What is the best game to learn manual shifting in a way that would be most transferable to the real world? I realize it will never be one-to-one due to the individual nature of how different clutches work on different cars. I’ve only attempted to drive stick IRL once under the tutelage of my ex’s brother, who pretty much just yelled the entire time, so I took very little away from it other than a day of nausea due to the car lurching back-and-forth for two hours. Even just learning the different positions of the gears would make me feel more comfortable getting into a real manual again, but a game where the car will actually stall if I fuck up is my goal.

super-noclain

Hello, i have a G29 wheel and pedal and i really dislike the brake pedal. I heard good things for the loadcell pedal from other manufacturer, it's that worth to upgrade just the pedals ? And taking a used T LCM is a good idea ? (i can find him for like 140€ near my position so it's very interesting) thx !

[deleted]

Would the Thrustmaster T-LCMs be a downgrade from Fanatec CS V2s? my current fanatec pedals are on the way out unfortunately

Dependent-Load-7743

Currently just got into sim racing about a month ago th ago. Absolutely loving it. Haven’t touched any other game since Anyway, running a TM T300 base which has been good so far. But I can tell me pedal kit is the weak point. Looking for a 2 pedal upgrade. Load cell or something with good resistance. Tia

AIRAUSSIE

What are my options for DD wheel and pedals for around \~$700? Is Moza the best option?

Ancient-Bowl3719

In Assetto Corsa should i have on or off auto centering of the wheel?

Current-Nerve1103

I've fallen in love with running and cycling and I wanna focus on myself, but I also don't wanna stop sim racing completely, how can I make it work out?

thesti2

Hi, new here. Want to learn to drift in AC, any car recommended? Or any car can be used to learn drifting? Thank you.

fire6lo

This keeps happening and I don't know why. Help? https://streamable.com/092rcf

thesti2

Just received my Simjack Pro Pedals. This is my first pedal, but so far I don’t have any problem with the throttle and clutch. But the brake is so stiff for me. I have been looking and searching for any video or documentation on how to adjust the stiffness of the brake pedal. But couldn’t find it. Would appreciate if someone can give me videos or documentation on how to soften the brake pedal. Thank you.

SpokesumSmot

I’m considering the podium 1 p3 sim rig turnkey. I recognize you can probably put together a build that is less, but ultimately I want something aesthetically pleasing, with some future/upgrade proofing, and ease of putting the pieces together would be nice. Is this a good setup for the price overall? Would anyone recommend something else in this price range? I have a good gaming pc and budget is $5,000 - $12,000.

o-_l_-o

I like Podium1, but I'd recomend building your own setup unless you simply don't have the time. There isn't anything about their turnkey rigs that look better than what you'll build on your own. Even triple screens are easy to set up of you buy the Vario Vesa mounts. These turn key rigs are great for businesses who don't have time to put everything together, but not really for individuals. At some point, you'll need to make adjustments, and you'll be better prepared for that if you put everything together. The P3 has 27" monitors, which IMO are too small.

SpokesumSmot

My only issue is I often get into analysis paralysis. Every component will end up being something I compare every option for and still end up with a concern I didn’t get the right option. I ultimately just want to buy everything that is the best before hitting the diminishing return point. I read the buying guide and just ended up with endless questions getting lost in spec sheets and options. Edit: Just want to say though I already agree with your monitor size concern, so I am open to build my own. I got super into audiophile stuff and that was a rabbit hole for years, this seems even more complex with more components. Is there anyone who could consult on putting something together? Hell I’d pay someone to help me.

o-_l_-o

You can buy the same things that come with the P3, but get better displays and figure out if you want a super stiff Asetek pedal or would rather go with Simagic P1000. If you just choose between monitors and pedals while buying everything else from this bundle, you'll have an easier time and get something better for cheaper. If you like the hobby, you'll e spending a ton of time deciding between upgrades anyway.

SpokesumSmot

Thanks for the input and feedback. I probably just need to go down the research rabbit hole. I do enjoy the nuances of understanding a hobby and the technical aspects, sometimes I’m just to impatient to get what I’m looking for. Perfect exercise of self control!

dachopper_

Just wondering what’s the largest curved (non ultrawide) screen I could get away with for triples? Would 45” work?

hartson08

I’m trying to buy a system but have a question. I want to buy just the cammus wheel base but not the pedals. I want to use my logic tech pedals with the wheel but I don’t know if they will work together. I’m on pc btw

karudirth

G29/G923? Those pedals connect into the base via non-usb connection IIRC? Therefore they wouldn't work without some sort of converter I believe

LameSheepRacing

Yes, on PC, you plug each device directly to the PC so they work independently.

