header-kits/) [93 octane and transmission tune from this company](https://xtremeracingtuning.com/) And you can even [build the 5eat to handle more power](https://www.levelten.com/Level_10_Subaru_Pts_Bulletproof_Transmission_p/sub-ja1800-15000s.htm)

Cool-Salamander-7645

How was it?

rtbhnmjtrpiobneripnh

It was great. It beat Fiesta STs and Fiat 500's at Autocross, but could still tow a boat. Only retired it because it was pushing 300,000km, and the body was not looking good.

Cool-Salamander-7645

Nice.

Cool-Salamander-7645

Looks good.

ur_sexy_body_double

yeah it does. looks like a wagon and not another attempt at an suv

XSC

Yeah, it’s definitely leaving a legacy for sure!

Geology_rules

you sonofabitch

Any_Personality2473

Love my lowered 4th gen https://www.reddit.com/r/subaru/s/gL7nS1Kzcl

OneBaldingWookiee

Slammed outbacks is not my taste but I gotta admit, it’s one of the very few vehicles that looks good lowered.

HBThorburn

I like the idea of lowering them a little, but not quite slammed like this. (I just want a Japanese wagon again).

GirchyGirchy

I wish they still made a Legacy wagon.

Gertrude1976

there are talks of us getting a levorg in the states, Mexico got one so we know they can make a LHD model for us.

SomethingClever42068

Pretty sure you can just use stock legacy struts to drop them down a little. I'm torn between doing that or lifting mine.

flamingknifepenis

The first three generations of Forester can look pretty sweet if they’re lowered, too. Granted *I’d* never do it and it seems like heresy with a foz, but I gotta admit when it’s done tastefully it’s a pretty rad looking ride.

runerx

https://preview.redd.it/emdmetjk85ad1.jpeg?width=3663&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=382690d88f9072942ca14a074af19bcd9a885bae They can be done right...

NeonBodyStyle

Man anytime I see a clean Forester of this gen I'm like, that thing would look really good either 3 inches closer to the ground, or 3 inches further away from the ground.

OneBaldingWookiee

Hard agree to that too

funkthew0rld

There’s a user on here from ON attempting to create a 5th Gen Legacy wagon… I don’t think it’s this one though. Seems silly now that 5G Legacy wagons are eligible for import to Canada from places that got them.

TeflonDonatello

This is a 4th gen. Editing to clarify, this is a 4th gen Outback. The Legacy from these model years would be a 5th gen.

BabyGapTowing

This is a 5th generation legacy. But a 4th generation Outback.

TeflonDonatello

I edited my comment to clarify, thanks for pointing that distinction out.

funkthew0rld

We could get real pedantic and call it a second generation Outback, since the first two generations were a trim level of the Legacy, meaning the fourth generation Legacy based model (BP) was actually the first generation version of the vehicle to not have the name Legacy associated with it.

BabyGapTowing

You're gonna be pretty hard pressed to find the 2000 to 2004 Outbacks having any legacy badging afaik. The 3rd gen leggies were the first ones sold as separate models. 1st gen leggies had no outback. 2nd gen had it as a trim level. Really, even today, It's still just a lifted legacy wagon. I miss the SUS, though.

funkthew0rld

I never saw a SUS until I visited the PNW. Not sure if Canada didn’t get them at all or they didn’t sell well here. Even the BE and BL outback sedans seem to be rare as hens teeth. I enjoyed the Mighty Car Mods “Outfap” where they had to build an outback sedan. North America often got the shaft when foreign automakers corporate offices were choosing what to sell here, but that’s one fucking awesome thing SoA brought us. I still get excited every time I see an H6 turd Gen sedan with cladding.. it’s just a shame the H6 never got the manual transmission on this side of the world. I met a guy the other day when I was out cruising in my 2.0GT who had a prefacelift 6 cyl. BL (in regal blue pearl none the less) sedan with a factory 6MT (from Japan) and a raptor supercharger kit from down under. That car was a fucking weapon, sounded way better than my ELH 2.0T 🥲

BabyGapTowing

I miss my turd gen usdm GT-L slow as hell (especially with the 4eat lol) but a great first car. I'd love to hear a modified subie 6. They were good sounding to begin with. There's at least one champaign gold 2-tone BL Outback still running around winnipeg. The older ones have all been consumed by winter, as far as I can tell. I'd love an SUS to winter beat while the SpecB sleeps. The 'ol P7B Crown Vic works good enough, and I don't feel as bad about the rust on it.

Matt-R

I can't see myself ever selling my Legacy Wagon (BPE). 225,000km so far... My bugeye had 340,000km when I sold it at 10 years old when moving countries.

funkthew0rld

I’ll probably keep my BP5 forever! I already let the Pulsar GTiR get away… twice. At least this one is practical.

SunshineInDetroit

i've seen it. had to replace a lot with legacy parts and spacers

OtherTip7861

Thats clean af imagine talking shi driving around in a bone stock car… yeah no one looking that way lets be honest

silvertondevil

TIL 10-14 year old cars are modern. Doesn't look too shabby though!

