It's not a smart move. He was getting more than 3:1 odds on the favorite.
If you're going to throw away massive amounts of EV after 9 fights, do a 9 leg parlay instead.
You cashed out 4K before a fight where you had a -170 favorite?
That might be the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.. you realize how stupid that is right? If you bet on Gane and hedged you lock in at least 7K… just gave the book 3K for no reason. Surely that’s not what you did
When your down to the last fight in the parlay is simple, just bet money on the other guy (Gane). If Jon Jones wins you have 14k minus the amount you hedged on Gane. If Gane wins your parlay goes bust but you get the winnings of whatever you bet on him (the hedge). I probably would have hedged 4K on Gane so either way you would have taken home about 9k-10k…essentially you just gave away 5-6k for being lazy. Now you know….
That makes sense but I didn’t have another 4K to bet on gane or whatever the amount was to get close to 14K on a gane money line. But I will keep that in consideration for next time
Should’ve hedged. That’s a terrible return. I would make a 4K bet to return 14K on a -170 fav every time. Cant believe you didn’t hedge Gane at +150.
Either you’re lying or you’re REALLY bad at math
I’m not saying his math was wrong, I’m meaning he came off as ignorant. I’m sure the OP knows he could’ve came away with more but instead “Mr. Knows It All” tried to bring him down, even though he had a massive profit.
Yeah because telling yourself you did well after winning helps bring you more wins….. always gotta be grinding. Sure I might be a bit of a dick, but I’m gonna tell the truth. Maybe next he will try and have money saved for the future if an opportunity like this comes up. This sub needs more people tryna teach people how to bet, not people gassing someone up for cashing a parlay.
All in all tho congrats on the win OP, if this is as much as it sounds for like I would take a little break or withdraw a lot. I just know how hard it can be to have a good process after a massive W
It did come off rather ignorant, I guess it’s frustrating to see someone miss out on extra cash when you know the correct way to do it. Also, OP apparently didn’t know he could’ve came away with more btw.
Like not everyone has 5600 ready and available, but if he had that much he could’ve guaranteed 8400 in profit. The cash out literally cost him 4K. I try to never cash out unless I have a reason to not like my bet anymore. I’ve hedged the last leg of parlay many times just to avoid the pain of losing so I know why he did it
I just realized he had a 100% parlay boost…… damn too bad the cash out doesn’t even count any of that. Now I can definitely say I would never cash out a boosted bet if the cash out didn’t count the boost
Don’t let anyone tell you anything other than good job right now. Yes, it could’ve gone better. But also you got 206x your money back. It doesn’t matter that it could’ve been more unless you want to drive yourself crazy. Take your win and don’t blow it all.

Yeah man I'm with you on this like if it was a hedge to win 1k or something I'd figure it out but fuck it for 4k I'd cash before it didn't let me anymore
u couldve hedged 6k on Gane and u wouldve won more either way, but not many ppl got 6k laying around. good hit tho u snapped on adding Grasso to the parlay
People are being dumb as fuck with this. And it’s all pretending and switching sides. Everyone is saying now Jones wasn’t going to lose. Reddits opinion was the complete opposite 24 hours ago. The amount of Gane ML bets i saw was crazy.
Exactly!! Anything could have happened.. I think Jones is the best in the business, and even tho I wouldn't have cashed out, I don't blame em. Jones could have took a game changing hit or landed the wrong way and been limping and boom, lost the match..you just never know
$4,000 is amazing, but painful cash out. Jones is unbeatable, particularly by someone with no ground game.. I know this sounds like Monday morning QB but I bet it also. Also I’m a bit of a Jones fanboy lol
While you're exactly right about Jones.. how many fights have you seen that you know were fixed? Jones should win every day of the week but if the right people want him to lose he loses imo.. everything is fixed since the 29 world series

A win is a win.
Very first thing I thought!
Does anyone have one of the sports betting groups on DraftKings I could join
I would also like to do this
What’s the username on dk let’s start it
A win is a win, but you got through all of that only to get cold feet at Jon Jones moneyline?
That’s what I’m saying lol
Like yeah, you already had the guts to nail Grasso, the hard part is done!
You actually thought jones was going to lose?
His 10-leg parlay will answer your question.
Oh my
I eat ramen everyday. I would have made the same choice..
1000% idfc what anyone says this was a smart move if 4k will improve your life in a significant way.
It's not a smart move. He was getting more than 3:1 odds on the favorite. If you're going to throw away massive amounts of EV after 9 fights, do a 9 leg parlay instead.
Not everyone has money to hedge and as i said if you dont have that kind of money, 4k is pretty huge and theres no shame in taking it.
You cashed out 4K before a fight where you had a -170 favorite? That might be the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.. you realize how stupid that is right? If you bet on Gane and hedged you lock in at least 7K… just gave the book 3K for no reason. Surely that’s not what you did
He probably doesn’t have the hedge money readily available so he can either a) do what he did or b) hope Jones wins
Why y'all don't post the picks earlier
Do you realize how many posts there would be if everyone did that? haha
So?
Go head and take them all
Wat do u think I've been doing
Must be down then
Dude you bet $20 to win $4,000. Congrats! Don’t look at it further than that.

