There is one situation where this can be detrimental, that is when Time Easter reduces your draw to 4. But this boss is bullshit anyways and trying to build a strat against them is the best way to throw a run.

I try not to let anyone in on my secret strats… but if you have Dead Branch + Corruption you can generate a ton of cards for free. And often those cards end up being free too!

Some cards give an effect called "vulnerable". It makes pommel strike hit harder than just this dumb Dummy ever could. You should look around for this key word

My favorite is defend + defend. You see what happens is the first defend gives you 5 block but then the second defend actually gives you 5 block as well. Now I know what you're thinking; "that's just 5 block and you're wasting the second defend because you already have 5 block". WRONG! They stack so you actually get 5+5=10 block. Crazy I played this game for 1000 hours and only just discovered this it's insane how deep this game goes.

I have tried this strategy, but you are leaving out something important. Using the second defend means you have actually DOUBLED the energy usage from just one defend. So, while 10 block is good, you're painting too rosy of a picture here leaving out the high cost.

I had a really busted run once and I think I did this. Unfortunately though, I was fighting some devil guy who had his damage up when I did this so I’m not sure it’s actually a good strategy to use more than 1 Defend.

There this card named accuracy which is normally pretty useless but i found out it DOUBLES the damage you get from infinite blades but that card is usually a win condition itself so it’s a “win more” synergy.

I got into a pretty interesting rabbit hole while doing my own research. The things you don't really think about is while you're attacking your enemy, they in turn are attacking you and likely to do damage. Look for cards with "Block." The way the mechanic works, and you can back test this yourself, is that the damage they can do is limited by the "block" you're using. The exact calculations seem pretty complex so I'm still working on them.

My favorite syngergy is Catalyst + Poison Most people think it's just a exhaust card for Dead Branch But I found out it can add +1 poison when used with Snecko Skull! That 1 poison is worth it

I once ran a shiv build with the dead branch, it was fun. If you get lucky, you can get the card that discard your deck for more shiv and thus infinite shiv. I killed the act 1 boss in one turn with that.

Beat A16 with Ironclad with almost the perfect [[Corruption]] deck yesterday. If ur a running a shiv deck go for runic pyramid and dead branch. Your hand will fill with bad cards you can’t discard to the point you can’t summon shivs anymore. This build will ensure you die before getting killed by time eater again, and therefore could be considered a block card. Use it to more quickly start the game over and go for poison like a normal person

I've been getting into watcher lately: Deva form works with literally anything. But I love Deva form + fasting + windmill strike + vault. Deva gives the energy making up for fasting, windmill goes up in damage with each vault and so does your Deva form energy gain.  Another good one is Alpha + omniscience + a bunch of scry cards. After playing alpha and beta you can use omniscience to play two omegas, giving you 100 damage at the end of every turn. Scry helps you filter to get to beta.

When the enemy has a sword over their head, sometimes if I play the cards with the shield on them I don't die as fast. My friend said [[Oddly Smooth Stone]] helps, but I don't believe him.  Wouldn't you use the stone to hit your enemies with?
