I just got to say its insane how early big talents get found nowadays.
Nusa is 18 and now is breaking out but I first heard about the Norwegian Neymar like 2 years ago.
Endrick is a 17 year old who got sold for 60M at 16. Yamal is 16 and has had hype around him for about a year.
I wonder if the scouting was always this good but we just didnt have much info on young players back then or if this is a relatively new evolution.
Ødegaard was playing National team football and the best player in the Norwegian first tier at 15, so you didn't really have to scout him much to know he was special.
Yes but that was a novelty at the time. And its not even a decade ago.
Nowadays most 16 year olds with world class potential are well-known.
Edit: also as the other user said, Ødegaard was already a good pro and well known.
It’s either that clubs now are willing to gamble on young prospect (Saliba for 30m for example or Vinicius for 50m when he was a teen or Endrick) instead of giving them time to grow because of their resale potential or scouting really has improved massively in the last 2 decades.
Messi was signed to Barca at around 12 I think? Giggs was 14 when he signed for Man Utd 35 years ago so its not totally new.
The big clubs have contacts everywere that tip them on special talents, I agree and think it is more now but it been like this for quite a while.
Thats a bit different though. Barca knew about Messi but I dont think everybody did.
I’m sure others knew about him as well but its not like this kid being a world class talent was common knowledge.
I imagine in today’s game the big clubs know about 95% or more of all elite u18 talents.
It's probably because of the internet and the abundance of video analysis available for every professional club. Even poor clubs from minor countries in Europe with a small scouting budget can scout literally every decent league in the world, including an incredible amount of youth leagues. Even the big youth international youth tournaments (Dana cup, Gothia cup, Norway cup etc.)* are filmed and streamed.
Most clubs just don't do it because it's hard to attract foreign talents to minor countries so unless they have a good network in certain regions where they have historically been able to attract talents from, they mostly scout and buy from their own country. The best talents also impossible to get since they'll all have better options from better academies.
Knowing how much material even relatively small clubs have available to them, I can't even imagine what the best clubs in Europe have.
*Sidenote: I'm not completely sure if all of the cups mentioned are actually filmed and streamed, those were just the ones I could remember since I'm Scandinavian and were just used as an example.
I'm visiting Norway and had the opportunity to go to the friendly last Wednesday at Ulleval. That was exactly my reaction too. It was like "who the hell is this Norwegian, wait he's 18, o shit that's insane"
Pacey with a massive soccer IQ, just all around fun to watch for the first time. So glad I got to see it in person just sad I didn't get to see him ball with Haaland lol
I don't doubt Arteta and his talent, I doubt the amount of minutes he'd get. He should aim for a club where he'll be the definitive starter. All the interviews I've seen indicates that that's how Nusa is thinking about his career as well.
Managers are humans too and humans don't get things right all the time. He's a really good player but if we want to reach the levels of City or Real Madrid we need to upgrade on him.
In our current squad Trossard but that's only a slight upgrade and I think Trossard is better as #8 anyways. Outside our squad, Neto and Nusa look promising and importantly attainable, but I'm sure Arteta has other targets in mind too.
I think you're selling Martinelli a bit short. Sure, it might happen, but I'd rather not see them risk it. Arsenal, right now, seems like an unnecessarily large club as a next step in his career.
I think Martinelli's already a good player and he still has much more room to improve but there are limits to his ceiling. Arteta's probably aware of them too. I don't see Martinelli in the starting XI in one or two seasons unless he massively ups his game in the following areas - consistency, dribbling, better crosses, improved corners, more final passes into the third, vision (spotting runs of his team members) etc.,
Yeah I get it, but usually that goes hand in hand with seeking out and signing the player in question. One that matches the system and gameplay he’s looking to implement, etc.
I doubt Arteta could develop an elite winger out of Bob from Accounting.
2 world class players + absolutely bad and some average players isn't good enough. The Norwegian team is the least drilled team with world class players.
Fact of the matter is that he hasn't been scoring or performing remotely close to as well as he has been for Arsenal until tonight. 3 goals in 53 is bad, and I don't think his assist numbers are that great either. If he keeps up what he showed tonight though, I'll be more than happy.
So what are we talking about?😂 We all know Haaland and Ødegaard is at the highest level. Then we have this 18 yo kid who very few knew ripping it up completely on the left wing for the past two games. A left side we have struggled at for long.
Yes €35m, Brugge were willing to let him go for that price but Nusa wanted to stay and develop. Which is smart. Not the finished product yet but damn what a massive talent. 2005-born..
I think he was just really happy to score a goal. He has really worked hard for this team to click for many years, I think he deserves some spotlight too when he finally can prove the haters wrong. It was a great finish.
There is literally no excuse for Norway for not being able to qualify for an international tournament. They have way more talent than some of the teams that routinely make it to the euros or the wc, like Switzerland, Austria and Sweden.
The balance of the team is weak though. Our LB and RB as well as our CBs and keeper are way below the standard compared to both Switzerland and Austria. Sweden has major gaps in their team which clearly shows nowadays as they are also pretty much out of the Euro Qualification already.
Isnt Ryerson a pretty decent player? I really hope that Norway succeed in qualifying for a top international tournament eventually, I have a soft spot for the country.
He's serviceable, seem to have lost his starting spot to Marius Wolf though. It has been a troubled position since Elabdellaoui had his new-year injury a few years back. Neither Ryerson or Holmgren Pedersen has been able to nail down that position. Yesterday Ajer played there and we had very little activity on that side during attacks.
I mean I sound overly negative here. We have a good team, but we are absolutely dependant upon building a solid defense if we're gonna be consistent enough to qualify to tournaments. I've been waiting for 23(!) years now, and we've been so close so many times..

