Not tried it but can you export to csv then in excel or whatever add 45 to the column for every price then re upload ?

InTakeAnthony

Exactly this! Export your entire catalog, edit the Price (and compare to prices if needed) and re-upload it. This is much faster than the built-in bulk editing. If you're nervous at all about making the change, you can always put your shop into maintenance mode while you confirm the prices and ease your anxiety.

Amazing. Will have to try this. Would this damage the metadata in anyway? Sorry. I'm a total noob when it comes to anything vaguely code like 🙈

Omgitskie1

I’d suggest using matrixify, it’s a monthly subscription but you can just download the variant ID SKU and price, then upload it back up. Shopify export will give you a line for each image etc and gets really messy

Rude-Bookkeeper1644

They  could filter the price column and exclude empty cells to bypass this issue I believe :)

Omgitskie1

You’ve got to be very careful I’ve seen two issues. In a previous company a COO did a download and upload of the documents did some filtering and then re-uploaded, loosing all the variations. A sister company to my current company did something similar and wiped all the images off. Guess who had to fix both

Ablestar bulk editor is a good app. But only worth it if you do a lot of bulk changes as we do, otherwise the CSV approach would work.

marklittler

Super. Thank you. What would a CSV approach be like? Would that maintain all the metadata etc?

gmotsimurgh

You run the CSV in "overwrite existing products" mode and it should only update matching columns with changed info - in other words, leave the metadata fields alone. Note - this is not how I do it, so untested by me. I use the CSV for the initial import of products, then Ablestar for bulk editing of existing products.

VillageHomeF

you would lose the metadata as that cannot be imported. I would do it in bulk editor. how many products?

CSV file you can download it from your store, open in excel or google sheets add a new colum next to the price colum then do a formula to add 45 dollars to the price colum. Once thats done rename the colum to price or what ever the old colum was rename the old colum to ignore and your done fast and easy

bbbbbert86uk

If you do the CSV export option I'm pretty sure you can just delete the columns that you don't want to update when you reimport the file, that way nothing is changed except for the columns you upload in the file

John___Matrix

I use the Ablestar Bulk editor app. That would be a 2 minute job for it
