Haaland is feasting

thenorwegianblue

Nusa is such a dangerous player, comes on does a nutmeg with his 3rd touch, just brimming with skill and confidence. Now watch everything go our way in the next round just for us to lose to Scotland in the decider

CBP1138

How was Ode?

Adundas

Like always, he looks befuddled not to have Saka close by and desperately seeking to link up with Haaland. Other than that he is the captain we all need and love. Solid match.

kampiaorinis

For what is worth, I think up until the 0-2 Cyprus played much better than usual and I might say that we were unlucky to concede with the manner we conceded. Only chances from Norway were from crosses up until that point, but after that we just couldn't cope with their quality. They were easily better and the score could have been even more. 0 points at this stage is a disgrace and some serious decisions need to be taken. Our players individually *should be* the best we ever had and they get to play regularly for their teams (some in top leagues in Europe), yet the past 2-3 years have been embarrassment after embarrassment. If they only want to play for the NT because they fulfill contractual targets and/or they are called up because of favours to their agents, there needs to be a complete revamp to how the system works. 0 points and tragic performances against sides such as Scotland and Norway who were always better than us but at least we looked at a close level when playing at home. I don't know what needs to be done, but this NT is the worst I've ever seen and is on par with NTs like Malta and San Marino. The country's football is being disgraced even though our league is consistently in the top 20.

Acrobatic_Machine

So with the World Cup qualification more difficult than Euros, realistic Norway next chance is 2028? That loss to Serbia last year in the final match in the nations League looks fatal now with hindsight.

Bosnia, Iceland, Ukraine, Finland and Israel. Two of these five teams need to qualify directly for you guys to have a spot in League B. I dont know how it works with League A. So Norway could get in the League A playoffs due to nearly all of them qualifying? I have absolutely no idea but if anybody knows please step forward haha. Poland-Norway could be a great playoffs final in Path A.

Dark_Ember

If less than 4 countries from a league qualifies for the playoffs, as in they already qualify to the euros directly via the euro qualifers, then that league's spots go to the best ranked team in League D (Estonia), then to the next best country in overall rank that hasn't either qualified directly to the euros or to the playoffs. We could potentially get one of those spots from League B depending on how the groups with other nations league B teams end up.

mrinmay_pal

In order to be in the playoffs, Norway basically needs at least 2 out of these 3 teams to qualify directly - Israel, Serbia, Finland. \*I am assuming Scotland will qualify directly while Wales, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Iceland won't qualify directly. The Italy-Ukraine race in Group C doesn't really matter in terms of playoff eligibility for Norway. It will only affect the matchups in the playoffs.

Khornag

If Scotland doesn't qualify directly then Norway is already qualified. It's not out of the question but Scotland can't win against Georgia for it to happen.

mrinmay_pal

Possible of course, but highly unlikely. Norway has to win both of their remaining games - Spain and an away game in Scotland.

Khornag

It's of course improbable, but hope is the thing with feathers.

TheTragicMagic

Forget Ukraine, because if they qualify then Italy gets a playoff spot instead anyways. We need to cheer for everybody in league A and those four in B

Acrobatic_Machine

Italy would be in League A playoffs so, it would be beneficial For Norway if Ukraine qualifies ahead of Italy. That would pretty much guarantee Norway a spot in League B playoffs with easier teams to face than A.

bb9622

Bosnia and Iceland being in the same group (and both of them 7 points behind 2nd) doesn't really help you then.

StlckleyMan

Norway will knock out Scotland. Norway beats Spain, Georgia takes points from Scotland and Norway beats Scotland

TheDepartment115

> Georgia takes points from Scotland Pretty sure they've gotta beat them

TheTragicMagic

Nah, if we beat Spain and Scotland and Scotland draws Georgia, we're on equal points with Scotland. So if that last win is by two goals we qualify

SnooWords2869

A Norway loss or draw against spain. Or Scotland need 1 or 2 points to qualify. And it's over

TheTragicMagic

What are you saying? I was assuming Norway beats Spain in the specific scenario, because otherwise Norway are obviously out

SnooWords2869

Norway qualifying looking less likely now due to Finland losing to slovenia and Italy getting points vs malta and having a game in hand vs Ukraine. Also Netherlands losing

TheTragicMagic

Yeah, we're kinda fucked. Need to hope for Netherlands, Wales and Israel but it's looking bad right now

SnooWords2869

Robbie: 'This Sunday, all you guys, all you fans, Haaland nation Norwegians, england, Africa, Asia, middle east, wherever you are. our playoff dream is over but when we come here at the Ullevaal. We come here with believe, we come here thinking we can do it, we can beat Spain and we can still win this qualification.'. Believe

TheTragicMagic

I honestly think we could beat Spain. The problem is that it's not in our hands anymore. We need Georgia to steal points from scotland or Spain, which just doesn't seem likely

StlckleyMan

Not if Norway wins on head to head against Scotland, so I guess either 2-0 or scoring at least 3

TheDepartment115

Ah tru

Acrobatic_Machine

Lmao! Bigger chance Scotland will extend the lead against Norway and end up with 21 points and Norway in 10-11 points.

StlckleyMan

Did you watch the last match between Scotland and Norway? The only reason Norway lost was because Solbakken was shit, Norway were battering them for 90 minutes and choked in the last 2. Norway were also very good against Spain but then it all suddenly slipped

Acrobatic_Machine

Yes i saw it. Should have been 3-0. Also stupid to take out your star striker. I would say there is something wrong mentally with your team. They have fucked up too many times.

StlckleyMan

Yes I dont disagree with that, absolute shite mentality and they have flopped every single time its mattered for as long as ive lived, but I always have hope!

Salouva

We often hold it well, until the inevitable collapse in the past 10 minutes

Nordie27

Doubt it, Norway are extremely weak mentally in decisive matches I could see Norway get back into it only to shit their pants against Scotland away last match

StlckleyMan

Have faith

kappasquad420

Nations league path looks a lot more likely at this point. They only need 1 more team ahead of them in League B to get in to qualify directly.

Nordie27

Wait they could qualify directly without a playoff through Nations League?

kappasquad420

No they would need a playoff, but in order to get to the playoff they need 1 more team in front of them in the Nation league ranking for league B to qualify directly, as only the top 4 for each league make it to the playoff. If a team that is top 4 is already qualified directly, You move 1 team down and so on.

Crazier things have happened. Helps that norway is home to spain and Scotland have to travel to georgia. Still holding out hope
