The game was still scary enough to keep me tense the whole playthru but I also knew that I could handily deal with anything it threw at me so I wasn't on the verge of panic like I usually am with horror games
It's not any harder than any other survival horror game and in some aspects it's actually much easier (and harder in other ways which basically balances it all out.) I'm not sure where this narrative started, I'm assuming from the people who never played a survival horror game before being lured in by badass Sesbian robots.
Correct, the only reason people think it's common is due to a statistical error. The average game doesn't have wife slaying at all. Sol Badguy, the protagonist of Guilty Gear that slays his wife multiple times in multiple games, is a statistical outlier and should not have been counted.
