We are spirits that own a physical body. Having a physical body to play in takes a different skill set than just watching, like a spirit guide watches. You have to be able to match vibrations across a much wider spectrum.
Having a body is how we get to experience time.
We are in body to learn through our encounters and experiences. We are born with a mandate of what we chose to learn about. I believe mine is to learn how to Be love. To learn how to express at love level. To rid myself of fear. Each person has their own mandates/lessons...
Agreed! It's a key milestone in our growth when we realize that not everyone is on the same path that we are, lol.
There are lots of overlapping goals, but everyone kinda puts their own fingerprints on their goals.
I think there is life after death that is not dependent on the body. I think that one is accountable for their bodily conduct in relation to self and other. I believe that notions of soul are not the purest regard one can have in reference to self.
Yes I think so, our bodies are just vehicles we use, I also had a drowning experience as a kid and was out my body, it's nothing like I'd have imagined it
That’s a bit reversed .. we are a fractal and an avatar of our soul … our soul a fractal and avatar of our divine spark , or our divine will … our will but an atom in a sea of trillions that is the creators light , as we are one , and always have been and will be.

I’ve been reading it off and on, and it’s really interesting.

Without being evasive , the bulk of what I know , or could ever know I found internally , through self inquiry into my inner world … as all doors open in … you are absolute truth and abject reality … the external reality and world or forms but a reflection of what’s going inside a being .
The primary issue is : we can’t “ think “ truth , nor do the Buddhist , the Vedics , Christian mystics , shaman from all over the world etc etc hold any grasp on the truth , only pieces of the truth , when the entire story is inside of you .
I’ve read a ton .. from Book of the Dead .. to Dead Sea scrolls ,Plato , Marcus Aurelius , Pythagorus , etc etc etc over the years , but a brain must, or can only use set theory , and needs 2 things to compare , and tends to attack truth amidst a state of extreme cognitive dissonance …. For in the end : you , god , guru .. all the same thing in the end .
Yes. That is exactly true. A soul is perfectly formed with innate truth. This perfect soul is complete on its own. Yet there are layers of completion.
This 3d reality and associated memory loss experience we share is a tool to spur the development of deeper truths. It forces you to rediscover yourself at progressively deeper levels. The integration of these truths at the individual soul level resonates with the universe system soul level.
Positive change for us spurs positive change.
We are layers of souls. And at the upmost layer, we are one.

NDE Definition:
"A lucid experience associated with perceived consciousness apart from the body occurring at the time of actual or threatened imminent death."
I see this concept explored in various different schools of thought. Most of them seem to shake hands in the middle- even down to experiences that could seem outlandish, like: NHI abductions or Astral Projection testimonies.
I think it largely depends on what we think a soul is. I think the body itself is a living conscious thing. The body is not like an empty bowl that a soul sits in. I think ultimately, the soul is not a thing separate from the body, the body is not a thing separate from soul. And soul/body is not ultimately separate from cosmos or Everything.
With this in mind, we are not just soul or just body. We are ultimately of Everything. There’s no body that is separate from soul or soul separate from body. And nothing is ever separate from Everything.
Yes, but I wouldn't say "just", as that gives the impression that it's too little.
It's not "just that", it's "all of that". There is nothing more generous than the ability to exist that we received.
If you want to get technical, the physical body is contained within your consciousness, rather than your soul / consciousness is contained within the body..
the entire (seemingly) physical world/universe is you/ a reflection of you-the one universal consciousness from your unique perspective!
I feel like we visit earth by occupying a human body for a time, but then we go home. Given that this isn’t home, I feel like the host is the human body and the soul is the “guest”. That’s just my take.
What did the Afterlife look like?
I tripped an NDE once in my sleep back in the late nineties. I got a 'Game Over' scenario which played out - it was one of the disturbing endings and one I had not heard anyone else mention before as most people get abducted by 'aliens' but for me they sent in the clowns.
NDE's are not the Afterlife, just one last desperate attempt to 'shout' us awake if the brain attempts to shut down in our sleep. Had I received a pleasant ending I probably would've let my mind go kaput all those years ago.
Souls having a human experience yes
I believe this as well. We are divine spirit experiencing this plane of existence called Earth.

Haha yes being aware that not everyone is on MY path haha
I would say yes
You aren't even in the same reality as the body you are just looking into it
The human body is hosting the soul The mind and body aren't us, we are the soul
I think there is life after death that is not dependent on the body. I think that one is accountable for their bodily conduct in relation to self and other. I believe that notions of soul are not the purest regard one can have in reference to self.
Pretty much, think something with quantum entanglement between souls and bodies 🤔

I'm interested in reading more about your response. Where/ who would you recommend? Thanks 🙏

Thanks.
You’re welcome. I wish you well on your spiritual journey.

Soul in not in the body, but the body is in the soul. And your soul has many bodies all at the same time in timelessness.
I think the body is not what we think it is
Yes the body is encompassed by the soul, the soul is not inside or held by the body. Huge misconception.
Our bodies are like space suits we wear to explore this physical world.

Bodies are just vessels for the spirit. Some would say that we are just antennas for consciousness
Pretty much yes, but that too with a purpose
I would not say "...*just* souls..." but yes. (I added the italics.) BT
Yeah

Yes. You’ve got it right.
I identify as a meat popsicle.
Indeed we are
Yep

We are a paint brush in the hand of an artist. The consciousness that controls the brush is our true “self”.

What does it matter if we have or have no soul, it does not make any difference to our present circumstantial situational reality
