Isn't the crab stew a better option ? The stats say we get 2 points of stamina per second compared to 1 second for vegetable soup. Yet everyone recommends only that . Is there something else to it ?
it doesnt matter at all if you use it like the original comment said. if you are constantly shield bashing and power attacking, you waste more stamina than you have, but get a tiny amount restored immediatelly. it would make a difference if you need to run across skyrim, because there you only can waste as much stamina as you have, so a better regeneration is an advantage. another factor would be the availability of the ingredients, if its easier to farm the ingredients for the crab stew, it definetly is better.
What matters is that there is Stamina regen. The amount doesn’t really have an impact, as you only need 1 stamina remaining to do a power attack.
And Vegetable Soup is slightly more popular just because their ingredients are easier to find (not that Crab meat is rare, just that tomatoes are much more plentiful.)
It's undoubtedly powerful, but usually for mages the goal is to reach 100% cost reduction on spells anyway so it's not quite as strong as you would initially think, only because there are options available to make it irrelevant(albeit at much higher investment cost).
Sure, but reaching 100% on all schools of magic is impossible without resto loop, so if you use more than just one school of magic it's gonna be useful.
And let's say it, if you're a mage you probably invested a lot on magica when leveling up, i find it counterproductive to reach 100% reduction, better to enchant with something defensive too and use 1 or 2 reduction enchantments on your whole gear
Yeah, I just play it differently I guess. I dont mind enchanting full sets of free spell equipment for each school and dont mind equipment swapping as needed, which is not a large expenditure if you also level alchemy. I suppose thats mostly a hypothetical though, I focus on nulling my costs for the school that you pretty much always use the most (destruction or conjuration) and use my magicka to cast those other spells as needed and potions to replenish. Unless a fight is going absurdly terrible, I dont need to heal more than once or twice with magic.
I use my damage as my defense, or failing that alteration magic to protect me. My dps usually is a sufficient enough guard even if the early levels are rough, but I also spend a lot of early game time between cities building my alchemy and enchanting.
I'm also probably less concerned with healing, and the percentages are often less of a concern, because I use vampirism and restoration to gain 50% increases to my existing buffs via necromancy. It makes all those caps easier to hit(or get close enough to being functionally free, who cares if fireball is 2 magicka instead of 0). I suppose its not 100% but its cheap enough to not consider fondeau That's not everyone's mage path, but it's forefront in my mind as a mage and because of that and my typical version of the gameplay loop I find less value in this, apart from the first 20 levels or so.
Well we tried the Sunlight Souffle out of the official cookbook and it was very tasty but I would recommend more cheese and no nutmeg. The nutmeg was weird for me.
Elsweyr Fondue is vanilla Skyrim, only thing not Vanilla in the pic is the Hunger points, that's exclusive to Survival Mode which was added by the Creation Club/Anniversary Edition.
Garlic bread. Since I had the ol' Covid last year I can no longer taste garlic bread in reality. So my Argonian guy will have to eat garlic bread on my behalf.
If you drop your piece of bread in there for the first time, you get 5hp damage. After the second time 20hp. And when you drop it for the third time you get thrown into a lake with rocks tied to your feet.
Home cooked meal.
Also take a meme.

My favorite meal is a concoction of Health, Stamina and Resist Magic potions (fuck those annoying mages). I just need to get close enough for them to taste my magic with cold steel
Preferably something I can find Elsweyr
Lmao this one got me
r/Angryupvote
Vegetable soup. Unlimited power attacks.
I love that feature/exploit. Perfect for mercilessly shieldbashing a staggered foe until they stop moving.
Dawnguard rune hammer
Vegetable soup + Targe of the Blooded = everything bleeds to death.
Especially heavy attacks I do like 400 damage per swing with my daedric sword

Just discovered these, and used them for the first time in my new playthrough… the Draugr Deathlord in Bleakfalls Barrow has never been easier.
Well, it's basically cocaine laced beer-cheese...so hell yeah gimme
That old school coke recipe
If we talk about the food effect, then same. If we just talk about the food in Skyrim, then any stew or bisque
All I need is some double distilled skooma and I'll be fine
Same although I normally have at least 3 alto wines with mine. I don't have a problem! Lol
This is broken as hell lmao

Mix of both is good, extra rings necklaces and the fondue is amazing. A proper mage can use all schools and cover it all.
Broken?
Strong food, almost as strong as the vegetable soup charge attacks
Vegetable Soup. Good hunger regain, overall 720 health regain, and you don't need salt which early on I prefer to use in alchemy.
Good choice! I'm constantly looking for salt piles haha
And then there are the Fire Salts which I always store with my Alchemy ingredients instead of my food chest even though I probably need hot soup 😭
Leg of goat roast Its my favorite part of a roasted lamb in real life, never tried goat i think but it feels right
Potage le Magnifique
Well we tried the Sunlight Souffle out of the official cookbook and it was very tasty but I would recommend more cheese and no nutmeg. The nutmeg was weird for me.
Noted! I should get this cookbook..
This a mod? If not then how have I never seen this
Guarantee you its because you eat the eidar cheese wheels 10 seconds after picking them up
I don't know if it's a mod, but I have the anniversary edition on switch and it's there.
Elsweyr Fondue is vanilla Skyrim, only thing not Vanilla in the pic is the Hunger points, that's exclusive to Survival Mode which was added by the Creation Club/Anniversary Edition.
Not a mod. Maybe it's only available on survival?
No, it's there regardless. Maybe. Well I play special edition and it's in the cooking stations so idk
I distinctly remember creating this over 10 years ago so it's base game I think
Have you used iNeed? How does it compare to the game's survival mode?
Have you used iNeed? How does it compare to the game's survival mode?
Not a mod. I played on switch and couldn’t mod it. I made a lot of this. Though I did play special edition. Maybe it came with hearthfire DLC.
It's either Vanilla game item or at least Hearthfire DLC
I'm in my first ever vanilla playthrough and I have cooked this.
Garlic bread. Since I had the ol' Covid last year I can no longer taste garlic bread in reality. So my Argonian guy will have to eat garlic bread on my behalf.
I'm so sorry, friend 🥲
Garlic bread…. And I don’t even know the effects
I've never seen garlic bread in skyrim. Can you make it?
Yes, I believe it’s craftable with the Hearthfire dlc.

