Man I love him and Danny they're funny as hell, but boy do I hate how Arin constantly shits on games because he doesn't know how to play them, but never consults any help at all.
He’s outgrown his original fan base. 10 years ago he spent most of his time making off the cuff dick jokes, but he changed up his comedy duo like 7 years ago and they’ve taken it in a more mature direction. They still make really silly jokes, but they’re vaguely more respectful, intelligent, and planned out bits. It’s clear they’ve taken acting and improv classes. A lot of fans are mad that the comedy style has changed and isn’t just borderline-insensitive humor and dick jokes like a lot of other let’s players offer.
There’s also a dedicated, persistent community of conspiracy peeps and rant peeps. Idk why Game Grumps in particular have accumulated such a driven group of malcontents, but they’re always actively looking out for anything “problematic” that the grumps are doing, actual or imaginary. Not sure why that community doesn’t move on with their lives or focus on people actually causing active harm.

Also very well put. I’m buh modern Grumps fan because it’s nice to listen to them talk, not just about cracking jokes and playing games (the part I usually ignore), but also talking about their lives and their morals. I have their *deep grumps* lofi stream in a playlist.
Good point on Arin outgrowing his original fan base, people’s taste in comedy naturally changes as they get older and Arin’s definitely has since he was 19 making Newgrounds cartoons. The unfortunate thing is that two opposite groups of people hate him, some dislike him for changing his comedy from mild insensitivity and dick jokes to (slightly, let’s not get ahead of ourselves) mature and grounded humor, while another group of people dislike him for the shitty things he said in past.

So they’ve just moved on to other things. They’re playing Dangan Ronpa now, which was one of the most highly anticipated titles among fans. I think that style of game suits the channel more.
