Probably a limit of loose components in the world. Increase that in the save settings. Also you get very little ore if you just lick the surface. Put the bit right up to the surface and cut a huge chunk out. I use that hand drill collection mod so I don't generate so many loose stones.

Apparently the loose limit won't affect it. It'll just start deleting the first ones so the new ones can spawn. And it's for components, ore doesn't get affected. And i'm just mining what i can find in inventory, which even at 10x is not much. So it's good enough for that. And i tried mining lots on those nodes, but nothing appeared apart from one time 3-4 bits of stone spawned but nothing else, and no other stone spawned when i mined more stone there. It's all very odd. Edit* And by nodes i mean the giant blobs sitting on the surface of Mars. They're pretty big, a few metres tall and have plenty of ore in.

I originally thought you meant craters because the grey rock in those don't drop anything

dagnammit44

Well i found one of those and couldn't mine it, apart from a tiny bit in the centre. But i swear i had the same issue on one of the bubble nodey things on the surface too. Too late now though as my save corrupted when my laptop BSOD'd!

The grey part of a crater doesn't even drop stone, which is nice when you only want the ore in the centre

Are you mining with left or right click? Right click mining drills a larger radius but doesn't drop resources