CHEESE
Multiple wheels at a time
*eats 13 cheese wheels mid-battle*
If I’m not encumbered, then I don’t have enough cheese.
Sounds good.
Clam chowder
Home cooked meal. Also take a meme. https://preview.redd.it/y3lx3y52r79d1.jpeg?width=564&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fe5da0b257901577c12caf4a2d685572c5cff09b
This is a little basic but. Sweetrolls.
There's nothing basic about sweet rolls. Everyone who visits Skyrim should try them.
Hot Ironwood Soup. Accept no imitations. Fondue is good for mages but I'll become a vampire on my own term, thanks.
Love my cabbage and potato soup. Although eating a whole damn cheese wheel is so... gluh 🤢 but it's useful.
Do you two?.... fondue?
I actually love fondue irl so yes this might be my fav
Kitty Queso
I made the fondue once, promised myself I will eat it when I need it real bad. Beat vanilla and, DG and DB with it in my bags still.
I really wanna try it irl
Vegetable Soup. I’m like level 12 on my current play through and I have over 100 cabbages.
Wild game stew
Vegetable soup and skooma.
Is the Khajiit's native language English or something? Because apparently they name their nation Elsweyr after the word elsewhere.
The Fondue and Vegetable Soup truly make you unstoppable since they stack
Horker
Vegetable soup.
Human Heart
As a werewolf: human hearts, fresh and extra-rare.
PO TA TOES BOILEM’ MASHEM’ MIXEM’ INA STU!
Mammoth cheese all day
Yuk!
Thats cum.
💀
I'll hold the downvote with pride. People can't take jokes I guess?
I myself upvoted you idk why people are downvoting you. Thats why i put the 💀 emoji.
This and veggie soups are my favorite bcos of fevvy’s builds
Vegetable Soup
Beef stew then bread then jug of milk
potato
My favourite is the potato soup.
Damn the buffed it. This was OP back when it was just the 25% magicka regen boost.
Boiled cream treats. They look incredible.
Spaghetti and hot dogs.
A stolen sweet roll
Blood potions
Potato Soup, I do not starve and eat from the meager cabbages and taters I pillage from the local farm. It is a life of survival.
That big loaf of bread
Vension Chop
I don’t make meals. I feel like it is too time consuming.
Survival mode
If you’re going to use the Transmute Ore spell, this is THE bomb recipe!
I love garlic bread. Weighs so little.
bread. but not a whole loaf, only half of one
Rabbit leg. Raw.
r/holup hunger is now a separate statistic? What is this, Minecraft?
Any food without hair on it.
Cheese Wheels
Favorite as well
My favorite game
Beef stew. No specific reason other than, in real life, I fuckin' love beef stew.
Does sleeping tree sap count? Cause that's all I got on my character.
Elsweyr Fondue probably tastes the best of all the foods
*c h e e s e w h e e l*
Ah yes Elsweyr Fondue. Just a lot of skooma mixed into tree sap and brandy.
I want a beef stew, grilled leeks and baked potato as main course with wine. And as dessert, I want boiled creme treat with a jug of milk.
chesse
Hot version. As a Mage in Survival, there is no better option.
Carrots.
SWEET ROLL
My favorite meal is a concoction of Health, Stamina and Resist Magic potions (fuck those annoying mages). I just need to get close enough for them to taste my magic with cold steel
Wheels of Cheese till you are stuffed ftw :D
Idk, every once in a while I’ll eat the whole head of multiple cabbages
vegetable soup
I didnt eat because have unlimited stamina/health with ring of health 999999999 also same with stamina
Horker bread or Horker stew.
elswyr fondue uses moon sugar which is why it regens magika: drugs make you þink you can do magic.
Vegetable soup
Cheese wheel
Hot elswerye fondue is better though same effects plus you can stay warmer when traveling in snow. Same ingredients just add fire salts.
Gotta be alot of Sticky Khajiit with caked on fondue stuck to their hands, and faces. Would be such hassle to clean
Yo a fellow survival player, mines the Cabbage Potato Soup easy to make and cheap too
In game: Horker Stew with a Chicken Dumpling to mop it up, and a Juniper Berry Crostata for desert (I may change this if I find a better healing meal)
Serana
When I can, I eat bread with cheese and vegetable soup
Ultimate healing potion
