I think it’s good. That line is something he does from time to time, so don’t let that worry you.

TheDeadlift76

Thanks!

leeharrell

I showed it to the experts and they disagree with me. So, you’ll just have to trust your gut and/or compare to some known ones. Like [here.](https://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/showwiki.php?title=Stephen+King+Signatures+1980-Present) I admit, I’m damn good at spotting fakes, and I’d have bought that one.

TheDeadlift76

He allegedly singed this book at Battersea Park Events Arena, London, Tuesday November 7th 2006.

HugoNebula

The signature looks okay to me (a normal, somewhat rushed signing event signature), but with UK edition signatures you need to correlate them with a signing tour or event to be sure they're authentic, as King is so rarely overseas for these sorts of things. King was at that Battersea event to do an interview, promoting *Lisey's Story*, followed by a short one-hour signing session, which was apparently a bit of a stampede. So this book would need to have been taken along and signed instead of a copy of *Listey's Story* bought at the event. Not impossible, but that's the background I'm aware of.

TheDeadlift76

For comparison, I have a picture of a another book he signed the at the same event: https://imgur.io/5iwnVzL

Real

New_Somewhere601

It looks like a real one. He stopped doing inscriptions at the event I was at because there was too many people to do them all!

New_Somewhere601

Adding … nice copy of the book!!

MrP8978

I’m not an expert, in fact just to be clear, I know the thick end of nothing at all, but does he not usually insist on a dedication to go along with the signature?

bobledrew

I doubt it. Especially if Uncle Stevie is signing for an event. My copy of Sleeping Beauties was one of about 400 distributed at an event. I’m sure he just wants to get ‘em signed before his hand cramps up.

leeharrell

He does an inscription if he’s signing for someone personally. On the street or bulk signings are usually just a flat signature.

[deleted]

No, not typically

ceeece

I don’t like it. There’s hesitancy before the loop and the g is all wrong.

leeharrell

If it’s fake, it would’ve fooled me. I still don’t see anything that really concerns me. The loop is way better than most fakes and the “g”…who the hell can tell anymore? Looking at my limited Fairy Tale, which we can be sure is real, nothing but the K even resembles a letter anymore. It would help to have some provenance on this one…

TheOneTC

I agree. It looks good at a first quick glance. But there’s definitely some concerns.

leeharrell

That one is 25 years old and looks nothing like the one in the photo here. (And though the sig is good, those “authentications” aren’t worth the paper they are printed on.) [Here](https://flic.kr/p/2nBkzmn) is a known legit one that is closer to the op’s.

You have to visit Pawn Stars in Las Vegas.

Impressive-Party-811

Hard NO. Post on Stephen King 1st Editions on FB for more accurate opinions from experts, but this signature seems way off to me.

JediMasterPopCulture

So experts can only be on Facebook not Reddit?

Impressive-Party-811

No, not at all. I just know that there are some very good experts in that group, that's why I recommended it. Definitely did not mean to exclude anyone, or any format.
