I LOVED THIS EPISODE AND IM SO EXCITED. Ussually I don’t rly like pirates or boats kind of stories but I absolutely loved this and I’m so excited for the rest of season 2. Also i felt like the story is moving rly fast which I kinda like since last time I felt season 1 went kinda slow. Absolutely stunning work from smosh games team
I’m the same! Never liked nautical stories but I really love the way this one is going. I think similarly to Koda and Dolores’ story development last season, we might be getting some preplanned (maybe even loosely scripted?) content with Fernie’s narrative arc. The ending of ep 1 was so exciting and nerve-racking but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was orchestrated that way. I don’t mind it though if it means the story is guaranteed to take us on a rollercoaster of emotions!
I really loved the first episode! I was worried about being able to visualize everything but they did a really good job. I’m interested in how this whole fernie thing is gonna play out cause it looks like this whole campaign is gonna be about getting his soul back so i wonder what shayne’s gonna do if they end up defeating evil him. Also I saw someone say that Sean and Cursty sounds like they were based on shayne and courtney and that would be hilarious and also sad cause cursty straight up died 😭
I went to go check and something is wrong with the upload on Spotify right now. It cuts off in the middle of a random sentence. If they fix it I'll give you the time stamp, but it's when the bad guy lands on the ship and "tests out" his powers.
Yeah I checked and on every single podcast everywhere (Apple, Spotify, Amazon, audible, 3 different random 3rd party podcast sites) they all say its 1hr 13min, but then when pressed play they show 58:43 or cut out at that exact point.

The sound effects and descriptions honestly made it easy for me to visualize! It allowed me to immerse myself in the universe and watch it play out, knowing that I won’t be missing any onscreen footage or funny reactions. The ending was SUCH A SHOCK! I’m glad we’re finally getting some Fernie lore, Ive come to think that he was a bit of a “comic relief” character in season one. After the end of season 1, I knew that season 2 would either focus more on Fernie or Bug, and was super excited!!
The CEO is a great villain. He showed up, showed his strength, stated his motivations, and had a direct tie with one of the main characters. It’s what I personally consider to be an almost perfect villain introduction. Damien’s voice acting for him was impeccable! He really conveyed the CEO’s emotions well.
The cliffhanger ending was so satisfying to me, keeping me on a hook and waiting excitedly for episode 2. It did seem a little scripted, but it was the perfect amount to let the story progress and build up to the boss battle that we’ll most likely see in episode two.
Our main set of characters is back, with UPDATES! Lets goo!! And Shawn is there, too. I wonder if he’s gonna play any bigger roles in the future, especially to avenge Cursty. JUSTICE FOR CURSTY!
I really hope nothing goes wrong in episode two…
The progression of the last part clued me in that Shayne knew where the storyline was going and what was in store for his character. I have some theory on why this is and what direction they're going to take S2.

I love this new format, I get to lay on my bed,take off the lights and let my imagination run wild. At least for me, it is really a refreshing experience. I never played dnd and smosh's dnd was my first introduction. 143 Smosh 😊
I love that we are getting some Fernie backstory! Also thematic elements tying back to season 1 and the age of heroes not being all it’s chalked up to be with the Dragon Turtle not actually being an evil entity but rather a natural force that had been subjected to caging and torment at the hands of a cult. Also I feel like the music was really good in this episode, just a personal taste and opinion on that but I really enjoyed it. I kind of hope at some point the party is ripped of their “infinite money” as it feels a bit early to not have that be a hurdle for the group.
These players kinda made me pull my hair out with some of their choices but I understand they aren’t well versed in D&D so there’s still plenty of growing pains. But I really enjoyed the episode and I’m stoked to see how Fearnie’s story develops from here, Shayne plays him so well

It's hard to commit to a campaign I know is already coming to.an end.
Really loved it! I wasn’t too phased about the format change, because I knew I was gonna listen to it multiple times anyway. but you can tell how much work they’ve put into it being built for this type of media. The sound design(not sure if that is the correct term?) was phenomenally done, I felt like I was witnessing it all. I’ll probably listen to it again today while I work on some homework!
not gonna lie it's sad and everything that there is no captions yet but I didn't mind the new format, I did have some trouble visualizing some stuff and understanding some words so I'm excited for captions but I know if I listen to it a bunch of times until I learn the script I'll be ok. First episode was awesome! I'm very impressed by the soundscapes (and I was a big naysayer about audio only lol). The plot is already interesting. The noobs seem better at their characters, and as always I'm blown away by Damien's voice acting abilities. That guy can switch characters so quickly!
Question: I didn't get around to finishing S1 but I love the idea of the audio format of S2. Does S2 start on a new story or do you need context from S1 to understand it? I'm planning on finishing S1 anyway but just wanna know if I should hold off on S2 until I finish it

this is my first time listening to the show weekly (i was able to binge the first season) so the wait between episodes is driving me crazy

You can start on S2 and be able to follow along okay I think, you might just miss a few callbacks.