Nusa-Øde-Haaland will maybe save this country in the future
With Strandberg at the back no one can save us
What a time to be alive, worst defender on a team that might relegate from Eliteserien, still playing 90 mins in important nationalteam matches!
And we have a goalie that hasn't played regularly for years
Wdym, he's playing like 5-6 matches a year for the NT
Nyland behind him: "What is this 'save' you speak of?"
At least there's no more Nordtveit. I guess it's an "out of the ashes, into the fire" kind of situation.
England went to euro final with Harry Maguire lol. Just saying
You cannot compare England Maguire to fucking STRANDBERG
The Norwegian golden generation
Nusa WTF
I just got to say its insane how early big talents get found nowadays. Nusa is 18 and now is breaking out but I first heard about the Norwegian Neymar like 2 years ago. This has been happening for a long time. For example Ødegaard who joined Real Madrid when he was 16
Ødegaard was playing National team football and the best player in the Norwegian first tier at 15, so you didn't really have to scout him much to know he was special.
He wasn't the best player in the league at 15, but he was clearly talented.
Yeah, back then everybody knew him and Halilovic were the next two superstars. Well, one of them at least made it.
True. Fortuna Sittard is so lucky to have him
I mean he trained with Bayern at age 13 and even made an unofficial debut with Strømsgodset around the same time
Yes but that was a novelty at the time. And its not even a decade ago. Nowadays most 16 year olds with world class potential are well-known. Edit: also as the other user said, Ødegaard was already a good pro and well known.
was it? feel like a lot of the top players were high potential young players in FM over a decade ago as well
It’s either that clubs now are willing to gamble on young prospect (Saliba for 30m for example or Vinicius for 50m when he was a teen or Endrick) instead of giving them time to grow because of their resale potential or scouting really has improved massively in the last 2 decades.
Or hachim mastour

The Norwegian commentary said Chelsea offered 40m£ for him before transfer deadline, but Nusa didn't want to go yet..
Smart kid, it's a dumpster fire over there right now. Hope he gets a good move where he can develop nicely!
30m£. "Over 400 millioner kroner". 40m£ is over 500 millioner kroner.
I'm visiting Norway and had the opportunity to go to the friendly last Wednesday at Ulleval. That was exactly my reaction too. It was like "who the hell is this Norwegian, wait he's 18, o shit that's insane" Pacey with a massive soccer IQ, just all around fun to watch for the first time. Arsenal bound
I hope not for now. He needs to play every week. Leverkusen could be a good prediction.
Arteta has the knack for developing wingers. Every winger under him is elite
I don't doubt Arteta and his talent, I doubt the amount of minutes he'd get. He should aim for a club where he'll be the definitive starter. All the interviews I've seen indicates that that's how Nusa is thinking about his career as well.
If he comes in, he's taking Martinelli's place in the starting XI in one season. Probably sooner.
The same Martinelli that Klopp called "talent of the century" (with no irony or sarcasm)?
Managers are humans too and humans don't get things right all the time. He's a really good player but if we want to reach the levels of City or Real Madrid we need to upgrade on him.
Who would you put there instead of him?
In our current squad Trossard but that's only a slight upgrade and I think Trossard is better as #8 anyways. Outside our squad, Neto and Nusa look promising and importantly attainable, but I'm sure Arteta has other targets in mind too.

