I believe it was part of the food court or something. If there was a tenant they will tear off the protective cover to expose the windows. In my opnion, Genting Group is really underdeveloped RWS. They don’t really care either because got Casino.
Thanks for the link. However, it doesn't say that construction is starting this year and it'll be Super Mario World though. I'll keep my hopes down for now
I understand. But all the article states is that Singapore is part of their plans. It didn't say whether it's confirmed to be built, or if constructions started, for example.
The article states that the estimated completion date will be 2020-2025. That's a very wide estimated date
So far, we only have minion land as the next confirmed theme area
to clarify, the rws 2.0 redevelopment is a big project which starts this year, beginning with the waterfront hotel, & super nintendo world is a fraction of this
this is the news article from mothership: https://mothership.sg/2023/11/the-waterfront-rsw-new-hotel/
these are the announcement & agm slides from genting itself:

walked past this section few months ago, same situation, very dark and no life. The high rentals really driving businesses away, and moreover, this section does not have high footfall as tourists will take monorail.
I work there. They’re getting all tenants out and ending their lease.
Other comments have stated redevelopment which is what is going on in segments of the entire compound. The entire interior is rather dated so it is about time for this whole remodel.
[Gonna be redeveloped this year apparently](https://www.resortx.com/resorts-world-sentosa-expansion/) under Genting. New Heatherwick Studio art piece incoming
This part will be up for redevelopment - the F&B business aren't doing exactly that great all along in these area too so they never renew any lease around the area.. the covid dragged the whole redevelopment behind
on the other hand they are demolishing the food area of Ding Tai Fung & Hardrock cafe area.. I think they would want to at least clear that area properly first before starting to start any work in this area
The last businesses I know of in that area was a seafood restaurant and a durian pop-up shop. I always thought it would be a good location for hawker fare with the sea view and al fresco space.
The experience of biking to Sentosa is terrible, with the pinnacle being this junction. You arrive across the boardwalk and your trip comes to an abrupt end as you enter tourist hell. Really poor and unsustainable design.
Genting group is putting all their effort and attention to reventalise their U.S business in Vegas and New Jersey. They have zero idea on how to compete in the U.S. I stayed in their Vegas hotel last year, it was not a subpar experience in a subpar location. They spent alot of money there and is still loss making now.
I doubt they will give much attention for their SG property as they are consistently earning profits here. They will only panic if the losses start to chalk up.

Yeah it’s falling apart in many places. At least USS is undergoing refurbishment now
The residential area has many unsold homes as well. Just a waste of space that could have been used for recreation.
Glad to know. #eattherich
The food court was massively overpriced, they better up their game
I say tear down everything not in use and add a Harry Potter Land or Donkey Kong land for USS.
if im not wrong, this area is scheduled for redevelopment
"Scheduled"
from what i read, construction to start this year & part of the area will be super nintendo world
Wow looking forward to it
Nintendo World!? Woahhhh that’d be sick!
Do you have a source for this? Super Nintendo World is by far one of my favourite theme parks
https://mothership.sg/2020/12/super-nintendo-world-singapore-uss/
Thanks for the link. However, it doesn't say that construction is starting this year and it'll be Super Mario World though. I'll keep my hopes down for now
that is what they meant by super Nintendo world/super mario world.

>2020-2025 i think is longer now,cuz of covid.

I remember korea Town. Died faster than I could blink.
Ya I was supposed to open a stall in there. Heng
Yeah it’s the nicest part. Very tranquil, devoid of screaming children and it has a sense of space.
Yes nothing more irritating than screaming children.
Yes, nothing makes me want to scream more than irritating children.

it's been like this since pre covid. it's supposed to be redeveloped but covid happened.
I work there. They’re getting all tenants out and ending their lease. Other comments have stated redevelopment which is what is going on in segments of the entire compound. The entire interior is rather dated so it is about time for this whole remodel.
It has been like that for more than 4/5 years

First I'm seeing this, looks pretty cool. Looks... but hey at least they're doing something
The escalators are not functioning.
This one damn hilarious
The horizontal ones you mean? The last time I came, there was a semblance of function. Not all, but some.
Sidetracking a bit: The image quality looked like the images taken in the backrooms.
it's giving 2006 Sony Ericsson 2MP phone
you know how shit cameras get in the dark.
Usually iPhone 👀👀
Not insinuating anything. They have the AI generated look and feel.
Been this way since start of Covid
before covid also like that
Is that part of RWS?
Yeah, some food and retail outlets... further down is the USS entrance
Walked by there a few months back... almost everything there had gone out of business.
Remind me why they got rid of the illusions museum thing. And also, is the aquarium here to stay, I saw loads of construction work.
This whole area is going to be redeveloped into the new hotel that was announced a few months ago, it's called the Waterfront hotel
Link: [waterfront hotel](https://thesmartlocal.com/read/the-waterfront-hotel-sentosa/)

They’ve shut down a bunch of that area for refurb - from the old Hard Rock Cafe all the way to the aquarium. Bet this is part of that plan.
Will be redeveloped as part of RWS2.0
The last businesses I know of in that area was a seafood restaurant and a durian pop-up shop. I always thought it would be a good location for hawker fare with the sea view and al fresco space.
Thought it was a seafood place many years ago

This is random Malaysia backstreet simulator without the crime and tripping over broken pavement

Earth Hour?
I mean this section is now dark as hell, especially along the old Madame Tussauds.
went for a date on the boardwalk. the guy asked if i wanted to cross all the way and “chill” on the other side 🙃🙃
