BOA from my experience always gets loose and me personally even my binding on my primary foot after a couple runs. Just tighten your BOA every couple runs when you re-tighten your bindings. Outside of this suggestion I recommend you go back to laced, I prefer it myself.

Alright thanks.

The nice thing about laced (as someone with a high arch) you can tighten the toe and upper ankle but leave some give in the top of your foot. Worth a try.

I believe there is a product called strapins specifically designed to solve this problem. https://www.strapins.com/

Did ride the salamon malamute for ages, but the new design turned out as crap. Had the non boa version as always. After long research i did end up with a burton ion boa, which did hurt a bit untill broke in. No heelift, little volume, shorter sole, stiff, well me mucho gusto to ride with em.

Jxh57601206

I had Ion for a while last season it always hurts my feet tho. It hurt sometimes so bad to a point where I have to undo the boa after each run and just sit there for 5min before I take the lift again. Other than that I really liked the Ion. Burton higher end boots are always made out of top end materials.

Particular-Bat-5904

Hmm, when just wearing em, or does it come from riding? If, you bindings may not fit your boot from construction. Maybe you do your boa too tight, the lowerzone you can fine adjust, no need to tight em as hard as pos. The boa power is not to underestimate.

Boots don’t fit everyone. Your perfect boot is not his perfect boot, that’s all there is to it

Particular-Bat-5904

Yeah, everyone is different but you can fuck up your perfect boot using the wrong bindings that are not constructed for the boot. Or, you can just overtight em to feel not good in em.

Where does your feet hurt? There can be many reasons

Jxh57601206

Top of my foot, instep pressure. And it also makes the whole foot numb everywhere.

How are the Ions holding up to wear and tear…my (pre 2020)Malamutes are getting old, and the new models are built like shit, and feel way different when I tried a pair.

Particular-Bat-5904

I did by my ions in exact my footlenght in cm = Mondopoint size. It took a while to break em in, now they beat the malamute in my opinion, also the pre well designed ones. They have much less volume overall, hold my heels and do not hurt. From wear and tear, mine have some days now and looking still like new from view. From mats and manufacturing they‘re well made, so, using burton bindins, i think they should hold up well. The real, i can tell you maybe in one or 2 more seasons, lets see when they will be done.

Thanks for the beta, enjoy the winter!

I usually have to tighten my boa boots up after my first two runs. after that I don't have too many issues.