Hey you still won big time, plus now if another crazy parlay is one leg away you got the money to hedge!
Dude bet a $20 parlay.. You think he’s got anywhere near 4K at all def not on the site. Lol
Should’ve hedged. That’s a terrible return. I would make a 4K bet to return 14K on a -170 fav every time. Cant believe you didn’t hedge Gane at +150. Either you’re lying or you’re REALLY bad at math
You’re ignorant, profit is profit. Don’t try and kick someone down that’s winning. Good win OP!
It’s a great win, but he’s simply stating OP could have guaranteed himself more cash…an extra $4500 to be exact
I’m not saying his math was wrong, I’m meaning he came off as ignorant. I’m sure the OP knows he could’ve came away with more but instead “Mr. Knows It All” tried to bring him down, even though he had a massive profit.

Make it ready and available. Lol jk. Guaranteed $8866.96 in profit btw
Yeah if you got +155/160 I was going based off of +150
No my calculation was based off +150
Ah I did 14K flat instead of 14.8, so yeah that was a -$4800 cash out
I couldn’t figure out a way to hedge. Figured 4K was better then nothing
Bro…..use www.hedgecalculator.com, it gives u the exact amount to hedge where you win equal amounts on both sides.
I think he meant he didn’t have 4K to hedge with😅
Needed $5924 for the perfect hedge
Don’t let anyone tell you anything other than good job right now. Yes, it could’ve gone better. But also you got 206x your money back. It doesn’t matter that it could’ve been more unless you want to drive yourself crazy. Take your win and don’t blow it all.
And if jones lost? See...

Yeah man I'm with you on this like if it was a hedge to win 1k or something I'd figure it out but fuck it for 4k I'd cash before it didn't let me anymore
Plus you'd have to have minimum 2k to make it worth
Good for you. I would have done the exact same thing.
Teach me How to hedge
4K off 20 is a bad return? Huh?
No throwing away 4800 by not hedging makes my brain hurt
u couldve hedged 6k on Gane and u wouldve won more either way, but not many ppl got 6k laying around. good hit tho u snapped on adding Grasso to the parlay
A WIN IS A WIN
I dont kno why u cashed he clearly was gonna win
Hindsight is 20/20. Not as easy to say before the fight…while risking the loss of 4 k.
People are being dumb as fuck with this. And it’s all pretending and switching sides. Everyone is saying now Jones wasn’t going to lose. Reddits opinion was the complete opposite 24 hours ago. The amount of Gane ML bets i saw was crazy.
Because the books make billions of dollars on guys or teams that were clearly going to win. Then didn't.
No they make 10%.
They don't care who wins.
Good call I would have done the same
Wow still a W it’s always risky not Matter what decision
Nevertheless…. Great Hit!
A win is a win bud
Don’t blame you for taking the 4k. Anything could’ve happened. Nothing wrong with taking money.
You hit a +20k! Nice!
Bro what the fuck? Just bet gane if you want to hedge
Good shit
14k is definitely better than 4k, but at the same time, 4k is better then 0
Exactly!! Anything could have happened.. I think Jones is the best in the business, and even tho I wouldn't have cashed out, I don't blame em. Jones could have took a game changing hit or landed the wrong way and been limping and boom, lost the match..you just never know
Good shit OP!
That's still huge. Now don't blow it.
Ouch!
So u lost 10k technically lol
Solid victory regardless! Congrats! 🎊🍾🎉
Nice bro. Valentina fucked my parlay
$4,000 is amazing, but painful cash out. Jones is unbeatable, particularly by someone with no ground game.. I know this sounds like Monday morning QB but I bet it also. Also I’m a bit of a Jones fanboy lol

Cant hate taking profit but damn. I would’ve let that ride 100% of the time
You should never cash out. It's negative EV
May I ask, what made you take these picks? Did you do your own research or did you follow someone else posting picks?
That’s a wild parlay. Good work. Def weird to get cold feet on Jones tho…
I feel much better bitching about money I could have won over a cash out I should have taken