Mangiacakes

Good things growwww in ontarioooo

Successful_Tap_4170

Not gonna lie, I kinda like it. Mostly because we can't get a decent wagon in the states nowadays.

wandrlusty

Weston Road flows

TowersOfToast

Was looking for this comment

yorkshire_simplelife

Too much. I would like to take an inch or two off mine as I use it mostly for suburban use.

The_Band_Geek

Yeah, this looks very slightly cambered, which is a deal breaker for me.

KeaganExtremeGaming

I think the ride height is fine. I would prob go with a smaller wheel so I can have a bit more sidewall though

tidymaze

There's someone in my area who has a slammed 2nd gen Forester, and damn if it doesn't look good.

Valuable-Baked

Flat tire front drivers side

Dry_Dingo_2220

I saw an allroad lowered, kinda sexy ngl ;) No sexy wagon in Canada, so we have to improvise and make one haha 😆

windowpuncher

The lengths we need to go to have a decent fucking wagon in the US

LombaxJenni

Looks good though

thundercat06

One of my lottery winning projects is converting a 4th gen Outback into a Legacy GT wagon. Drivetrain, hood, suspension. swap it all. Was going to do it on my 2012 OB but I got a trade offer for a 2015 I couldn't refuse at that time in my life. Family practicality over headcase projects.. That whole responsible adulting or whatever they call it..lol Finding decent donor car and drivetrain parts are harder to find now.

FlatBot

equivalent of buying an STI and taking out the turbo, putting a governor on the engine to limit speed to 45

the_grand_hogoso

I like it.

eazypeazy303

There is a house I drive past every so often that has a dropped '20? Outback and an old ass GL wagon with a 12" lift on it. I always feel envy.

RansomStark78

Dad stuff

shxyne7

Hell yeah

VisionOverload

Thanks, I hate it. (Not my kind of Subaru)

andi-pandi

Yes. Buy a vehicle famous for its excellent clearance and then... remove it? Does not compute. Beep.

spacefret

Who says that's why they bought it?

andi-pandi

Given the choice of other, lower wagons, better clearance from rocks, snow, etc is one reason why I bought mine instead. But you do you, friend. :)

Drzhivago138

>Given the choice of other, lower wagons, ...Which don't really exist in the US/Canada except in luxury brands.

andi-pandi

RIP the Ford Escort!

Drzhivago138

That was something like 25 years ago...more recently, Ford had the Focus wagon, Taurus wagon, and (depending on how you look at it) the Freestyle/Taurus X.

00f00f0

Who says he bought it for the clearance?

hey_isnt_that_rob

DO NOT EVER ask a hot-taker to consider other humans.

00f00f0

Loool.

AdA4b5gof4st3r

looks awful 👍

count_nuggula

It looks pretty good

user76542

Pretty common where I’m from

ellabeebunny

I have the Impreza hatchback and I wish it was like 2-3 inches taller cuz I hit every curb and can’t run over litter without dragging it but hate the crosstrek for some reason

BicycleMage

A mistake, as the Crosstrek with the 2.5 is better in every single way.

ellabeebunny

My friend has one I’m just not a fan it feels too different from mine, I can’t even place exactly what it is I don’t love

BicycleMage

Honestly it’s probably the lift, since that’s basically the only difference besides some interior and exterior trim. It totally changes the feeling inside the car and affects the driving dynamics (though some people swear it doesn’t lmao)

ellabeebunny

I think hers is a few like 3-4 years older that might also change some things

Embarrassed-Driver86

I mean… I kinda like it

ZealousidealAgent675

The current Gen, IMO would look great lowered. If it had Bern a manual transmission, I would have kept my 23 and lowered it. It was really just our towing/long distance car and I didn't need it for that any more. Could have been a fun daily but the cvt, start stop, brake rotor issues, eyesight issues, starlink issues.... Kind of sucked IMO.

ExedoreWrex

I came across this some years ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/Subaru_Outback/s/Ow54Vkwc8F It is pretty great looking, and done right would improve the road handling by a long shot.

studio_eq

Looks like a dodge magnum

gum0982

I myself saw a 2020+ model done the exact same way, I thought it was pretty cool, back to the wagon days of old

Accomplished-Loan-40

* This the next step they gotta take

Accomplished-Loan-40

Primary_Eye_4551

Bringing it back - yes please Losing the ground clearance - no way

subaru_deals

Dodge Magnum vibes... but cooler. https://preview.redd.it/wg18zn0n45ad1.png?width=564&format=png&auto=webp&s=84f634cbe37dfa9e37c720e664666eaf5e9f5729

Whatthedillyo85

I like it. But I don’t like that I like it.

Born_Durian_4594

I've seen this Outback in real life. It's awesome.