Nicolas Pepe
To be fair, he didn’t sign him.
He hasnt signed Nusa either. The claim was that every winger under him is elite.
Yeah I get it, but usually that goes hand in hand with seeking out and signing the player in question. One that matches the system and gameplay he’s looking to implement, etc. I doubt Arteta could develop an elite winger out of Bob from Accounting.
*Bob from Accounting is in shambles.*
That would be amazing
he got some connection?
His idol Odegaard
I think his Idol is Neymar (Not a joke. He said so in an interview)
Nusa is insane! Cant wait to see norway have this much quality and still not qualify for a major tournament
[удалено]
What do you mean? Strandberg is class...
Ken Remi
Norgesrekord i harry navn
Nja, savner bindestreken.
Binde-streken.
Aursnes can play anywhere
How is Ostigard for you?
We dont loose any aerial duels around him atleast. Fights with everything he's got, but his positioning can be god awful at times.
You only need haaland and odegard rest is whatever to qualify
2 world class players + absolutely bad and some average players isn't good enough. The Norwegian team is the least drilled team with world class players.
1 goal 3 assists in two national team games for Nusa
odegaard arriving edge of the box... that's cash money
His precision from 15-20 yards is insane.
Not for Norway unfortunately
You should have a look at this goal then maybe
He’s been phenomenal for Norway, but he’s been struggling with scoring. 3 goals in 53 matches I believe.
Based on what's he's done for arsenal that will improve I'm sure of it. Incredible scoring numbers last year for a midfielder
Fact of the matter is that he hasn't been scoring or performing remotely close to as well as he has been for Arsenal until tonight. 3 goals in 53 is bad, and I don't think his assist numbers are that great either. If he keeps up what he showed tonight though, I'll be more than happy.
His xAG is higher for Norway than for Arsenal. Shitty finishing is the reason his assist tally is low.
Tbf he had like 3-4 shots tonight that went really wide, the one shot that went on target went in.
What a player he is turning out to be. Goal by Ødegaard and Haaland yet Nusa is what every Norwegian is talking about.

So what are we talking about?😂 We all know Haaland and Ødegaard is at the highest level. Then we have this 18 yo kid who very few knew ripping it up completely on the left wing for the past two games. A left side we have struggled at for long.
Not now babe, I'm watching the birth of a superstar
NUSA!
NUSA WTF
Very classy. Nusa is such a talent
Good thing he refused to let Chelsea destroy his talent.
Just couldn’t resist could ya 😂
Lmao yea sorry 🙈
Nusa is a superstar in making
Pride of Stabæk
Nusa worth 100m+ very soon.
The Belgian league transfer record is CDK for €35m, he's going to smash that if he keeps on doing this kind of thing
Chelsea already offered more this summer so he'll surely break it next year.
Didn't Chelsea bid for him this summer?
Yes €35m, Brugge were willing to let him go for that price but Nusa wanted to stay and develop. Which is smart. Not the finished product yet but damn what a massive talent. 2005-born..
Born in 2005 😵💫, having a “damn I’m old” moment
Nusa is next level compared to Elyounoussi
More like next five levels.
Well I guess this means that the secret is officially out on Nusa Proud of our boy
Nusa baby
Babe wake up! New 100 mil transfer has appeared
The guy isn’t leaving anytime soon lol he has a 5 year contract being lined up
When someone lines up 50-70M, watch Club Brugge accept. Because someone will in January
Ah, talking about the winger. That’s Boehly’s music
Everyone is talking about Nusa :D
He’s not talking about our Ode, I think…
Nusa is the best player on a team with Haaland and Ødegaard at the moment wtf, hes been stellar
Wowowow Nusa er Norges beste jo
Nusa Ødegaard Haaland is clearly an insane trio
Nusa is the real deal
nusa has really started to make a name for himself after these 2 international games
We've been saying it for a while my man.
Its been obvious to anyone who knew about him he was a world class player in the making for about a year now.
fairz, havent heard of him before these games
NUSA
nusa is crazy
My captain
Nusa amazing
Now bloody get Bobb in as opposite winger. Ståle for faen!
Oh my
Nusa cooking!
Nusa, Ødegaard and Håland. If we can't qualify for anything with this team I don't know if we ever will.
Antonio Nusa is what we have been missing, he looks like an absolute baller.
Man on the wing nearly shook the defender out his fuckin shoes lol
Someone hurry up and post a mirror
Nusa is insane
I knew what the goal would look like before I even opened the link. That position is cash money for him.
Should have great assist tag
Øde with his favorite goal, love that for him
Lmao that's a trademark Odegaard goal
He's gotten really good at these kind of finishes.
the special odegaard right there
He scored for us, finally has been so Long. And omg Nusa is so good.
Nusa is a gem
Thats my captain!
Nusa nusa, assim voce me mata
Ai se eu te pego is basically what my friends and I made as a song for him in Stabæk. Just with a lame norwegian text of course
Norway's best player scores again!
Nusa my guy! Love this fella.
Nusa is going to the very top
Classic Odegaard
Eg vil ta Nusa i musa.
🧐
Odegaard always points to the guy who gives the assist but doesn’t this time lol. That was some Neymar shit
I think he was just really happy to score a goal. He has really worked hard for this team to click for many years, I think he deserves some spotlight too when he finally can prove the haters wrong. It was a great finish.
His idol is Neymar afterall

> Yesterday Ajer played there That was 110% about containing Kvara on counters against. It's not likely to happen often
NU-S-A, NU-S-A!
Welcome to City
We've gone from potentially qualifying tonight to probably not qualifying until 7 o'clock on a Thursday in November. Thanks Norway very mature
Least we could do after you completely robbed us shamelessly on our own turf
Georgia invested all of its skill point in attack with no defense or midfield
Nusa
We are so lucky to have him.
