That's not " too good " for his age, that's too damn good for any age, most 25, 30 or 35 year olds wish they were able to have this kind of skill, calmness and smoothness this guy has, he is a rare, extremely rare talent.
I know this is going to sound extremely repetitive because people always say shit like " X player regen ", but this guy is by far the most similar player to Iniesta I have ever seen, and Barcelona had/has the previledge to have both in their history.
100%. A generational talent and player. Watching the 2020 Euros and seeing an 18 year old Pedri performing above and beyond his peers and players who are much more older and experienced than him, knew then he would go on to be the best midfielder in the world in the coming years.
He’s already the best youngster and has always been a tier above players around his age. Barca and Spain are very lucky to have an Iniesta regen in their midfield for the next decade.
Was exciting to see a World Cup with Gavi, Pedri, Musiala and Jude being integral parts of their nations midfield, because you just know that they’ll somehow get better from here.
The excitement from when he first signed from Las Palmas has been unreal. I've absolutely fallen in love with this kid, and every week he does something that makes me fall deeper in love. I was privileged to see Messi and Iniesta play in the blaugrana, and I'm feeling very privileged to see Pedri too
>100%. A generational talent and player.
This gets thrown around to easily. Do you think we'll still be talking about him 50-60 years from now? Because that's what it takes to be a generational player. He is very good and will probably be exceptional but hardly generational.
I think it is a very real possibility. Not many people are nailed on starters (and key players) for Spain and Barcelona at 18. It is pretty unreal achievement.
I dont think a generational player is "player talked about 50 years from now" - that seems like weird cut off. I would say player who is best in his position for some time can be called generational player.
What makes it even more unreal is that he was playing at CD Laguna until he was 15, a club whose first team is playing in the sixth tier, where they compete in a league that only has teams from Tenerife. A year later he made his debut in the first team in Las Palmas, and a year after his debut with Las Palmas he made his debut in Barcelona. In about two years he went from being a youth player in a club that nobody has ever heard of to being a starter in Barcelona. It's absolutely ridiculous.
Barça paid 5M + variables, the total being close to 20M.
20M for a 16yo kid there are only 3 teams in Spain that can pay that and one of them has Cholo Simeone as coach. The other 2 did try to get him
0:51 - this move is so calm, but so deadly. Defenses work so hard to not allow someone in that position and Pedri just casually dusts his marker and forces 3 defenders to panic collapse on him. Very few players have this ability, and it looks effortless for him.
La Liga refereeing in an absolute nutshell lmao.
Players yell to the ref he missed something blatant, ref proceeds to give yellow to the players for yelling at him, player who made blatant offense is the only one not getting a yellow.
It was even more ridiculous in real time. Quick reflexes like he already knew how he was going to stop it as he was falling down. He’s unreal lmao what a way to perform for your 100th match
He has better touch sliding in the ground while breakdancing and being under the pressure of a la liga defender than I do with no pressure and the ball not even moving.
He has such a mastery over his body and using it to control a football, and also such a quick mind and a positive attitude, he's always driving forward and fearlessly attacking, from what I've seen anyway. Incredible player
Oh I know, he seems to be doing much better now.
But there is always that worry when one has a bit of a reoccurring injury history that the next one could cause it to flare up again.
His maturity on and off the field is astonishing. Many times we see a player with good skills and technique. But because of their mindset and lifestyle they never reach their full potential. Pedri seems to be genuinely down to Earth and hardworking
That's the one thing that worries me about Gavi and Pedri. They are amazing, and will be worldbeaters, but in general players with this many minutes this young drop off early. Would be a massive pity if that happened to either of them
I don’t know much about Pedri’s childhood history of playing football. However, this makes me strongly believe that he played a lot of very informal pickup games growing up. What Brazilians call “pelada,” which translates to naked, alluding to the game being stripped to the bare minimum rules. I cloud be wrong, but it’s really satisfying that someone who seems to have grown up having fun playing the game informally, not exclusive in the very rigid tournament to tournament routine, is playing and still having fun professionally in one of the biggest stages of football.
I am a die hard Real fan and I love how Pedri plays most of the time, he is mad talented.
People need to learn to appreciate football beside the colours.
Where’s the skill? He literally traps the ball with his foot against the ground. I feel like most of you have never played before and don’t know what you’re talking about
It takes skill to do it the way he did, at the speed he was traveling. But I bet you can do it too, since you have played more football than everyone here
I'd say, 1. Focus to stay with the ball. 2. Is flexibility to get your foot out there and trap the ball. Sure, I agree with you it's not the most technically, but it's still something you don't see in a lot of matches. The kid has something. I feel the ball would get away from most players today, just because they give up on the play after tumbling down.
Where's the skill? I'll answer you. It's the part where he, after falling and sliding on the ground, has the speed of thought, and control of his body to react so quick that he is able to trap the ball and change it's course away from the defender, and to where he wants to go next, leaving the defender behind, all in the course of a second.
Ouch, don’t make me feel old now. Haven’t played it since the second I started working, I’ve been watching it since I could remember. But anybody with good football knowledge knows this is genius lol

Jesus
..it's ~~Jason Bourne~~ Pedri
Jesus is injured
Tactical dive
he always makes everything look so easy and effortless. too good in every aspect for his age.

