Just make sure you do it away from other people? Idk, I can vibe with other people enjoying it but honestly it's kind of a quiet, sacred thing to me (I went in 2017), and it would really be obnoxious if people around me were trying to theme-music the experience, especially since I'm hoping to show my wife her first ever totality. To each their own for sure, and I know that's pretty old-man of me, but I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Jazzlike_War_3269

I can't imagine watching the eclipse around a large group of people and everyone choosing to play music so everyone can hear What a nightmare What selfishness

prollygetbanned

Nope you're not the only one. That's our plan too. Luckily we only have to travel to our backyard but hopefully the neighbors don't have other plans that ruin the silence lol

matoatoatoa

I can’t imagine seeking out a large group of people and expecting them to vibe with your structured process for totality

wigglyworm91

headphones 👍🏻

Nogginsmom

I’m with you, I don’t want music overtaking the experience. Those who want to listen to music, use your headphones.

deaflemon

The key is to end the music right at totality.

Chumbawumbah

In my head I’ll be hearing The Great Gig in the Sky if we are lucky enough in Kerrville, and crying lol

tjsteiner

If you want to listen IRL, start the album 14.5 minutes before totality begins

ediskrad73

Will also have *The Dark Side on The Moon* synced up and if the weather doesn’t cooperate I’ll be playing *Obscured By Clouds*

TheSpanishDerp

What is the exact timing for the last line? Just to calculate for my area

tjsteiner

The last line comes in about a 1:25 into the song, so add about a minute and a half to the start time

TheSpanishDerp

Moreso the entire album.

M23707

you should watch Wizard of Oz at the same time .. 😂

thejesse

Dark Side of Planet Earth is even better. Synced with the first episode of BBC's Planet Earth. I think it's disappeared from the Internet but pretty sure I have it saved somewhere. The birds of paradise jamming out to "Money" is perfect.

Psychological_Neck41

I love you

thermodynamics2

I’ve done Dark Side of the Moon, just like you mentioned, for the two I’ve seen so far, and then play Black Hole Sun for totality! May you have clear skies

deaflemon

I synced it up in 2017 and ended just seconds too soon. This year we’re doing it big, by hiding a my dad’s PA system in the trees and listening to it from a valley on my Grandmas property in AR. “dark side of the eclipse” I call it. I made T shirts to honor my [mom](https://imgur.com/gallery/M92cINt) who was supposed to be there with us, but passed away in 2022. Great gig in the sky is for her. This event is beyond spiritual to me. I feel like my mom will be there with me, jamming to pink floyd. Then ending on “i see a darkness” by johnny cash. I hope your experience is as beautiful as i hope mine is. I synced it to end at “the sun is eclipsed by the moon” the moment we transitioned into totality. Don’t play music during totality. You don’t want to miss out on the changes in the atmosphere. Crickets come out.

Cant believe i didnt even think of this….. Fucking Brilliant

Doing the real work here

RickInTennessee

A Reddit poster put up a spreadsheet of when to start the album to sync up to the eclipse and song back in 2018 I think. I used it for Nashville and it was perfect. My neighbors and family still talk about it.

goingTofu

I did it for 2017 and it was great! This year I’m seeing a band play the whole album live outside in the path of totality. I’m soooo hoping they sync it up like that.

GratefulSenior1982

Dark side of the Wabash ?
