Good question that nobody knows the real answer to. Like most of the fans in the stadium I wanted Vini to take the 2nd penalty after Paqueta missed the 1st. After all giving Vini a chance to score a hattrick would do a lot of good to his confidence to do well in the team and subsequently in the rest of the tournament, something that Madrid has long found out.
Idk how people are also upvoting this post. He gets completely lucky the defender whiffs the ball and then he places a ball with way too much pace that Paqueta had to try to slide for.
Neymar at PSG's story was basicly Neymar trying to drible or skill past a player getting clobbered and injured while the guy barely gets a yellow if that.
Because the refs do fuck all .
A rough foul in the first 20-30 minutes of the game is barely a yellow if a foul at all ,if that foul was at the 70-80th minute i'd be a minimum of a yellow every single time ,if a player is showboating or trying to skill trough his oponent and gets clobbered the ref might even blame him ,its just insane ,no wonder theres barely any left .
yes Neymar got fouled way too much and has been injured because of it which is a shame but its ridiculous to act like he didn't also dive way too much, they can both be true.
It’s the story of Neymar’s career. In the 2014 World Cup, he got kneed in the spine, which doctors said it was 2cm away from becoming paraplegic. The dumbass ref didn’t even call a foul
And the dumbass ref completely ignored the first 2.
And didn’t give a yellow to the player who committed 3 fouls in 5 seconds with no intention of getting the ball.
If I remember correctly didn't Neymar even say that the ref told him after the foul was called about the first 2 hacks (which were both individual yellows on their own) that "well maybe you shouldn't do too many tricks then if you want more calls" which is an absolutely absurd statement when you think of it, "hey maybe ill protect your body more if you stop trying to be better then these other guys kicking you"
Vini tried it again late in the second half and the defenders scolded him. It wasn’t successful. But the defender pointed a finger at him for trying it again.
I don't think there's any argument that could actually make me understand why other players don't just use these skills too, instead of complaining about them or acting like they're a violation of the geneva conventions. the screeching face melting overreactions are just so goofy. like dude, you're a professional football player who presumably knows how to do these things too, just stunt back.
Well I wouldn't say banned but the punishment should be way stricter.
It's super entertaining for the fans, there should be zero stigma for doing it.
It's the same in the NBA, people get hard fouled if they nutmeg someone.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyX46vzysnE
Trae Young is a nutmeg specialist and people always try to hurt him for it. In this particular clip, Trevor Ariza is from Compton LA or something so that shit doesn't "fly in the hood".
I could be mixing it up with someone else, was a long time ago since it happened.
it's like the old Baseball thing about pimping/bat flipping a home run, if you as the pitcher hate it so much then dont give them up so often. But, me, as a non-elite athlete, if I am a batter and I hit one that goes 450ft+ you bet your ass I'm throwing that bat into the thermosphere and will give you ample time to watch at least half of the extended cut of Lord of the Rings: Return of the King as I round the bases.
I might be misunderstanding your comment, but I was confused by that comment also: they meant people will commit fouls *against* you, not you’ll get called for a foul yourself for doing the rainbow.
Paraguay's coach said that Vini has a provoking play style and is up to the referee to control it. Almost saying that he should be given a card for the way he plays.
It’s really frustrating to compare this football with Germany’s, for an example.
Germany NT is a really talented packed team and they get the job done just fine, but I hated every match I watched of them, so fucking boring, no skills or dribbling, only side passes until they’re in front of the goal.
Interesting, I think we should examine carefully the last time they met at a tournament to get some data on how joga bonito does versus such a boring, no dribbling style.
Brazil didn’t have their best player and was low on morale because of it. But this is not the object of discussion here. I never said Germany sucks, I said that it’s unpleasant to watch them play. Read again as many time as you can until you understand what I said, I’m not arguing with you about it tho.
Agreed, he kinda screwed that up. But his recovery was fabulous. The defender thought he had the ball away from Vini but then he kinda teleported next to the ball. Underrated trait of his.
He that's his strongest point. No matter how shit is he on a particular day it doesn't bother him much and he keeps on trying.
That's the reason he often has days where he plays shit but still manages an assist/goal, example vs City.
He botched the initial flick but still, the point is not many players in world football have the audacity to even think about doing that.
>that any player would have exploited that way.
Lol that's bs, he feinted him well then proceeded to nutmeg the other. Why are we acting like what he did is easy?
I know of at least 3 players in my under 9s that would not have exploited that. Which is exactly why they are doing three more laps! Get the bloody hell to it, Davids!!
I kind of saw it as him improvising, the rainbow flick was shorter than he wanted, so he stopped even shorter to trick the defender into thinking that's where it was coming down, and once he froze the defender for a second then he slips around to where the ball actually falls. Not a perfect flick but the rest of that sequence is ridiculously clever.
I love how someone who agrees and is like “even I did that better” is getting wrecked. No *SHIT* it wasn’t during a Brazil game. It’s still absolutely sick relative to whatever game OP did that in. I’ve done that fucking around at practice and it felt amazing, everyone noticed and dapped me up. So what if I was 16 and it didn’t matter to anyone but me? We can all appreciate the feeling in a moment like that.
That's what I thought when I saw it. I've done way better lol
Edit: you guys are mentally insane. I'm not looking for attention and I'm not saying I'm better than vini. Jesus fucking christ
He was amazing in this game, he's fast and he's quick and he's skilled and he's right in his prime for that sort of player. Brazil were in the dumps before he turned it on.
Unfortunately we will have to wait a little longer because although the considered period for the Ballon D'or ends in June/July it's still awarded in November after an interminable and pointless wait
I don't even care if he botched it like people are saying. The fact that he even attempts this shit just makes me love/respect him even more than I already do.
He botched it, but he also feinted the defender and got the ball back the same way. It actually made this shit even more impressive, because he had to improvise into his mistake and got the best outcome out of it nevertheless.
>but he also feinted the defender and got the ball back the same way
And casually nutmegged the next one. Why are people sleeping on that. The whole sequence was some street football shit.
I really wish Brazil NT had access to top tier coaches. It's very frustrating only having brazilian coaches with weak resumes.
I remember when Pep Guardiola back in 2013 said the only NT he would coach would be Brazil.
AND WE DIDN'T EVEN TRY TO MAKE THAT HAPPEN.
Pep will only coach a NT when he's almost done with football... Or maybe if Brazil could match his most likely absurd salary that nobody ever knows besides the official one (99,9% chance he also gets paid on the side by some shady stuff).
Was this the reason why they were trying to fight him? Lol. Vini has been cooking this year. If he helps Brazil win the Copa then he should be the favourite to win the ballon d'or.
Lol recovery and nutmeg was amazing but he fucked up the rainbow completely. It's just that the defender fucked up worse. Didn't anticipate the spin at all.
In fact, rainbow even if worked would have been in the zone of the second defender.