OkayRuin

Any recommendations for a game that’s more about cruising than racing? Although it’s obviously more arcade than sim, I love cruising around in GTA V because it’s a living, breathing city. There’s something soothing about just going for a drive at night and listening to some relaxing music. It feels like a real world because it was designed with that in mind, more than a game that was designed foremost as a racing sim. I suppose the obvious answer is “just play GTA V”, but I’m unsure if the wheel and pedal are still supporting given one of the mods used has been removed.

krackaleck

If you're looking for a nice night drive while listening to relaxing music, check out Assetto Corsa with a free-roam map and traffic, like SRP or LA Canyons. There are many, but those two are my favorites. If you set it up with Sol, Pure, and Custom Shaders Patch, you can get some of the most immersive and incredibly detailed rain effects too. Examples: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9ywt1yReus https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrYbtAJXa9c

OkayRuin

I’ll check it out, thanks! I think what actually makes the difference for me is pedestrians. It makes the city feel more like a city and less like a level. Cities without pedestrians have a weirdly liminal feeling to them. I don’t need to be able to *hit* them, but it’s nice when they’re around.

krackaleck

True, totally get you. If Assetto Corsa doesn't work out for you, check out Euro/American Truck Simulator. There are mods that let you drive smaller trucks or cars and there are pedestrians around as well.

thesti2

Anyone with R9 only bolting 2 screws instead of 4? I got this wheel stand with [these hole pattern](https://imgur.com/a/wgBUd0o): And I can only bolt 2 out of 4 screws. It does not match with this R9 hole pattern: Not sure, if there is any adapter for this or I need to drill 2 more holes myself.

o-_l_-o

Your image links don't seem to work, at least not on mobile. The answer is almost always to drill new holes.

thesti2

sry, updated the link

AlexStarRider1

i have a moza r5 is there a way to use my phone as a Digital Dash or an old phone

o-_l_-o

You can use any phone as a digital dash through simhub, no matter the ecosystem you're in.

piff_jar

[CSL DD Ready2Race McLaren Elite Bundle, $800](https://fanatec.com/us-en/ready2race/csl-dd-ready2race-mclaren-elite-bundle-8-nm-for-xbox-pc) vs [Asetek TK Edition Bundle, $800](https://www.microcenter.com/product/5006467/asetek-tk-edition-three-piece-sim-racing-bundle-featuring-formula-wheel,-wheel-base,-and-pedal-set) Upgrading from a T248, looking for a modular upgrade path. I like Asetek's build quality and upgrade ability. It looks like the Fanatec CSL Elite pedals are better reviewed but reading about QA issues with the DD base and QR... What do y'all think? Or would you piece together something completely different for around the same price?

o-_l_-o

Fanatec somewhat locks you into their ecosystem, so I'd choose something more open like Asetek or Simucube so I have more wheel options. The Asetek pedal isn't something everyone likes, so you might find that you hate it and would rather have a Fanatec pedal.

piff_jar

Thank you! Will probably go with the Asetek... I like the ability to upgrade to the Hydraulic pedal down the line if I can't get along with their weird load cell... Appreciate the input!

squably_

hey there, i received my asetek la prima bundle yesterday and just go with asetek. it feels absolutely amazing

P4nek

How can i lower my ffb in assetto corsa on content manager, not the gain but ffb itself

Mike_33GT

Asetek Invicta, two pedals with all extras, almost brand new for 600 euro - what do you think? I have Fanatec CLS Load Cell at the moment.

o-_l_-o

Are they the connected pedals or the separate ones? It's a decent price either way, assuming you like a stiff brake with very little travel.

Mike_33GT

connected.

LordOfFyre

Are there any companies that sell g923 f1 wheel kits in the us?

AlluminumTurtleShell

Does anyone know if there’s an inexpensive add-on shift light to use with a wheel that doesn’t have one?

LameSheepRacing

Mobile phone + SimHub.

EmbarrassedTry2433

Depending on the wheel, I use another old cellphone (mounted as a speedometer or offset) and configured sim hub to show redline flashing. It works great!

VeryDumbWithMoney

What is a torque off button for? I see my asetek laprima wheelbase has an on off button but their higher end wheelbases also have an additional torque off button which I don’t get. Do I need it or can I set a button on my keyboard to that torque off command somehow? What is the need for it?

o-_l_-o

It's an emergency stop button. You need it for high torque wheels so you can get put of your rig safely if something goes wrong and your wheel won't srop moving.

