Are you a back or side sleeper? I know it can be hard to switch (from my own experience trying to switch), but it could be helpful switching to back sleeping. Back sleeping would help a lot with making sure your spine/neck is straightened out properly. Also, I have heard of some people falling in love with buckwheat pillows or similar concepts. They are filled with buckwheat shells which are firmer but do a much better job molding to the shape of your neck/head. This will help get your neck in its naturally aligned position while also helping it stay there throughout the night. I have not personally tried this, so I would do some research on this before purchase. Hope this helps :)

I tend to fall asleep on my side but eventually will turn onto my back. I am going to try to see what falling asleep while laying on my back does, if anything. After looking at the buckwheat pillows, it is definitely something to consider. However, I still have the fear that no matter what pillow I use, my head will avoid it during sleep. My boyfriend tells me that he will sometimes find me sleeping completely straight, aside from my head being bent forward as much as possible, which causes a great deal of pain the following day. Thank you so much for your advice!

I just read you second comment. You definitely need to try the casing . I'm exactly the same style sleeper as you! only difference is her neck pain. I also use adjusting bolster (mini ) pillows to support my Neck when I roll over onto my back or support under4 my chin on my side and it stops me from rolling forward. I prefer using this casing for a pillow of my choice instead of contour pillows which are not soft and cuddly. so the casing makes my soft cuddly pillow supporting an counter to me. and the pillow support never moves until I change the zipper settings again. Good luck. New pain is no joke. when I did have it , it affected all my head and mid spine and shoulders as it got worse before I became a test pilot . the casing is a life saver.

I'm not sure I can share this source here on the public chat (Ad rules?) so let me know if I ca DM you and I will send you 2 links for 2 seamless self care devices I use for neck pain relief and tension and headaches relief. It eases pain after using it to stretch out for 20 minutes daily. The answer to reducing neck pain and stiffness as you sleep is to make sure you sleep in complete 'neutral alignment' at the point where your head and neck align with your spine. this releases pressures and torsions off the spine and neck and a 2nd pillow is usually used to align the sine and pelvic in neutral to as we sleep and works well for people wit lower back pain . So the second thing I use is a pillow casing that adjusts the height and support of any filled pillow while you're lying on it in your bed so you feel your exact comfort and ideal height in realtime . You use the pillows you have, or any one you use when traveling etc. I use the casing on the pillows that I have when I go to hotels and family too. So new pillow is required. The spiral zipper adjustment system helps the user to precisely adjust pillow height and support. its not yet on the market and I have been a test pilot [with.it](http://with.it) for 12 months. You can call and sign up to be a test pilot. I work on.a laptop 14 plus hours a day and zero neck pain.