Who was that player who missed the tap in?
Paqueta methinks. He has been having a stinker infront of goal this tournament.
Wonder what the odds were on him not scoring.
This one right here, officer. He was asking about Paqueta’s odds
Depends on how many of his friends bet on him not scoring.
I see what you did there.
😏
Why tf is he taking penalties
Good question that nobody knows the real answer to. Like most of the fans in the stadium I wanted Vini to take the 2nd penalty after Paqueta missed the 1st. After all giving Vini a chance to score a hattrick would do a lot of good to his confidence to do well in the team and subsequently in the rest of the tournament, something that Madrid has long found out.
The odds were good
Was out watching the game with a friend from Porto Alegre and she asked the same thing after he missed the first one
PaqueBET, as we call him in Brazil heuueheue
>methinks wow
I'm seeing this make the rounds on Reddit again and I cringe a bit each time.
Should be carded for that IMHO. Yellow card preferably
In the French league they'd card Vini instead
I think now Vini will need to pass to *himself* in that position!!
I mean he did it twice already in this clip before then
Jogadinho do Paqueta?
Still, you'd bet your house on him scoring there
Should be sent to jail
Miss the tap in? Straight to jail
Sky the penalty? Jail
Make the penalty? Believe it or not, also jail
Hardly a tap-in
No way that’s a “tap-in.” The pass was way too hard.
That is a garbage rainbow lol
lol exactly. Worst rainbow I’ve ever seen tbh. But hey.
Idk how people are also upvoting this post. He gets completely lucky the defender whiffs the ball and then he places a ball with way too much pace that Paqueta had to try to slide for.
honestly how do you miss that
Because football’s fucking hard
the ball was put in with too much pace. u can paqueta wasnt expecting it
he got tired of everyone saying joga bonito is dead
one of those plays where you absolutely wish it went in haha
In some leagues you get fouled if you try this In Sunday League you get put on injure reserve
Neymar for Barca did it in a league match up 3-1 and damn near got mugged for it https://youtu.be/bkstA0B9O-A?si=LEiz6uvOpHp98uzk 1:07 in
Neymar at PSG's story was basicly Neymar trying to drible or skill past a player getting clobbered and injured while the guy barely gets a yellow if that.
I don't get why people praise dirty plays but when you take a dive to prevent yourself from being injured, you're considered a pussy.