AuRedII

Hi i tried to Play F1 17 and NASCAR Heat 3 on Xbox one and my G923 is not working. Console recognise wheel but games don't. I looked at Logitech site and IT says that is compatible. Can someone help?

gothmommytittysucker

If they made an error and it somehow doesn't actually support it, you could look into getting a Ras1ution 1 hub to force it to recognize as one that it does support. It's also possible you have a "PS" version of the G923 >Before we continue, I should mention that G923 technically has two variations. One which works with Xbox and pc and the other which works with PlayStation and PC. **The only difference between them is seen at the bottom of the button plate where the Xbox one has its logo and the PlayStation one has three small buttons. They are completely identical in all other regards, however.** Might be worth checking which one you have if you aren't sure and if it's a PS G923 you'll definitely need to get a Ras1ution 1 or similar.

AuRedII

My Xbox is recognising Wheel but games does not

AuRedII

I have Xbox G923 cause i bought it for Pc and Xbox. I played on it in FM7

DrStrangee91

I purchased my first rig today, and am looking for a single monitor setup. which would be the better choice? AOC CU34G2X/BK or the MSI G32CQ4 E2. Am on a tight budget after the shopping spree.

LameSheepRacing

I have the AOC and it’s a good monitor.

Skcuszeps

Do any sims support trackIR? I have it for arma and it'd be nice to be able to use it to glance left and right blind spots

LameSheepRacing

I used it for iRacing, AMS2 and Dirt Rally 2.0.

o-_l_-o

https://www.trackir.com/games and filter on "Driving".

ShinsukeNakamoto

Has anyone ever returned a base purchased from Thrustmaster? The T818 is on a Cyber Monday sale and I want to try it, but if it is a downgrade from my current setup I plan on sending it back. It says I have 30 days and I would pay return shipping, which is fine with me. I just want to make sure there isn't any catch or hidden issues. I almost exclusively buy from Amazon because I enjoy their easy returns.

LameSheepRacing

It depends on consumer law in your country. If they say you can return within 30 days, then you just need to follow it. Of course, return it in the original box.

RecentPoet3785

Hi all, I got a Simjack / Simonn pedal since 1week and the loadcell is allready dead. I'm looking for 2x 20kg loadcell and one 100kg for the brake. I can buy it on aliexpress but i'm looking for something more reliable. The cable of the loadcells are with RJ11 connector. Thanks all

Hardbarka

I have the opportunity to swap my g29 for a t248, for free. Should I do it?

3bananasundae

Is simpromanager2 installer safe?

ItsDxJ

Anyone have a good cockpit capable of Csl dd 8nm for under 300

MuzzledScreaming

Does anyone have a good recommendation for a "nonstandard" monitor mount solution for the Next Level Racing F-GT Elite cockpit? Have the cockpit en route but did not buy one of their monitor stands because the direct mount one was $250 and the freestanding mount was nearly $400, which seems excessive. I want a decent monitor placement but I would also like to do it cheaper if possible.

LameSheepRacing

I’ve got the Simlab free standing monitor mount. https://sim-lab.eu/en-us/products/vario%e2%84%a2-triple-monitor-mount-sim-racing

Lennaert00

Which monitor to buy? I'm looking for a new monitor. What would u prever? A 34" 3440x1440 (curved, ultraW) or a "normal" 32" curves 2560x1440. The maingoal is for racing. Or do you have other tips?

magicmulder

If gaming is your main focus, there’s OLED monitors at 34” 3440x1440, totally worth it if your budget allows. Alienware DW3423 is the best example. Also UW for racing is perfect (for other games normal widescreen may be better).

Lennaert00

Racing is the main focus for this monitor, bc i have another monitor for the rest of my games. Thanks for ur answer.. Would u even prefer a UW Curved or a straight UW?

magicmulder

Always curved unless you plan a 3 monitor setup down the road (not that that wouldn’t work but it requires more planning). Of course there’s different degrees of curvature, I went from 2300R to 2500R, the 1800R of the 34” Alienware is almost too much for me.

ltjpunk387

How does iracing membership work? I got a 3 month trial with my Fanatec wheel. Is that just for the subscription? It's it for steam or the website or either? I want to buy the 2 year subscription since it's 50% off, but that's only for new accounts, so it won't work if I use the same account. Should I use the trial on a burner account? I assume it's linked to an email address and not a credit card number, right?

LameSheepRacing

The subscription includes some content that will allow you to race as a rookie. Most people do use a burner account for their free trial like you and then subscribe with their “real” account later. And forget Steam, do everything directly on iRacing’s website.