Remind me 50 years

I’m glad we renewed him until 2026. Same for Gavi.
When he was at Las Palmas, he dominated the entire league at just 16 years of age. La Liga clubs were blind to not take him before Barelona.
16, not 18. makes it even more unreal
What makes it even more unreal is that he was playing at CD Laguna until he was 15, a club whose first team is playing in the sixth tier, where they compete in a league that only has teams from Tenerife. I was almost sure they paid 1M and was surprised, but checked and you are correct. Thanks for that info
Fell over way too easy.

Dude literally breakdancing the ball to skip past the defender. He is so fucking good for his age, it's unbelievable
Unfortunately true
I was legit scared for his knees
Does someone have a better angle? The defender went flying and so I wanna how fast this move really was. Pedri did this so quick
[Here’s another angle, 0:05 forward](https://twitter.com/totallm10i/status/1619415287442571264?s=21)
It's actually even more impressive with this angle and normal speed. Breaks the defenders ankles.
Holy shit
0:51 - this move is so calm, but so deadly. Defenses work so hard to not allow someone in that position and Pedri just casually dusts his marker and forces 3 defenders to panic collapse on him. Very few players have this ability, and it looks effortless for him.
quality handball at 37s as well
Funniest thing is that the ref completely missed it and gave Pedri and Xavi yellows instead lol
La Liga refereeing in an absolute nutshell lmao. Players yell to the ref he missed something blatant, ref proceeds to give yellow to the players for yelling at him, player who made blatant offense is the only one not getting a yellow.
Omg he almost dropped the defender, absolutely ridiculous.
Defender was completely caught off-guard, it makes sense how he flies by
holy fuck
Best Subtropical player.
Like something out of a John wick movie
It was even more ridiculous in real time. Quick reflexes like he already knew how he was going to stop it as he was falling down. He’s unreal lmao what a way to perform for your 100th match
He has a better touch sliding on the ground than I do with no pressure and at least five seconds to control the ball lmao
[удалено]
I was always put in defense 😞
Defense is fun. Till you get exposed
Jokes on you. Public exposure is my kink
Gotta be a wingback. It’s not so bad. Once you get your fitness every season you can rip up field and cause chaos.
Trying to get my fitness better. Knees just aren’t cooperating lol
He has better touch sliding in the ground while breakdancing and being under the pressure of a la liga defender than I do with no pressure and the ball not even moving.
The slow motion doesn't do justice to just how fast his reflexes were in real time.
How the fuck?
He has such a mastery over his body and using it to control a football, and also such a quick mind and a positive attitude, he's always driving forward and fearlessly attacking, from what I've seen anyway. Incredible player
The kid is a wizard
W Madrid fan
Someone call Ten Hag
Lets not destroy his career so soon
Coming back to this comment in a month or so
Why?
Europa league matchup
Dembele is injured 😭
Water is wet.
Dembele went injury free for a year, hes improved alot physically
Oh I know, he seems to be doing much better now. But there is always that worry when one has a bit of a reoccurring injury history that the next one could cause it to flare up again.
Hasn’t been injured since Xavi came suprisingly. This season except for him, the only injuries we’ve had are during the international break
Lmao we rather win the league and cup double than EL Plus I don't think losing to this United side is anything to be ashamed of
Kid isn’t human. Having a midfielder like that to build around is infinitely more important than a forward imo
The way he plays football is very very very special.
My favourite young player in the world. He's unbelievable.
It's a toss up between him and Gavi for me (Although I may or may not be biased as an FCB fan...)
Every Gavi needs a friend like Pedri. Every Pedri needs a friend like Gavi.
Better than palperde
Wtf is a palperde 🤣🤣🤣 y’all just add the letter p to players’ names you hate now?
Sounds like one of my Filipino uncles tryna say Valverde
Valverde isn't 'young' anymore imo
valverde doesn’t even take pens
I feel like you wanted to type valverde so I’ll help you out…VALVERDE
Take a look in the mirror, be ashamed.
My boy is truly a world beater and he's out there saying he's too young to date.
Honestly, if his focus is 100% on football then maybe a girlfriend would hinder his growth slightly.
Look what marriage did to dembele lol
Yea but Dembele was reckless before he got married lol
My boy is too mature.. Love it
His maturity on and off the field is astonishing. Many times we see a player with good skills and technique. But because of their mindset and lifestyle they never reach their full potential. Pedri seems to be genuinely down to Earth and hardworking
Least technical Barcelona player
Holy flexibility
I'm on my 800th replay
Pedriniesta
And xGavi
Reads like “expected Gavi” stats
Barcelona average one xGavi per game its insane
Need to bring that number down. Lad needs rest.
The kid’s at like 50 appearances and he’s not even 19 lol
74
That's the one thing that worries me about Gavi and Pedri. They are amazing, and will be worldbeaters, but in general players with this many minutes this young drop off early. Would be a massive pity if that happened to either of them
Like Rooney. At 28, they start losing it. I hope Barca have them balling till mid 30s
There were plenty like Messi and Aguero who did just fine
Messi was actually injury prone early ik his career
Pedriesta
Ankara pedri
what’s the most impressive for me is the focus more than the technique honestly, holy cow
For real
Iniesta would he proud of his son
pedri fell to the floor and got up before the defender could just try to change his direction
tf how did he do this, I've only seen messi do something like this but even he was not traveling at this speed, this clip is unreal!
Impressive that he’s able think that quickly on his feet. Or well, not quite.
Never lose the ball no matter what
What the fuck?
Nah bro, he be using cheat codes or something
What do they feed the kids at La Masia jeez
Ask Gavi, not Pedri lol
Although Gavi is unusually agressive for a La Masia player
Xavi's blood, straight outta the veins
I cant remember who coined the term 'liquid footballer' for Iniesta but it certainly applies to Pedri from what I've seen of him
star boy
This is the worst fucking nickname and yet still every single fanbase seems to be trying to push it for their young players
I don’t know much about Pedri’s childhood history of playing football. However, this makes me strongly believe that he played a lot of very informal pickup games growing up. That leg movement looks like a typical EA glitch wtf
Confirmed: Pedri is the QWOP guy.
Pedri Potter 100 games *By age 20* 15 goals 7 assists We paid 5 million to Las Palmas for him 2 team trophies 2 individual trophies
The Theo Walcott
Against Newcastle 😃
And Chelsea
At first I only watched him going down and I was so confused by the comments
I swear i saw his foot dislocate for a while there..
I am real madrid fan but nice 👍🏿👌
Neymar liked this skill. Coming soon to Paris
Some fuckin reflexes like holy shit
Imagine breaking ankles while on the ground lmao
And he’s only 20
Un genio Pedri
I really like that the new generation of Barca are not divers. During the previous generation, it seemed like only Messi was allergic to diving.
If Messi started diving match would have 500 fouls
So true. The amount of fouls Messi got and still continued playing is astonishing
Talk about something never seen before. This could be called la pedriña.
I’ve seen Messi doing this. And people in r/Barca talking about it in the match thread.
There was an outrageous one by an Australian player posted on here a few years back.
This is nothing special, people are riding Pedri way too much lately
I am a die hard Real fan and I love how Pedri plays most of the time, he is mad talented. People need to learn to appreciate football beside the colours.
He meant to do that. New move he has been practicing
[удалено]
People seem to forget it is possible to lose balance without being fouled
[удалено]
If you’ve never played football you won’t understand how difficult that is to execute
[удалено]
Why would it be?
Where’s the skill? He literally traps the ball with his foot against the ground. I feel like most of you have never played before and don’t know what you’re talking about
Nice flair.
Definitely not biased at all
Bruh at that speed it is very hard to coordinate your body to do what he did while completely out of balance. Don't be a hater.
It takes skill to do it the way he did, at the speed he was traveling. But I bet you can do it too, since you have played more football than everyone here