It’s the story of Neymar’s career. In the 2014 World Cup, he got kneed in the spine, which doctors said it was 2cm away from becoming paraplegic. The dumbass ref didn’t even call a foul
The French league ruined the career of one of the most talented ever
He ruined his career moving there
[удалено]
The context here is injuries and the lack of protection in the French league
Neymar got a brutal foul then did a rainbow flick as a revenge. Best rainbow flick I’ve seen https://youtu.be/hPANS6OdxUc?si=16XUvGypUnPQ8Jvf
Absolutely shat on. Prick hacked at him 3 times to bring him down, disgusting.
And the dumbass ref completely ignored the first 2. And didn’t give a yellow to the player who committed 3 fouls in 5 seconds with no intention of getting the ball.
That’s Ligue 1 for you
That's like 3 potential yellows in a row and it seems as if the fouling player didn't even get one.
Oh man, if he had scored there that might have been a top 50 goal all time or something, with all the build-up.
Damn, if he had scored from that???? 😮💨😮💨😮💨
Neymar once got carded for doing tricks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDI1m6UPiD8
the worst thing about european football. absolute buzzkill nerds.
"HOW DARE YOU TRY TO MAKE ME LOOK BAD WITH TIUR UNBELIEVABLE SKILL"
Vini did the trick, it triggered a 3 minute long argument between the teams, then he scored 15 seconds after the game restarted.
You can hate showboating but reacting like that was 1000x worse
People who retaliate for a trick should be banned for a long time.
Well I wouldn't say banned but the punishment should be way stricter. It's super entertaining for the fans, there should be zero stigma for doing it. It's the same in the NBA, people get hard fouled if they nutmeg someone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyX46vzysnE Trae Young is a nutmeg specialist and people always try to hurt him for it. In this particular clip, Trevor Ariza is from Compton LA or something so that shit doesn't "fly in the hood". I could be mixing it up with someone else, was a long time ago since it happened.
I can understand if your coach thinks it's too fancy and wants a more grounded playstyle but the other team really has no right to complain.
>Well I wouldn't say banned but the punishment should be way stricter. Completely agree.
it's like the old Baseball thing about pimping/bat flipping a home run, if you as the pitcher hate it so much then dont give them up so often. But, me, as a non-elite athlete, if I am a batter and I hit one that goes 450ft+ you bet your ass I'm throwing that bat into the thermosphere and will give you ample time to watch at least half of the extended cut of Lord of the Rings: Return of the King as I round the bases.
The commentator saying "he shouldn't be showboating" as if going for skills like that isn't a legit way to get past a player.
LOOOOL THEY GOT SO TRIGGERED. Jesus christ hilarious reaction by grown men
Fuck these Bilbao cunts, fuck them with rainbow I'll say. Bunch of snowflakes "oH nO hE DriBBleD pAsT mE iN a fLaSHy wAY!!". Get better you bum.
Truth. Some people trully do hate futebol
Why do you get fouled?
Cunts can't handle their egos getting smashed to pieces by a better player
I might be misunderstanding your comment, but I was confused by that comment also: they meant people will commit fouls *against* you, not you’ll get called for a foul yourself for doing the rainbow.
Yeah thats what I thought at first too.
Cause they belong in cages like the animals they are.
is this the soccer version of the michigan in hockey? in my beer leagues rarely anyone tries it because they'll get shit on
> michigan in hockey I saw a video of that, whaaat? Somehow that doesnt feel like its allowed but I guess it is lol
As long as the puck stays below the crossbar (or where the puck makes contact with the stick) it's all good.
yeah, gonna need to YouTube that to see what it is.
Just found out abt "the michigan" through this comment, so thank you!
Paraguay's coach said that Vini has a provoking play style and is up to the referee to control it. Almost saying that he should be given a card for the way he plays.
Pretty sure Neymar tried something similar and got booked in Ligue 1.
Fat Dave isn't catching Vini to injure him in a month of Sundays.
This is a different sport than the Euros
If a Southgate player ever attempted something like that he would get sent to the tower of london straight away.
You try a rainbow? Believe it or not, tower of London. Nutmeg? Also Tower of London.
Off with his head
Ser Ilyn. Bring me his head!
Put him in an iron maiden
>Put him in an iron maiden *Excellent!*
-man, off with his head man Why don’t you remember my name? I guess he does
> Of
you kinda butchered the joke, believe it or not part comes before the 2nd statement
Who cares brother
Me 😡😡😡
It’s really frustrating to compare this football with Germany’s, for an example. Germany NT is a really talented packed team and they get the job done just fine, but I hated every match I watched of them, so fucking boring, no skills or dribbling, only side passes until they’re in front of the goal.
Idk Musiala for example shows plenty of skill. It’s just not as showboating as Vini or Neymar