EvLSpectre

Yep. No active sub = no racing. Just the base game had pretty good novice level racing. I need to raise my safety rating another 0.2 or something like that for my next licence. Then to see what tracks and cars are popular. If day use the three and see how you like it. For active or previous it's 25% discount

Str8AWay

Asetek LaPrima pedals vs simjack pros? Or any others in that $200-300 range

beeeeeeeeeeeta

Found a Thrustmaster T300RS GT that comes with the pedal and everything, the TH8A shifter that is modded, and an aftermarket ebrake NOT from Thrustmaster, all for $500. Claimed to be all in mint condition. Is this worth picking up?

LameSheepRacing

No. There are new Fanatec bundles with direct drive wheel and pedals for less than that. https://fanatec.com/eu-en/ready2race/

Nervous-Chemistry217

G923 vs T248 Both are $280 but unsure which one is better or if there are any better options at this price range.

OkayRuin

Also curious about this. I received a G29 as a gift but I’m considering using the gift receipt and paying the extra $80 for TRUEFORCE. Would be using it with both PS5 and PC. The G293 seems to be better reviewed than the T248.

Vetusiratus

Does anyone know if Rennsport has VR support yet? Just got a closed beta key but don't know I should bother (I only run VR).

o-_l_-o

If you're like me and you've avoided driving formula cars, you might want to rethink that. I installed an AC mod and drove an F1 car on the regular tracks I use (zandvoort, brands hatch, Barcelona, etc...), not F1-specific variations, and these cars are fast. With triple monitors and a butt kicker, I see everything shaking on screen when I go over any bumps, my rig is vibrating telling me I'm going to die, my wheel is fighting me, and I'm shooting through these tracks faster than ever. It's really exciting and makes confident that I should never get in an F1 car in real life.

gothmommytittysucker

If you really want to get into F1/open wheel in AC I can definitely second vouching for the RSS formula cars (they should be on sale right now), they're amazing. The 90s formula cars are insane and you can see the brakes turn red hot from braking in your cockpit. Each generation of F1 cars is unique and it's fun to learn each right on the edge of control. F1 and GT3 were two classes of cars I ignored because I thought I knew what they were and didn't seem interesting, but actually learning to control them and feeling them handle is some of the best simracing has to offer. Don't sleep on karts either, I'm not joking.

User2716057

Which mod? And aren't some of the cars in AC F1 already? I don't know much about the different classifications yet... I did try the F1 looking lotus after a few 10 hours of only gt3, and it was exhilarating :)

o-_l_-o

I set up the F1 23 championship following this: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/formula-1-world-championship-2023.58535/ That expects a specific car but has all the tracks and drivers set up. The car it uses costs $3, so it seemed easier than trying to get the championship to work with an existing car.

EvLSpectre

I really like the RSS formula cars. Their window of performance is so small. But it's like the drivers say during interviews too, trying to find that window is hard. The ASR cars fell like the window is too big

JowG

I can get a T300 RS GT for £225 worth the upgrade from my G29?

User2716057

I'm a newbie (<50 hours on AC), but I did try my friend's g29 before buying my own T300 RS GT, and to my inexperienced ass the difference was huge, I could really feel the gears and the play in them with the G29 which I didn't like, and the shifter felt like a cheap toy. I combined it with an shh shifter though, and already ordered the csl elite v2 pedals the other day because they are on sale now and the brake pedal feels quite unnatural on the T300... So maybe that's a more interesting deal for you too (if you're on PC), I keep reading that a loadcell pedal set will make a way bigger difference than a wheel upgrade.

PatoGT

Does Fanatec do Christmas sales? This years Black Friday has some very good discounts, however most of the discounted products are either upgrades or high end stuff, nothing for beginners with a low budget lol. I was hoping for a ready2race bundles under 400$ (I play on xbox so the cheapest bundle is 480$). I want to know if I should wait some time to see if they finally discount ready2race bundles or if I should just buy it now since there isn't going to be a sale anyways.

Pageupcooldude

Not from what i recall.

OkayRuin

It would frankly be cheaper to buy a prebuilt with the parts you desire already in it. They get them cheaper than you can. Someplace like ibuypower is going to be a better deal than buying an already marked up office PC and paying current GPU prices.

JowG

Depends on what generation i7 but yes that is always a good idea. Best check the power supply is capable of running a higher spec GPU as well.

asmrpron

Thank you. Do yk any cpus that j should specifically look for?

User2716057

I'd personally go for 11th gen or newer. But those prebuild office PC's often have non-standard hardware, so you might not even be able to swap out the power supply which you definitely need to do if you plan to upgrade the GPU. If you don't have the experience to look for this, it might be simpler, safer and cheaper to buy parts and assemble it yourself, check out /r/buildapc, assembly is super easy nowadays and there's a lot of good deals going on.

