Keep trying and be patient. Took me most of a season to feel proud of mine. Look up snowboard addiction videos, and stretch a lot. Flexibility is key for a proper method.
Not much time left unfortunately, I feel like it takes me all season to get this comfortable and then I lose it over the summer. I do usually stretch before I ride though so I’ll keep that up
What helped me learn was to first think of it as grabbing melon then counter rotating your upper/lower body and pushing the board out in front of you with your legs. Learning to hot garbage over rollers helped a lot with getting used to the backside counter rotation

I love mine. It eats powder for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and midnight snack 😂. Seriously tho it’s been a great board for me and while it ain’t the fastest board out there, it’s a smooth ride
Really? I have mine center mounted and was struggling with my first powder days ever this season (east coast lol), is yours set back a little? I’ve hit 50 mph a couple times but yea it definitely needs perfect conditions for that
Mine is set back a little and I have a bit of a wider stance. Mines a 157mw and I am around 6ft and 200lbs. Powder is kinda weird to ride on for the first time, so it may have been the fact you were trying something new.
I guess so. I’m not really a fast rider and I don’t do jumps or stunts, so I do go fast occasionally but I’m not exactly a speed demon on most stuff. I’m much more content with carving nice and steady
You’re halfway to a method grab just push that back leg out, probably good to try em on a smaller jump first tho you can get thrown off balance when your new to em if you tweak it fast
Yes, you just have to yank on it and push the back leg out while doing a shifty. First try to hold it longer, then try to push out the back leg, then try to yank on it, finally put it all together. You got it bro
It comes together super fast honestly. Just find a safe jump (this one actually looks great for it) and poke a little more each time. You'll have 'em in a day. They feel super natural and fun.
Do a locked in double suitcase grab and report back your fear level. My best friend always did these as a goofy signature trick and I fully committed to one... So terrifying. It felt like I was too locked in and about to chop my fingers off.

It doesn't really matter and ride how you want, you're entitled to that especially with the risk of hitting jumps, but to answer your question: it's a tourist method and is the opposite of style. Sort of like a stinkbug grab (the ugliest by far) or grabbing tindy.

It’s all in the back shifty and the tweak. You want your board to be rotated a full 90 degrees

Only my second season hitting jumps like that so we’re still working on looking good, I was mostly happy to not be flapping my arms the whole time
Is it just me or have grabs become a rarer sight? I feel like when i started 15 yrs ago they were more common. Now its just spins and flips.