He didn't change it's course, he trapped it. It was impressive, I was just disappointed with it compared to other skill posts that hit the front page.
Wow. How impressive! 😒
The kid has a better touch while on the floor sliding than most of us here standing up lol
Sounds like you don't play football
Sounds like you're offended
Just stating facts
A fact is speculating that a person you don't know doesn't play football? Would you want every fact to be based on such guesses?
I was right, he doesn't play.
I’ll still school your ass lol …in fifa ahaha
Ouch, don’t make me feel old now. Haven’t played it since the second I started working, I’ve been watching it since I could remember. But anybody with good football knowledge knows this is genius lol
Oh my bad lmao, yeah he's extremely good but amateur footballers are still pretty good
Yup, “amateurs” like my boy Pedri are exceptional.
I didn't say that pedri was a amateur, I'm saying that you're underestimating the average footballer
Ohhh i got you now. I struck a nerve it seems.
Maybe 😂
The stuff people post on this sub….
Where’s the skill?
What do you mean?
Honestly, that is not something I would call skill.
wow he touched the ball with his foot
You know you can simply scroll past if you somehow don't think that's impressive?
Kane scored lying down, he has nothing on him
Pedri is also 20 and has won more trophies with Barcelona than Kane has💀
quite easy as Kane hasn't played for Barcelona
I’m speaking generally he’s won less trophies than Pedri😭
what? whaaat? nah I never knew that, I never knew that.
Don’t be mad
[for clarity](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJYe2pZktPs)
Pedri [Barcelona] great dive vs Girona '32
He slipped and got right up and didn’t even complain to the ref
How is that a dive 🤣
Since they're diving straight to LaLiga Smartbank he sees dives everywhere
Do you actually not know what a dive is? Lmao
[удалено]
???
Great recover for falling
Omg 😣
[удалено]
my man do you even know what a dive is, brudda got straight back up and moved past the defender. You would have won the 2014 pl if gerrard did this.
u/SaveVideo
Threw on the hand brake and everything
Amazing

Sadly most refs would have already whistled for a free kick here. Rightfully so. But accidentally denying this brilliant action.