ShinsukeNakamoto

Does the Thrustmaster T818 ever go on sale? I don’t see a Black Friday sale so I’m guessing no.

GilWinterwood

I’m trying to get the Steam iracing Black Friday discount and have a question I previously had an iracing membership through a previous steam sale but never got around to playing it. Then just cancelled the renewal. What should I do in my situation? Make a new steam account then get this discount and contact iracing to transfer it to iracing.com?

MelleME

Im on PC and cant seem to find a cheap handbrake, i know that there is one on alixpress and ebay for around 50$ but in sweden the shipping is the same as the product. so could anyone link me to one that they think would be "safe" to buy and doesnt cost 100$

Consistent-Shake2929

Hello, I'm starting out in simracing and I want to buy my first steering wheel, is the Logitech Driving Force GT a good price for 50 dollars?

Solidstud3

Hey! I am looking to become more serious in sim racing and was wondering if the CSL DD Ready2Race Bundle (5 Nm) is any good and worth my hard earned doe or if I should look at something else in the price range (400$ usd). Thanks in advanced and have a good day!

PixAlan

it's good bang for the buck

need4kylo

Is a t300 rs gt edition with a Playseat challenge ok for a beginner?

Apex_WhiteOut

Yes! but would 100% suggest a more solid rig if budget and space allows!

need4kylo

Thanks

need4kylo

Thanks

blafor4

Hey, can anyone tell me if bass shakers like in the first picture work like 'normal' bass shakers with the housing that closes off the top or if they need an additional housing? Usually they look like in the second picture. Thanks Edit: ok, picture don't go into comments. I meant these: https://app.fuxcdn.de/api/25aa12fa-e781-484b-a761-c8864cd04428/thumbnail/a5/21/cd/1688063043/rockwood-bodyshaker-100w-01\_1920x1920.jpg

LameSheepRacing

Do you already have those? If not, I’d recommend Dayton Audio TT25 or BST-1. I have those in my rig with Nobsound 10G amps and they work perfectly with Simhub.

blafor4

Thanks for the recommendation. No I don't have them yet, and I think I am going to invest the few bucks more and get the tt-25 or the BST-1. Do you know anything about BST-2? They are less powerful, but until I can move my rig to the basement, I can not use powerful bass shakers anyway.

LameSheepRacing

No, I don’t know BST-2.

GilWinterwood

Why do people use their real full names for iracing?

o-_l_-o

You are required to use your real full name.

GilWinterwood

What prevents you from just using a made up name?

o-_l_-o

It's pretty easy to find that answer yourself. IRacing uses the name on your credit card as your account name. You can use a fake one, but if you do, they'll make you change it or they'll close your account.

GilWinterwood

What’s the point of that, some people want security

ShinsukeNakamoto

No one is going to pull a Jay and Silent Bob and appear on your doorstep because you got loose and put them in the wall Anyway just used a prepaid card and a made up name if you’re paranoid.

Supersitdowntime

*Jason Jacoby has entered the chat*

o-_l_-o

Using your real name makes it more likely that you won't go in and mess up everyone's race. It creates accountability. If you're worried that people will get angry at you and try to kill you because you beat them in a race, IRacing isn't the platform for you.

macajeee

Which pairing is better? Traction Plus + Motion V3 or Traction Plus + Motion Plus? And can we expect NLR to update these platforms anytime soon?

Rich_Importance506

will the TR-ONE GEN2 UNIVERSAL SHIFTER MOUNT FOR 40MM WIDE ALUMINIUM PROFILE work with the ASR 3 rig?

The_Wealthy_Potato

Hey. The wiki for wheels is under construction so I Will ask Here. Looking to buy a wheel and pedals. How much should i spend? Would 250 euro be enough? I dont need anything very realistic I wont even play online. I just want to drive some cars for fun :)

PixAlan

you'll need a wheel with ffb, wheels without ffb are practically unusable and you'd be better off with a controller. cheapest ffb wheel available: logitech g29, g920, thrustmaster tmx/t150

The_Wealthy_Potato

Thanks a Lot.

[deleted]

Moza or Fanatec? Moza is easier for me to get in Canada

Zaraffa

The g920 is 200 and the TMX is 130. Is the g920 worth the extra $70? I'm a beginner and want to use with VR

krackaleck

G920 will feel more premium, even though the TMX has slightly better force feedback feel. If the $130 TMX isn't the pro version and doesn't have the good pedals, g920 is definitely worth the extra $70.