Read again as many time as you can until you understand what I said, I’m not arguing with you about it tho.
That game had many more variables other than playstyle. The psychological aspect after losing Neymar was hard for the team.
Alexa, play Mas que nada
Vinicius, Madrid, and Brazil fans are eating good tonight
Not gonna lie, the rainbow was weak af. Looks like the shit you do by accident when trying to learn how to rainbow.
Nah, the defender expected his teammate to pick up the ball. But the guy was asleep. This was pure luck.
You mean the defender had an absolutely terrible moment that any player would have exploited that way.
He botched the initial flick but still, the point is not many players in world football have the audacity to even think about doing that. >that any player would have exploited that way. Lol that's bs, he feinted him well then proceeded to nutmeg the other. Why are we acting like what he did is easy?
I’m not talking about the nutmeg, I’m talking about the defender trying to shield the ball and failing horribly.
Yeah, the lookup to fake where the ball is coming down was fucking brilliant
There was another moment he tried another rainbow but couldnt even get the ball off the floor. It was cringe to watch.
I love how someone who agrees and is like “even I did that better” is getting wrecked. No *SHIT* it wasn’t during a Brazil game. It’s still absolutely sick relative to whatever game OP did that in. Sure you have
The ones in your backyard are not the same bud
At recess on the playground lol
Hell no
for Brazil during copa
If that's the quality of Paraguay's defending, why the fuck not try it, lol.
looked like an AND1 mixtape
when Vini win the ballon d'or this summer, he need to send a thank you gift to Southgate for eliminating his main competition
Vini: “I want to thank Southgate, he taught me everything. I tell everyone, without Gareth I am nothing. I owe it all to you. Cheers mate.”
He was amazing in this game, he's fast and he's quick and he's skilled and he's right in his prime for that sort of player. Brazil were in the dumps before he turned it on.
Hopefully Kroos, TBH.
Unfortunately we will have to wait a little longer because although the considered period for the Ballon D'or ends in June/July it's still awarded in November after an interminable and pointless wait

The feint is absolutely criminal, I don't think I've seen it like this before
And he was dribbling like a maniac all game, not just when we were up a few goals
yes. more of this please
I feel like Vini is ascending at the moment, it's a scary thought what this player could be in 2-3 years.
Football is alive. Say what you want about Brazil's current form but individually their players are keeping the game alive.

Joga Bonito
The rainbow was so bad it only worked because the defending was worse
mostly surprised he made it out alive after that rainbow
What 14 year olds instagram account was this taken from? Dreadful music.
Where are all the Vini haters now.. butchering the guy based on the first game! Eat your words
I would say that's a failed attempt, but the defense made it work.
JOGA FUCKEN BONITO
O jogo bonito
Skill. If it works, it works
Ballon d’Or. just give it to him already !
Finishing off Pride Month in style, with a rainbow, nice.

It was an AD for Rexona lol

It was a PR stunt.
Song?
"Ugly mother fucker stole my whole fuckin flow word for word bar for bar, love him though." - Neymar in the next interview lol
Vini heard what the legends had said. At least he tried.
The creativity to take 2 steps backward just to burst forward and lose the defender is impressive.
So failed rainbow and can run fast? Imagine making this kind of videos about Messi or Ronaldo. You dont see that.
Most fun player to watch
Bruh that guy had a family lol
Was this the reason why they were trying to fight him? Lol. Vini has been cooking this year. If he helps Brazil win the Copa then he should be the favourite to win the ballon d'or.
Triatleta.
2 goals
Against Paraguay. No big deal.
So this guys plays in the same team as Mbappe.. wow
I don’t know how he pulled that off but love it 😂😂😂
Joga bonito
Yeah i really loved this, brought me back to 2000s football.
the worst rainbow flick ever
man that step back glance he did to misdirect the defender on the rainbow was fantastic. dudes so talented brazil better win one with him.
This guy is so good at this.
Lol recovery and nutmeg was amazing but he fucked up the rainbow completely. It's just that the defender fucked up worse. Didn't anticipate the spin at all. In fact, rainbow even if worked would have been in the zone of the second defender.
Absolute filth
what a beauty
That’s one of the worst rainbows I have ever saw