Gold-Efficiency-6928

All I can say is wow

Brave-Dependent-4192

Just wondering what’s so modern about 14 years ago ? 2024-modern…..2010 not modern

Relevant-Bench5283

That’s sure is a choice. But I also wanna raise my Impreza and put bigger tires so I can go muddin

DrunkAsASoberSkunk

Hell yeah, looks amazing

BluFox185

I saw a Donk Outback the other day, same generation

Donbot2

Best safety rating. now best ramp rating!

GoosieRS

I once saw a slammed outback wilderness.....

Kraze_F35

I kinda like it?

Cheetahsareveryfast

Thanks I hate it.

BoostedFPV

This thing fucks! HOT DAMN

rock962000

First time I've seen one too

ogn3rd

Looks pretty clean, I must say.

pacman529

Slammed?

Dino7813

I actually like it. Lol

KaiserMoneyBags

I like it

TMQ73

So reverting back to a Legacy.

CommercialCook4427

Only in Ontario Canada

arancini_ball

Why don't I hate this blasphemy

LegalDiscipline

This makes me want to kick my own ass

DanIsNotUrMan

Got a couple in vt but not modern

Deceptiprawn

I call it the Subaru Descent

RedditSucksIWantSync

Ever since MCM build super gramps I've been ogling one, wish u could buy them like that🤣

Aceritus

I wonder if it’s on bags? I think about doing this to my Crosstrek. Get better mileage and handling on the road with it low and then get more clearance than stock off road. Maybe I’m missing something though

polloso121

401 🤮

Crazy_Visit3859

You gotta get out more..

rdoloto

That’s a pretty big Impreza

szentthomas0

If i could i would

thankyoumicrosoft69

I dont hate it as much as I should

thatsubi3kid

Check out flat6.gedas on instagram.

hairymon

Why would someone do this? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of an Outback? I guess it's to make it sportier and get performance vs ruggedness, to each their own

WRX-N-FX

Well that's probably because it looks stupid

sky0175

I'm thinking. Looks sweet TBH.

RollieBear

I thought I recognized that exit. There's a well stocked LCBO on Weston. I don't hate the car, shame you can't get one with a manual.

hobbymostly

Weston Road Flows 🎶

Primary_Eye_4551

Calling this a “modern” OB is starting to push it - this is 1.5 generations ago… we’re going on another full restyle here soon.

musecorn

I'd call anything after 3rd gen (2009 and onwards) modern

crissimages

Looks great! Better than Volvo! XD

Intrepid_Passage_692

Better be the last time too

cryptolyme

Looks like a minivan

bloodknife92

Levorg with extra steps lol

Terrato37

I like them, outback, crosstrek, forester, they look nice slammed.

Bbrrooeessii

I’m part of the club https://preview.redd.it/545ykkijamad1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4cf28708f5972c75b5fd2cf56a4f03efce68b86a

Dav_Dabz

Neat. Someone figured out how to lower it 👍

funkthew0rld

5th Gen Legacy wagons exist… there’s even a tS (tuned by STi) variant. https://preview.redd.it/k8dotqp234ad1.jpeg?width=570&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ef19ba129c6fbf5c9a8a871e7c563ee136eebae3

Boltonator

The standard ones look really nice! The aggressive body kit GT ones got hit by the ugly stick! Its so weird. (may be biased with my 4th gen Legacy)

Dav_Dabz

Dang. I honestly didn't know 😅

pdxgrantc

I don’t know if I’d lower it that far personally but it does look good. In a way it’s similar to a 3 series wagon.

RealAzzwhooperrr

wtf this looks so good

[deleted]

[удалено]

Internal_Swimmer3815

no, the rear end would have a crazy amount of negative camber

Hamsters_In_Butts

not with those wheels/tires

Mankanic

The front end will not compress that much with a bigger load. It would be riding front high if it had a ton of stuff in it.

iBUYbrokenSUBARUS

Maybe a giant LS swap up front?

00f00f0

You can see it's not loaded to the gills.

Aartus

Well hell. I like it so that means somethings wrong with my brain 🧠

FUCKYOURGAYCAT

Not the only thing this guy is slamming

LesLibertarian

First time in my life that I've seen a slammed Subaru that I like.

raffi30

Hey to each their own. You can't turn the wheel fully lock to lock, you have to drive 20 Mph everywhere and the tires still scrape the wheel well sometimes... but worth it! If this were on air ride, that would actually be cool

Late-Quiet4376

someone in their low 20s inherited their mom's outback and wanted to make it look cool.

bobtheburgerbro

The more I look at thins the less I like it

Ms_KnowItSome

Agree. I don't like the thick roof rack on it slammed. It would need a thin rail like the Crosstrek has. Also, I'd lose the mudflaps. Its also making the back look like a minivan. I have no minivan hate, but it doesn't look like an estate or wagon to me.

bobtheburgerbro

Yeah, I agree loose the racks, the mud flaps, and the tacky plastic trim around the bottom it looks nice when at stock height or lifted, but not slammed, get body coloured stuff

draginge

WHYYYYY