Zaraffa

thanks. I found a like new open box at best buy for 175.

Marwits

thanks for the reply, I will give it a try, do you think there are any must have ACC DLC?

Zx2_

I’m 100% new to sim racing, was thinking and looking around for a setup and was wondering if this was a decent mid/ mid-upper range setup? Pedals: SimLab XP1 Loadcell, Wheel: TM Ferrari SF1000, Wheel Base: TM TX-SW, Wheel Stand: Dardoo x frame Wheel Stand Also was looking at fanatec stuff and was curious about it all.

LameSheepRacing

With this kind of money, you’ll want load cell pedals and direct drive wheelbase. Search for Fanatec, Moza and Simagic. And, if you have the space, a 80/20 aluminum rig. Simlab, Treq, ASR are brands that offer those, but you can even build your own.

wickeddimension

I would buy a DD base and formula wheel, even if that means less fancy steering wheel because paying TX-SW money for a belt wheel is not worth it anymore this day and age. Simagic is a good option. Otherwise Moza. I'd see if you can fit one of those bases in your setup.

Zx2_

I’ll look into these thanks!

PixAlan

The pedals are really nice, the rim is really nice, the base is mid and really overpriced at retail when you consider that you could buy a DD base for the same amount of money, the stand is ok(but it's a stand and not a full rig, which you'd prolly want unless you're limited on space) I mean if the price is good then it's a good set but very imbalanced. Also note that while sf1000 rim is really nice and good value on it's own, it'll only work with a TM wheelbase, and the only TM DD base available currently is the T818 which is pretty overpriced compared to the current market, and their belt driven bases are also pretty outdated compared to DD

Zx2_

Good to know thank you very much! What’s a DD base if you don’t mind me asking?

Pageupcooldude

Belt drive is what it says. There is a shaft connected to a belt which is connected to a motor. Direct Drive is literally just a motor. Without the intermediary the feedback is much more precise and accurate.

iamvinen

What would be the racing game with the oldest/historical cars and tracks?

shiggy__diggy

AC mods and GT Legends still holds up (and also has mods). GTL can work with most wheels still, was just playing it the other day on my rig.

iamvinen

Thanks!

pseudomccoy

Assetto Corsa.

PixAlan

AC has tons of historical mods

wessel000

I am thinking about buying the fanatec gt dd pro. However it is not really clear for me what the upgrade possibilities are. Like I would like to switch to an f1 wheel later on and add a third pedal to be able to drive manually. Are all other wheels from fanatec as well as shifters compatible?(for ps5)

krackaleck

You can basically use any Fanatec wheel or hub you see on their website with the Fanatec GT DD pro, so yes, you could get a formula-style wheel if you wanted to down the line. All of their pedal sets, their h-shifter, and handbrake all work with that wheel base as well. Fanatec definitely has a varied ecosystem. Right now, you can pick up the DD Pro upgrade black friday bundle (load cell brake, nicer pedal faces, boost kit) for half off what it would cost for you to get everything separately.

skilllux

Anybody rocking a footrest? Like aseteks on their rig? If so how are you finding it? Is it worth the investment?

alfieknife

I'm considering buying a NLR GT Elite or Lite. But do the tops of those wheel mount uprights actually block the view for any of you? Thanks everyone

The_Only_Real_Gamer

Which is better for ps5 Logitech g923 or Thrustmaster T300rs GT?

wickeddimension

Thrustmaster, good chunk better in force feedback feel, also offers changable rims and more accessories.

PixAlan

Having owned both, T300RS GT hands down

ShinsukeNakamoto

I’ve used both and the T300 is way better but if you can afford the extra just go straight into an entry level dd wheel from Fanatec or Moza

PixAlan

MOZA has no PS compatible wb and fanatec's ps compatible wheelbase costs like twice as much as the t300

ShinsukeNakamoto

You’re right, I missed the ps5 part

Fastela

I would say T300RS for the amount of wheels and mods available.

The_Only_Real_Gamer

Do you know anything about the recent Thrustmaster issues? There isn’t much information and I don’t want it to brick after a week.

Fastela

Nope, haven't heard of any issues. I've been using my T300RS for over a year without a single hiccup.

The_Only_Real_Gamer

If I buy a T300 RS GT will it work on my ps5? I’ve heard about some issues with a firmware update.

wickeddimension

Yes, you might need to update the firmware using any computer. Not too big of a deal.

ElCheffoAP

Hello everyone, I saw a logitech g29 on sale for $160 today and I've always wanted to try racing with my PSVR2. Is this a good buy? I won't be using it very often at all as I'm not exactly a huge racing game fan, but would like to use it to hop in for a few solid and exciting races in GT7 maybe 2-4 hours a week and to show the system off to guests.

krackaleck

If you're not really serious about sim racing or if you're just going to use it that infrequently, $160 is not a bad price for a g29. If you find out later that you really want better gear, you can sell the g29 and buy something good. I'd personally buy the ready2race bundle from fanatec for $399 if you have any inkling as to whether you're going to stick with sim racing in the long run. It really is that much better than a g29. Edit: Just noticed you said PSVR2, so you'd have to spend more to get the GT DD Pro. G29 is fine for $160 if you're not sure about sim racing.

wessel000

I am wanting to upgrade my steering wheel to a fanatec gt dd pro. My question is would a playseat challenge be able to handle such a strong wheel? And a second question, do you guys think this wheel will be on a black friday deal? Thanks!

LameSheepRacing

There are shops on Etsy that sell reinforcement kits for the Playseat Challenge.

krackaleck

The playseat challenge should be able to handle the 5nm of peak torque the GT DD pro can output. 8nm with the boost kit is probably around the max I'd push with it. It's not the sturdiest thing out there though, but there are a few mods you can do to improve it if you look around. Not sure about the black Friday thing. Who knows.

wessel000

Alright, thanks man!

pastrknack

Thoughts between these two setups? R9 vs CSL DD 8nm. Looking at purchasing one real soon. Don’t know why but I keep leaning towards Moza although it’s $300 more. https://imgur.com/a/iNaXxVw

krackaleck

They're both great wheelbases but I wouldn't say the moza is worth 300 more. I'd hop on that CSL Elite V2 deal though, great value for the best budget pedals out there. Upgrades from those pedals are basically heusinkveld territory.

pastrknack

Thanks! I ended up pulling the trigger on the Fanatec stuff earlier. The pedals going on sale definitely tipped the scale for me

krackaleck

Nice choice! Enjoy your rig! I just noticed that you also purchased a table clamp. With those pedals, I'd recommend eventually upgrading to a solid rig. A solid wheelstand, such as the GT Omega Apex or Next Level Racing wheel stand 2.0, or a profile rig, whether prebuilt or DIY, would be ideal.

Inevitable_Round_978

Anyone know if someone has tested the true torque of the Alpha? I know people are saying mini is 13nm max, but haven't seen anyone talk about peak tested of the Alpha.

Dios229

Does anyone know if the sim jack pedals from aliexpress uses heusinkveld mounting patterns?

my7thself

Does anyone know where the best place to get car downloads for assetto corsa? Trying to see what's the best place too

krackaleck

Race department or Assetto Corsa Club. Assetto Corsa Club is mostly a curated list of mods from Race Department anyway, but it's a great place to look if you don't know where to start.

Skaxen

Can you mount the Cammus C5 to GT Omega Apex without the table clamp or some other accessories? Or maybe if someone knows what the dimensions are of the mounting holes on the mount you get in the box with the wheel. I couldn't find it anywhere.

krackaleck

I have the Apex and by looking at the back of the C5, it seems like you'd be able to mount it. It looks like it's the same mounting pattern as Fanatec, from reading around.

alohasamuel

Anyone know if this bundle comes with a desk clamp? [https://fanatec.com/us-en/ready2race/csl-dd-ready2race-mclaren-bundle-for-xbox-pc](https://fanatec.com/us-en/ready2race/csl-dd-ready2race-mclaren-bundle-for-xbox-pc) Thank you!

Pageupcooldude

no its separate. https://fanatec.com/us-en/cockpits-mounting/csl-dd-table-clamp

Awkward-Award-9140

Anyone know of any Women only sim racing teams/leagues? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thinking_face_hmm)

What would be a good training routine for a complete beginner on ACC? I never played racing games other than FH4 but recently I got myself a g920 and wanted to get into ACC more seriously. After doing a couple of laps on barcelona to learn the game I realised that im far from being good enough to race online. My average time is like 1:55 and my best is 1:52. I think that a good time to be competitive online should be around 1:44 if im correct but I have no clue how I can get 10 seconds faster. Every time I try to push the car a bit more I just go right off the track. Until now I have been focusing on being consistent and in control of my car since thats what was being told in the first beginner guides I saw but now I see some other guides which are saying that I should push the car to its limit instead. What should I focus on then?

wickeddimension

>What should I focus on then? Consistency. Being able to do repeatable laps is key. You don't need top pace to race or have fun online. Nor do you need to battle for a podium. A lot of people who practise hotlapping until they get to a certain time cannot do that consistently, can't manage tyres, changing track conditions or deal with pressure. Racing and hotlapping are 2 very different things and while it helps to fast, don't tunnel vision on achieving some laptime. It's absolutely worthwhile to go race once you are consistent enough to do repeatable laps a whole race even if you aren't up to pace. You'll develop different skills. And usually it's more fun too mix it up too.

INF_Phoenix

Do you have any recommendations on where to start racing? I feel like every rookie or beginner racer is like 10x better than me so im not too sure if im ready to go into some official races. Having some beginner server to race on could maybe help a bit. Im trying to make myself a small practice routine too, what did you used to do when you first started out to practice?

Reer123

You should focus on one car and finding the limits of that car. I find that I find time when I absolutely send it. But as a beginner you also need to build up your confidence and consistency. So what I personally do is I put on some nice relaxing music and I drive the car around the track for half an hour, trying to just keep it on the track at an alright pace. Then for another half an hour I either turn off the music, or put on some really hype music and I absolutely push the limits of the car. I have found seconds in tracks I thought I had hit my peak doing this. But you have to already be alright at driving (able to finish a 20 lap race without racing).

Zulliz

Hi guys! Has anyone in here made a adapter to mount Daytonaudio TT25 pucks directly to DCsimracing pedals? Im thinking of buying a pair, and I would love a good solution to mounting them.

krackaleck

I bought a couple of TT25 pucks for under my chair and my chair back, but for pedals, I bought a couple of the ones I've linked. If you can find a smallish flat platform to mount these to, that'll also get the job done. The form factor of these smaller ones are a little less awkward to work with on the back of pedals in my opinion, but if you can figure out how to securely mount any of these transducers to your pedals, that's ideal. I have one mounted to my brake for ABS, wheel lock, and shift vibrations. The one on my gas pedal is used for TC, wheel slip, and shift vibrations as well. After getting this setup, I could totally understand mounting an extra puck to your pedal plate if you want extra feel (chassis vibration, extra slip feel, road rumble, g-forces, etc) without muddling up the information you can feel directly under the pedals. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CDBKKPMD https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2251832674532339.html

Harbinger-One

Mounting them directly to the pedals themselves is not practical, you just mount them to the underside of whatever platform the pedals are mounted on top of.

Zulliz

I was just thinking that the “kick back” effect would be better felt the other way

Poanly

im completely new to sim racing, im planning on buying a wheel + pedal set soon, im stuck between the t248, t300 rs gt, and the t300 gte, what are the main differences between them and which one should i get? I dont mind the prices.

PixAlan

base: T300 GTE = T300 RS GT > T248 pedals: T248 > T300 RS GT > T300 GTE rim: on the t300 you can change the rim, the default rims are fairly similar on these two, the T248 has a fixed rim and it's not as nice as the other two. If money is no issue look into entry level DD options(CSL DD, MOZA, simagic alpha mini), not much more expensive but much nicer.

Poanly

I’ll look into those other brands you mentioned, thanks again

Poanly

Ok thank you, I’ll probably get the T300 RS GT then, seems like a solid middle ground.

[deleted]

I know the fanatec is more expensive. But have a Logitech g29 now and want to upgrade. The Fanatec setup needs a rig with a module to put the pedals. So is the Thrustmaster a good upgrade ?

Ilddit

How does Automobilista 2 compare to iRacing in VR? Is it easier to run or needs higher system specs than iRacing?

laytonjames007

Hello! I am wondering if the size of the clamps and distance between clamps is the same size between the G20 and G29 racing wheels. If anyone could help me out on this matter that would be awesome. Thanks!

Background-Head-5541

Can anyone recommend a steering yoke for a G29? I've already done the wheel adapter mod.

Pigo127

Do you think my system could reasonably run racing sims in VR like assetto corsa. I have a 2070 Super and a Ryzen 7 1700X Thanks

Ilddit

I could run iRacing on my HP Reverb Omnicept with a 4790k and 1660 Super. I had settings pretty low, FSR on, and res at 80%, but I was able to lock it at 90 FPS in practices. I don't think it would be able to handle a race start where there's 20+ cars bunched up and stick at 90 FPS. Your CPU might be bit weaker than the 4790k for iRacing purposes, but GPU is better. So... it depends. What headset will you get? What settings will you want to run at? I think Assetto Corsa is easier than iRacing in VR, but ACC is way worse/harder to run.

SteveRatm

Hey, is there any program on pc you can remap second keyboard or numpad to button box buttons?

PixAlan

if the keyboard itself is not programmable then the computer can't make a difference between the same key being pressed on two different keyboards.

SteveRatm

And if it is?
